Brave Galaxy is set in a world loosely based on Hiro Mashima’s Fairy Tail and Eden’s Zero. It is a PG-13 or so rated space fantasy RP, and uses a combination of character statistics, which can be acquired via roleplaying and events, and creative freedom to help direct players’ characters. While there is a main storyline, which can be found in the events section, characters are free to interact with others and their environment however they see fit.
Explore the galaxy. Overcome the obstacles in your path. Shape the future of humanity.
When Leonidas attempted to give her advice to not put material possessions above her own safety, Laelynn only tilted her head quizzically, half confused, half contemplating. To her, her possessions were her life, without her knives, (Which she lost anyway in the earlier chase) she had little way to fight against an aggressor, and without her suit's invisibility, (Which too, was soon to be gone) she had no way to hide and getting credits for food would be just that much harder. If anything, her entire life was based entirely on possessions for the last few years. To take objects, using those objects for new inventions, using those inventions to steal credits, and using said ill gained credits to obtain food for just enough energy to take some new things, rinsing and repeating, over and over again...when she thought about it, obtaining new possessions was literally the only thing she knew in life.
Contemplation for needing a new hobby aside, there was another aspect that struck a cord to Laelynn regarding what Leonidas said. Disregarding her mother, who passed many years ago, it was perhaps the only time someone has ever shown genuine concern for her safety in a long, long time, and the first time she was really complimented on her intelligence. Not like she wasn't aware, or needed positive reinforcement to take pride, but it was still nice. Especially confusing was the context on how they met, after all, pragmatically, she initially saw this team up as merely a as a practical means to an end. They were unfairly being chased by Elseima's authority, she wanted to leave Elseima, they had a ship and combat skill, she had technical prowess, their wants and abilities aligning in the same direction. Though, upon further reflection, after their conversation realizing there was a historical link that her father was an old friend of theirs, she supposed it make sense. When she thought about it, wouldn't that kind of make them unofficially her god parents of sorts?
"Fair enough I suppose..." She sighed in resignation. Though, as Leonidas quoted what healed him wasn't magic, her confusion further grew. "Not magic? An entire cut, even if shallow, had healed fully under physical activity in less than an hour, it defied science and biology, so it had to be magic. Yet and still, no time to ponder further, especially when they were so close to the finish line. Though, as she shifted into the last stealth mode she'd manage for awhile, and Eris lightly patted her shoulder, she felt a slight warmth spread over her, and a slightly bit more energy, logically concluding Eris has restored some of her blood when she stated that was magic. She only shrugged as the last vestiges of appearance disappeared, the LED screen on her helmet shifting into a question mark before disappearing with it. "I don't see the difference.~." She stated in an amused, yet matter the fact manner. As Leonidas had deduced, magic was only a tool to her, one that broke natural laws to obtain certain effects easily and readily.
As Eris further noted that was the limit of what they could do for now, followed by Leonidas follow up statement, Laelynn could only chuckle lightly. "I may end up taking that offer.~ Now, let's go.~" And with that, she quietly slinked towards the ship and armed guards, taking careful note to observe the conversation between Leonidas and the guards, mentally taking notes on how they attempted to direct the conversation. //Fascinating...// She pondered. First a bit of deception before a lead in mentioning a large amount of credits, and though not spoken literally, it was the guard who instead proposed the bribe instead of the other way around. Of course, it was simple, it was easier to manipulate others if you make them think an action was their idea first. If anything, she respected the subtlety of the method.
As the guard relented and the hanger doors opened, Laelynn crept past along with Leonidas and Eris, failing to note the subtle slip of coins, and stems from Eris to the guards. Instead, she was more interested in the silver colored, sleek looking ship now in front of her eyes, still invisible, placing her hand on it's hull, tilting her head. //Nice model, actually...// Though of course she had seen ships before, never one this close, taking the chance to get an idea of it's material and make. As the ramp lowered upon Blackjack, Laelynn felt a small static shock along her helmet, nothing the battery life...one percent. With a quiet, resigned sign, she too, entered the ship quickly behind Leonidas and Eris, realizing she had little time to indulge her technological curiosity.
As she finally arrived shortly after, the door raising behind her, her suit coldly in a robotic fashion stated only a single thing. "Battery Life: Zero. Powering down..." With that, her suit would flicker back into view, sparking, and even...starting to smoke slightly? Most likely, what Laelynn meant when she said her jury rig would fry the suit, apparently having been very literal in the statement. Though the smell of burnt, possibly melted wires, Laelynn fully appeared back into view, almost collapsing, but catching herself on a nearby wall, noting Leonidas quickly searching through a cabinet, pulling out a thick sheet, probably medical, and placing it upon a very large bed. Queen size, she assumed? It was the first time she had seen a real bed in awhile, and while it was tempting, she had something far more important in mind. As Leonidas commanded her to lay down and wait for medical treatment, she only scoffed in an amused manner. "No way.~ You're about to do a take off into space, and you watch me to stare at a sheet?~ I wanna' see what space travel is like, with my own two eyes.~"
Bull headedly making her own decision, regardless of medical safety, she followed Leonidas, noting more carefully the details of the ship along the way. Despite the slick, silver exterior, it interior was very homely, plants, a dining table, a bed, essentially a fully functioning, very aesthetically well done house, yet...in a ship? What a genius idea! All the amenities of home, yet all the freedom of space travel. Yet, she had no time to muse further, approaching the cockpit area with Leonidas, and if there was no room for a third person, she'd simply angle herself to any position where she could get a look outside the ship from the front window, that was the best one after all.~ First it was the caves, the dark, dreary cave system leading to the surface. She had made the trip a few times on foot, just to get a look at the stars, even if vague and unclear, but never like this. It fascinated her how different it was to fly...and ideas began swirling around for yet another upgrade for her suit, in the future. "By the way, I took the liberty of erasing the formal docking record of your ship and corrupted the video data earlier when I had a direct link to the infrastructure, just saiyen'.~"
She said cheekily before turning back to observing the outside pass by, only to cough heavily once more, a tad more blood staining the inside of her helmet. Swearing in Boscan, she removed the helmet, now getting a tad harder to see through with the ventilator off, preventing defogging, not to mention all the blood stains on the screen. Though, soon enough, they had left the caverns, to Elseima's surface, and then above it, and then...passing through the bleak, dreary skies, and for the first time ever, Laelynn could see the stars perfectly clear, her emerald eyes sparkling with curiosity, and pure child like awe. It was...beautiful. She knew the galaxy was huge, but to see it this way, so many shining spheres of plasma, glowing like candles in an endless abyss, each one holding new possibilities. In a state of complete shock, she slowly unlocked her helmet, lifting it off and attempting to get just a tad closer to the cockpit window. "Wooow...~" For all her sarcasm and cheeky remarks, Laelynn for once was left completely floored without any proper response. Still fully realizing the depth of how large, and beautiful the galaxy was, euphoria kicking in, her adrenaline finally hit it's limit, stumbling for a brief moment. "Annnd...I'mma go lay down..."
Stumbling back over to the bed Leonidas had prepared, Laelynn lazily in a dazed fashion manually undid the locks on her suit, the chest and limb sections splitting open, and allowing her to escape it's confines. Probably would make things easier for Leonidas to get to the shrapnel, which she was now feeling very clearly with a burning pain. With that done, she simply collapsed face first, having been shot, shocked violently twice, and fought a giant rat, she was totally and absolutely burned out. If anything, yet another vaguely familiar habit she shared with Jaxus. Too stubborn to fall, unless she felt like her job was done, or her body gave out, whatever came first. When Leonidas would return, she'd turn her head to the side towards them in a curious fashion. "Space is amazing...you two do this every day?" The question even if abit misworded was sincere, Laelynn curious as to what life as a mercenary, or even space traveller was like.

There were certain things he spoke on that were suggestions, and other things that were far from it. His command to Laelynn fell into the former category without a doubt, although he couldn't help but snort a little at the girl's reasoning. Yes, Leo understood her desire to escape the suffocating earth, but he also knew that internal hemorrhaging could swiftly develop as a result of her injuries, if it hadn't already. Ultimately, however, it was her own body, and trying to wrestle Laelynn to the floor would only do more harm. Their flight went unnoticed, luckily, as it seemed the air traffic was not being controlled as nearly as hard as it was on the ground. That made sense, Leo supposed, if a ship had been vetted to leave a port there was no point in double checking it when personnel were needed elsewhere. A loss on their part, but then again only one member of their party was particularly guilty of a true crime.
Soon enough they were racing off into the cosmos, a scene Leo had witnessed play before his eyes thousands upon thousands of times before, yet the backtrack of Laelynn's awe was first amusing and second a reminder of her reality at hand. Thrust from her home with the likelihood of coming back slim to none, at least for a while, Leo could sympathize to an extent, although certainly time and severity distanced such. Regardless, there were still things to attend to, and as soon as Blackjack was set at a steady, rocketing pace he removed himself from the co-pilot's seat, swiftly glancing over the girl's condition before heading toward a nearby counter. At her comment he paused, raising an eyebrow. "Sure, yeah, whenever we want to." An innocent question, yes, but to Leo the answer was quite obvious, his tone casually dismissing it as such.
His hands rummaged through an assortment of bottles, pills, and other first aid supplies, picking up some to read their labels and with a sigh returning them to their previous location. "No... that's too strong, so is that.... Oh fuck, forgot we had this...." he muttered, glancing over a vial of literal poison. "Eris, where's the normal people medicine?"
She exhaled. "Cabinet down. That's mostly your stuff, at least know where it is."
"Sorry," Leo offered, opening said cupboard. In it were a plethora of metal implements, general surgeon's tools mostly although there were also a few misplaced objects he had probably been fumbling around with on a sleepless night and had forgotten to return. From it he retrieved a pair of gloves, a syringe, and other supplies, washing his hands thoroughly before turning back to Laelynn.
"Age and weight, please," Leo requested pleasantly, before adding to it. "And no, I don't care if you're a lady, it's so I don't kill you with too much anesthesia." Waiting for her to answer, or guessing if she refused, he began to measure a dosage. Unfortunately, it was far from his area of expertise, a surgeon wasn't exactly an anesthesiologist, after all. Luckily, he had at least some wiggle room given the magic imbued within the formula, although not as much as he would have liked. It would have to do, however, he had a feeling Laelynn had more or less reached her limit on pain tolerance, although for her credit she tried hard to hide it. Her wounds alone were enough to tell him such, however, not to mention her movements and slurred intonation.
"This is less than a proper dose. You're not hooked up to any vital machines, so I don't want to risk it. I'll warn you though, it's going to hurt a lot."
With that he cut away at the cloth of her shirt, evaluating her injuries before beginning the impromptu procedure.
"That's awesome, never knew how big the galaxy was till' today...~" Laelynn mused as Leonidas replied they had access to the cosmos whenever he and Eris wished. Though, as Leonidas mused over their selection of medication in the cabinet, and noting how strong some of them were, Laelynn suddenly had a tinge of doubt, wondering what she gotten into as Leonidas bluntly asked Eris for "normal people medicine." Perhaps there was different medicine for mages? Though, with the blood loss, she didn't have the capacity to muse as normal. Besides, as they knew her father and were friends on good terms, as Leonidas mentioned before, she also doubted she had too much to worry about.
Though, as Leonidas washed his hands and asked for age and weight, Laelynn rose an eyebrow. Though, their explanation made sense, it was the idea that they intended to apply anesthesia, which unsettled her due to the effect many had on the body. As someone who always had to fight and defend for themselves for years, it was an unsettling thought, and honestly, a tad of a mark on her pride as the "daughter of a true hero." "I'm not some delicate flower ya' know.~ I'd prefer not get doped up." She replied in a half annoyed fashion, noting the syringe Leonidas had brought out . Yet, she signed in a resigned fashion, she had no credits for a "proper" surgery, and knew well enough if she did move during the surgery from instinct, it's complicate things further.
"Age sixteen as of today, weight, eighty-five pounds..." Still a tad spacey from the lack of blood, despite Eris assistance, Laelynn managed to get out a coherent answer, vaguely mentioning her birthday for the medical accuracy alone. As Leonidas explained it was less than a proper dose to be safe, she sighed deeply as his warning, weakly moving herself with one arm to turn to him, attempting to stare him dead on. "I'd do this myself if I had a few days and the parts ya' know, just would take too long ta' build somethin' for this without risking infection or hemorrhagic shock..." Still attempting to stay strong in the face of the pain, Laelynn allowed fatigue to engulf her once more, falling back face down. "Sides, I'm tough like my old man, an' he handled worse, at least my Ma' told me he did, so I can take it...~"
Despite earlier playing it off and stating it was best she never met him, it was probably becoming more clear she took extreme pride in being the daughter of a hero that gave everything they had...including their life, especially after Leonidas confirmed everything her mother said. A good man, one that was a fighter, and someone that never gave up until the end. Though, as Leonidas cut away a piece of fabric from her shirt, she immediately retorted with a tad more energy. "Hey, that's my only shirt!" Though, as someone logical, she realized it was medically the safest and most efficient way, but the annoyance was still there.
Upon Leonidas inspection, it would be revealed there indeed was internal hemorrhaging in multiple places from the shrapnel, though luckily, it seemed to have missed vital organs such as the lungs and heart, and along with Eris' earlier boost in blood, it seemed she had little risk of death with proper medical treatment applied soon. Putting aside her annoyance at her only, and "good" shirt having a hole torn in it, even with bows surprisingly tied at the shoulders for straps, Laelynn decided to ask yet another question to get her mind off of what was to be a painful procedure. "So...guessin' from the equipment ya' got and the procedure ya' have some kinda' medical background...?"

At Laelynn's response a small smile couldn't help but play out over his visage, the expression far more genuine than usual. The girl hadn't even seen the stars before, not clouded under a thick smog but the earth itself had shielded her, what a terrible reality. He had no doubt now what her reaction to a planet like Trillium would be, its bright glow of snow visible even in the darkest nights, skies rarely obscured by even the wisp of a cloud. There really was no point in pondering such, however, Leo would know for certain soon enough. The flight from Elseima back to the Federation wasn't particularly long, after all, at least in comparison to other trips, which really just meant it was imperative to patch her up sooner rather than later so she wouldn't be bleeding out when she inevitably ran back to the cockpit to watch their descent.
He didn't bat an eye at Laelynn's reluctance to anesthesia, it was a... more common trait in those who involved themselves in combat than Leo would have ever reasoned. Then again, he probably wasn't the best point of reference, considering most medication had little effect on him and the fact that he was more or less an alcoholic, by its dictionary definition. "Oh, happy birthday then," he said, although Leo didn't even turn around from the task at hand at first, though it soon dawned on him. "Wait, isn't sixteen important or something?" It was difficult for him to recall, his perception of time wasn't exactly the finest, nor did himself or Eris really ever bother to celebrate their own dates, in most occasions. His mind soon glanced over that detail, however, focusing instead on her weight... which was a bit concerning but then again Leo had to give her some credit, she had been living on the streets for years. Regardless, he didn't comment on that, merely measuring out the proper dosage accordingly.
Examining her injury it seemed to have missed any vital organs, although the shrapnel still embedded within her threatened to dig in deeper, were it to go untreated. Focused, he didn't register the girl's protest until it was too late, Eris sighing in his stead. "I can take you shopping later, if you want."
Syringe in his gloved hand, however, Leo did pause at her final remark. "Yeah, used to be a trauma surgeon. Fun times, never got enough sleep although to be fair that hasn't really changed...." he answered. He neglected to mention one of the key reasons why he had decided to pursue such, at that point in time, but that was an extraneous detail, wasn't it? Neither was his implied reason for leaving the truth, but Laelynn didn't need to know that reality, he didn't want to expose her to the cruelties evident in the world, although undoubtedly she had already experienced many hardships in her childhood. Instead, Leo began to clean the surface of her skin that hadn't broken, searching for a sufficient vein to begin. Laelynn wouldn't be unconscious for it, unfortunately, but it was the best he could do.
The procedure was completed with a final stitch, several bloodied pieces of steel now present on a metal tray. His expressions unreadable, almost blank, Leo then began to sanitize the various implements utilized, and only after that was complete did he finally speak. "The stitches will need to come out in a few weeks if you don't seek any magical assistance," he glanced over at Eris for a moment, "otherwise I can deal with that. Don't move around too much, though."
As Leonidas wished Laelynn a happy birthday, then inquired about the cultural value of the birthday, she only gave a weak shrug. "Iunno. Think I heard it's the age for driving a ship and the legal age for alcohol on some planets, but I never put too much investment into it." She plainly stated in a matter of face way. After all, birthday celebrations meant little when one's biggest concern was survival. If anything, to her, the birthdays that did pass were only an excuse to snag a bit more credits than normal to afford an extra bag of chips and a cookie. As the preperation for the procedure began, leading to a hole cut into her favorite and only shirt, Eris had piped in as Leonidas focused on the work, offering to help her replace it at a later time, causing her to bury her face into the bed and hide a slight blush.
Today had gone by so fast, and she still wasn't quite used to handling people having concern, or offering assistance to her. "Could we get some new knives as well...? Pleeaasse?" Treating weapon shopping just as casually as clothes shopping, she admittedly did new ones as well after the brief skirmish earlier. As Leonidas briefly mentioned his history as a trauma surgeon, and lack of sleep, Laelynn unburied her head from the sheet, attempting to look back at them. "I see, can imagine that'd be a rough field..." Even without details, she was smart enough to realize that couldn't have been an easy job. People weren't as easy to fix compared to machinery. She could relate to the lack of sleep, though, for entirely different reasons, tending to prefer late nights heisting or working on new inventions.
Laelynn's face scrunched up as Leonidas cleaned the wound, as high grade disinfectants usually burned like hell on even an open cut, none the less a full on shrapnel wound. Shortly after the pain killer was applied, the procedure began, Laelynn clenched and gritted her teeth as the shrapnel was methodically was removed. Yet, the painkiller helped some, though not entirely, she was otherwise quite stoic, moving very little and taking the pain with ease in order to make the operation as easy as possible for the both of them. Soon enough, the process was finished to Laelynn's relief, now properly stitched up with the metal shards in her back fully removed.
"I'd prefer the stitches removed sooner than later, but that's fine, I don't think I'll be moving' much for abit...Kinda' want to take a nap anyway if that's alright..." Yawning slightly, she took a deep breath and closed her eyes, pausing for a moment in thought. "Oh...and thank you...to both of you...." A bit of embarrassment in her voice, she was fully sincere as well, seeing as hell the two went above and beyond their original deal just to merely help her escape Elseima. Yet, as she would attempt to sleep, one question rang in the back of her mind, yet to be answered. What now..?
{OOC} That's fine, figured we could time skip to where they arrive due to as you said, not much to post upon at this point until then, hope that's alright.

"Oh yes, new knives. That sounds very exciting," Leo said enthusiastically, interrupting their conversation.
Eris gave him a short glare. "You have enough knives to kill an army, don't think about it. She might as well just take some from your collection." Of course she was telling the truth, he could not argue with that, their armory at home would reveal any lie Leo could conjure. Knives were the cheapest bladed weapon out there, however, so at least it wasn't a particular expensive hoarding habit, unlike some of Eris's plants, which he elected to not bring up. Any time they had an argument along those lines it never ended well, and that wasn't exactly the impression of them he wanted Laelynn to have.
He blinked, a small shrug given. "Difficult, certainly, but it's nice to know you're doing something wholly good in the world." After all, while doctors certainly erred, Leo knew such from firsthand experience, it was the time and effort put into those who were saved that truly mattered, and even such for those who were beyond mortal console. Sometimes he wished he could go back to those times, when things seemed so much simpler, a passive vigilance present while his other scars slowly faded from memory. All things eventually grew old, however, there was an expiration date for everything. Really, Leo had only wanted to close that chapter of his life on his own terms, but hey, it never seemed to end that way, did it? There was nothing he could do about the past, however, he certainly knew that well enough by now.
Soon the procedure was complete, without any complications much to Leo's relief. Laelynn was still coherent enough, and not in enough pain, to speak, it seemed, and with her words he offered a nod and a smile, Eris repeating the gesture. "No problem." With that, he settled into a chair in the room, resting his feet on the coffee table as stillness fell over the ship, only broken by the occasional spell cast by Eris and the eventual removal of Laelynn's impromptu stitches. Blackjack was speeding toward their destination, however, and soon enough Leo and Eris took their seats in the cockpit, him wholly expecting Laelynn to join as a spectator. With the pull back of a lever, they decelerated to sublight speed, the glistening white of Trillium interspersed with great canyons of civilization coming into view.
Eris flew the ship toward the largest of the cities, atmosphere entered without a hitch beyond the dusting of snow. She veered west, however, toward a building that at first seemed to blend into the light, but its distinct curvature defined itself from the rest of the landscape. Sunfall Manor, the sunset that gave the home its name was in full view, a beautiful douse of crimson and tangerine that Leo could not help but admire, despite the thousands of times he had seen it before. Eris's hands lingered over the controls for a few moments, before she directed Blackjack toward the landing platform that soon opened into a garage beneath the surface, and with that their ship touched down, home after a trip that seemed inexplicably brief yet an eternity all the same.
As Eris brought up the various knives Leonidas held in his possession, Laelynn had only raised an eyebrow, less out of suspicion, and more of curiosity. As they mentioned their biological immortality, surely they'd hold something that met her standards, at least, until she got time to craft some new custom knives to her preference. "Even one would be nice.~ I don't feel comfortable without a blade to be honest.~" She casually remarked, yet truthfully. As Leonidas remarked his past as a trauma surgeon, Laelynn only weakly nodded, understanding the reasoning behind it at a base level. Yet, she didn't quite know the reason why, after all, she had never done anything remotely close to such work. "Well, at the very least, I can see why my old man took a liking to you.~ You're kind.~" She weakly laughed, referencing how Leonidas remarked before that Jaxus saw the best of everyone, and said he himself didn't deserve such anymore.
Yet and still, as the physical pain set in along with exhaustion, Laelynn slowly drifted away after giving her thanks, getting some well deserved rest after a very, very long night. After some time, she would awake soon, mostly having slept through the removal of her stitches, only giving a weak groan of resignation, showing just how badly she ended up hiding her worn out physical state. Yet, through chance and luck, she did manage to awake near the time of descent, slowly but steadily arising up from her rest, rubbing her eyes and making her way back to the cock pit to get a better view of the scenery.
"Woaaaah...~" Sneaking back into the cockpit area, (Though probably unsuccessfully) she blurted out exasperation seeing the site of Trillium as things came into view. Great canyons, civilization in the distance, snow, and even...a sunset, one so grand it exceeded her expectations and hopes for what another planet could look like, leaving her in a silent form of awe. Such beauty, a complete far-cry from the artifically lit tunnels of Elseima. Yet, even more so, the gigantic, cliff side manor they were landing in. Her first thought was what goodies there could be to snag, but pushed those ideas aside for all the help the duo had given her, but alas, as a career thief, she couldn't help "not" thinking of such!~ "So, this where ya' guys live?~ Pretty fancy, gotta' say.~ I've never seen a sunset...at least, outside of the ethernet..." Short and succint, and less sarcastic than normal, it was probably apparently Laelynn was just barely processing the difference in lifestyles from different planets.

Kind. He blinked once, then again at the word, unaccustomed to hearing it in reference to himself. Not that he truly cared what others' opinions were, well, except for a handful of people, but the fact that the adjective was one Laelynn used... he must have been doing a damn good job at deceiving her, albeit unintentionally all the same. Then again, how had he met Jaxus, it had been so long ago that Leo could barely remember. A dark night, lights, his present gaze shifted over to Eris. He had assisted the light mage in some way, must have. Although certainly, his motivation had been in search of a distraction, rather than any compassion to speak of. That was all that remained of the fateful evening, however, faint imprints of a bygone era.
Leo couldn't help but smile at Laelynn's reaction to Trillium, indeed he now knew what category she fell into in that regard. The childish joy and wonder at a new sight, experience, he envied it to a degree. The unknown was a rare occurrence for him to stumble upon nowadays, at least when it came to pleasant encounters. There were only so many sunsets one could watch before it all blended together, after all, though he supposed a more solemn emotion had set in eventually, not unlike the steady pulse of life and time. "You'll see plenty more in your lifetime," Leo remarked, even as the view vanished from sight, steel doors closing above them. He rose from his seat soon after, Eris doing the same after silencing Blackjack's engines. A trip up the industrial spiral staircase later and they emerged in the surface level of their home, only a door standing between the upper garage and the foyer that encompassed a large portion of Sunfall.
He twisted the knob, revealing the lengthy expanse of white marble floor, interspersed with a kitchen, a small collection of potted plants, a concert grand piano, a long dining table that was built to be stored under the floor itself, and a living area on the opposite end that led both to the stairwell out of view and their bedroom behind another door. Most notable, however, was the entire eastern wall that not only possessed an outbowed curvature but also consisted entirely of windows. The seams were concealed to add a further effect, and the view of the capital of Trillium in its canyon out and below certainly was beautiful, if not vertigo inducing for those who were not a fan of heights. Of course, neither Leo nor Eris exhibited that particular fear, but Laelynn had grew up on Elseima, underground, that was, so he had to wonder if the abrupt change in scenery would be a bit too much. Whether or not that was the case, he offered a smile anyway, vaguely gesturing outward. "This is our home, you can stay as long as you'd like. I can take you to the armory now, if you want to look at knives," Leo said, prompting a sigh from Eris.
"Weapons before a room, shower, clothes, or food. Very nice."
He blushed in embarrassment, rubbing the back of his head. "Right, yeah. Those things are important too."
"I can only hope so at least.~" Laelynn mused at Leonidas' reply that she would see more sunsets in the future, musing tongue in cheek that as a career thief, she could easily end up ironically caged in a stone and metal prison of another kind. Still, even as the doors above them closed, Laelynn kept her eyes directed straight to the sunset...a bit too intently, perhaps. "Annnd everything is blurry now...Great.~" She added, rubbing her eyes briefly. Of course someone as science savvy as her knew not to look directly at a sun, but her bewilderment had gotten the better of her. As the old saying always went...curiousity kills the cat.
As Leonidas and Eris led her through the spiral staircase and opened the door, Laelynn's eyes widened to the size of dish plates, metaphorically speaking, a mix of wonder and awe easily across her face. Marble floors, a grand piano, various plants, and even an inside patio formed from a glass wall, to which she immediately rushed to, only coming to an abrupt halt and leaping back once she realized the elevation they were at along with the potential drop below. "Yeaah, nooo. Not getting closer to that...~" Of course, it was simple logic and physics that as long as she didn't break the glass and move forward, she was safe, but there was still a part of her mind struggling to grasp environments that were...well...not caves or barren wastelands.
As Leonidas brought up the armory and offered for her to stay as she needed, Laelynn turned her head in confusion, still attempting to come to terms with the fact she now had people watching out for her interests, despite the...strange way they first came to meet, though, as Leonidas was rebuked by Eris, noting the more basic and important necessities, Laelynn only chuckled. "I'm with Leo on this one Eris.~ My suit kept me clean through most of that, and I always get rest and a meal before a big heist, I just really want to see the knives.~ Any ether coated ones like my old models?~" Perhaps a shot in the dark to ask, but there was no harm is checking after all.~
"Oh, actually...Better question.~" Though, processing a tad late, Laelynn started putting pieces together in her head. "So, you both knew my old man, 'and' you are offering me shelter and food without asking for anything in return...?" With that, a cheeky grin spread across her face, rubbing the back of her head in an amused fashion. "So, does that mean I can call ya' Uncle Leo and Aunt Eris from now on?~" She chuckled lightly at her own comment, far happier and light hearted than the slightly cynical and pragmatic thief they first met. A tad poetic in a sense, for despite the direct contrast of light and darkness Jaxus and Leonidas had all those years ago, both Leo and Eris had created a new light to replace the one lost a long, long time ago from a sheer act of kindness.
