Brave Galaxy is set in a world loosely based on Hiro Mashima’s Fairy Tail and Eden’s Zero. It is a PG-13 or so rated space fantasy RP, and uses a combination of character statistics, which can be acquired via roleplaying and events, and creative freedom to help direct players’ characters. While there is a main storyline, which can be found in the events section, characters are free to interact with others and their environment however they see fit.
Explore the galaxy. Overcome the obstacles in your path. Shape the future of humanity.
As a disclaimer and to add context, this is a continuation of an RP started in discord, so...yah.
As Leonidas and Eris laughed at Laelynn’s answer to how she was linked to Jaxus, she raised an eyebrow, turning to the duo briefly before turning back to scavenging through her spare part box, setting a few key pieces aside while listening to Leonidas’ explanation. “No offense taken, wouldn’t that be neat though?~” Lightly chuckling as she responded, thinking about Leonidas’ suggestion of being a clone. Moving over to her computer monitor, she began to crank out line after line of code, all while keeping a sharp awareness of her surroundings, both in order to clearly hear her guests, but to take assessment on the surroundings and possible intruders, of which, luckily she found none.
When Leonidas then went to explain their biological immortality as the reason they knew Jaxus so far back in time, Laelynn was immediately distracted, turning to the duo, eyes sizing them up in a curious yet observant manner. “Huh...I kinda’ wanna’ ask about the side effects of that, er, for scientific reasons, that is…~ Later though.~” Slying away from the topic despite her curiosity, they were short on time, quickly shifting attention back to whatever they were coding. As Leonidas then went on to explain what her father was like, however, Laelynn’s furious typing exponentially slowed, eventually coming to a complete halt as Leo finished up, leaving their words resounding through her head.
"He was a good man, not with the sharpest wits, certainly, but with a pure heart. Didn't judge people on what they were or who they had been, but what he saw with his own two eyes. Including me, I suppose, and trust me I no longer have the right to accept such. He was always trying his best to protect others, and to inspire others to protect those they loved, but that was also his downfall, in a way, or least that's what I thought until today."
In one sense, it brought a relief to her mind that the stories her mother told her were accurate, even the negative parts like their lack of wit or tact. Even more so comforting was the fact that at least someone still knew his name and remembered him fondly after so long. On the other end though, there was a deep sense of weight and regret. Compared to someone who prioritized helping others their entire life, she had only succeeding in inconveniencing people with her thefts. Yet, she snapped back to attention with a surprising elasticity, letting out a dry, yet amused laugh before going back to coding. “Well, maybe it’s best I never met’em, doubt they’d be very proud.~”
Stretching out her arms straight up, Laelynn crossed her fingers, flexing them upwards and cracking her knuckles with a bored yawn. “I’m almost done here, too easy.~ I just need to know which port your ship is in and we can get this started.~” If either Leonidas or Eris had bothered to look at the screen, they would see countless different windows, some running numbers, while others seemed to be administrator level access to various different functions. Bragging, perhaps, but it certainly was no bluff on just how skilled she was.

Side effects, scientific reasons. His mouth curled in distaste, almost an involuntary reaction as a result of the past. A defense mechanism, of sorts, though Leo would never admit to it. Laelynn was a child, however, her curiosity had yet to be curbed by the realities of society and the world. Perhaps it would always remain as such, to a degree he hoped she would not succumb to the harsh truths but knew with almost certainty that such would not be the case. Eris shook her head in the slightest movement, turning her face away from both him and Laelynn for a moment though soon her resolve returned.
Her next words struck a particular chord in him, though different from before. Afraid of disappointment, of not living up to the standards set by her ancestors. Despite the dry humor, it was clear to him the pain that lay underneath, though Leo could not sympathize with the particular reasons behind it. Alastair had been, well, Alastair, and his mother, he could barely even remember her now. He had tried his hardest to not become his father, as a matter of fact, but of course like all things in his life that had ended in disaster. Leo shrugged. "We all fail at who we're supposed to be," he said. "Aside, somehow I have a feeling he would forgive you. It's not like you had much of a choice given the circumstances, anyway." A small grin was found in his second sentence, though it soon twisted away into nothingness. He glanced down at the floor, biting his lip until blood trickled from it.
"Leo...." Eris muttered. She laced her fingers tighter into his hand, and soon he shook his head, sighing.
"I'm alright." Was he really? Probably. He wasn't so sure he even knew what fine was now, but that was beyond the point. Leo pushed his hair back, soon yawning with a smile. "Some coffee would be nice though," he added, in which she rolled her eyes.
Laelynn's query was far more relevant, however, and not simply a cover-up for darker thoughts. "I believe it's 501A, that was the closest to a highly frequented location of yours," Eris answered matter of factly. "I assume you have a way past the lockdown they've likely placed, then?" Yes, it would be best for them to focus back on the task at hand, for Leo especially.
“Didn’t have a choice, huh…? ...Yeah, right…~” Laelynn chuckled lightly, finding amusement with Leonidas offering such simple rhetoric. It’s an easy thing to justify one’s actions if they truly believe that. She had a choice, many in fact, and whether it had been out of fear or uncertainty, she did make her choice each time. Still, considering Leonidas knew her father, maybe he was correct in that she would have been forgiven if she ever met them. Not like that would ever happen though, considering they were in a thousand year old unmarked grave back on Earthland.
As Eris then went on to note their ship’s location, Laelynn nodded, typing in further code at a blindingly fast pace, noting her previous thought that she should have changed locales sooner before plugging a wire into her helmet from the computer. Although, if she had, she wouldn’t have met Leonidas and Eris, perhaps...things were finally looking up for her? A thought for later, however, as Eris inquired about if Laelynn could break the lock down Elseima had most likely placed, to which, still sitting criss cross position, leaned far, far back, hands grabbing her ankles for support, staring at Eris with a wide open mouth, eyebrows furrowed in disappointment as if to say “are you freaking kidding me?” “Ya know, I never thought about that, I was actually just looking up skin care products.~ Girl’s gotta’ keep their skin moisturized, ya’ know.~”
Leaning back forward, Laelynn pressed the enter key, causing her helmet screen to come to life, hundreds of lines of code scrolling rapidly from the top to bottom, Laelynn yawning as the upload finished. “Yeah, I do have a way past the lockdown, though it’s a tad too convoluted for my tastes. For locks, my suit should work but if we hit any heavy locks, I got this.” Grabbing one of the nearby gadgets, cylindrical in nature with a standard adaptor protruding from the top, Laelynn brought it to her waste, quickly sticking to her hip from what could be assumed to be a magnetic force. “Standard Military Security Tunneler, only good once and hard ta’ find but it gets results, even over clocked it myself.~”
Then pointing to the helmet, Laelynn continued on to explain her game plan. “I’ve already broken into the infrastructure, now I’m just uploading a program I made, with that, I should be able to take control of the lights and communications in areas from here to the hanger through my suit. Lastly, I need to erase any evidence of my blueprints and labs, but that’ll work as a great distraction, if ya” catch my drift.~” Sighing at the thought of resorting to arson and beginning to type once more, all her checkpoints were far away from populated areas, certain no one would be harmed. With a final key press, Laelynn unplugged her helmet, now fully updated, sliding it back on before locking it in place.
There was a strange moment of silence as Laelynn put her hand over the computer, sighing deeply, remembering the day she put it together. Nostalgia running through her mind, she looked around the dark warehouse that had been her main home for years. And then even further back, to when her mother was alive. The full realization that she will be leaving everything behind her impacting hard. “Computer...begin protocol...S.D Zero One.” “Voice identity confirmed. Starting Protocol: “Game Over.” As a computerized voice confirmed the order, the screen immediately turned solid red, a timer of white characters at the center, already starting to count down from 10 galactic standard minutes, the only text to be found above the timer, reading merely “All safe houses: Armed.”
Attempting to hold back a whine of sadness, Laelynn couldn’t help but to shed a few tears behind her mask, yet controlled her emote to an excited, happy cat like symbol. “And that’s our cue to move, so let’s get to it already.~” Quickly moving over to the same floor based entrance they had taken before, she popped open the top, casually leaping down to the sewer levels once more, expecting Leonidas and Eris to follow her lead.

Laelynn's retort to her question turned up a grin on Eris's visage, cracking her usually placid slate. Leo shook his head, a sigh caught between his lips. "Oh look, kindred spirits," he joked softly. She rolled her eyes, a note of laughter emanating.
"Don't lie to yourself; you love my sense of humor," she countered, in which he twisted his neck about, rubbing the back of it. His mouth opened and closed a few times, almost akin to a blubbering goldfish as he tried to think of a witty response, ultimately resigning himself to her.
"Well, you're not wrong." She smirked, though they both soon turned their attention back to Laelynn and her plan to escape the authorities. While her briefing was certainly vague there wasn't much else to be expected, after all he highly doubted the girl had planned a flight from Elseima, or even if she had in all likelihood it had been for an off-hand possibility rather than something set in stone. A distraction, of course that would be an understatement given what she was implying. He smiled, the corner of his lip turning upward, revealing a sliver of his teeth. "Sounds fun," Leo expressed, a low chortle found soon after.
He could tell Laelynn was not so happy to resort to the protocol she soon engaged, however. Yes, saying goodbye could be difficult, but in his mind there was no better way to do such than total destruction, the annihilation of anything that could be traced back to the past. Then again, a part of his heart leapt when he even thought about the chance of ruin, the sweet sound of singing steel and the crushing of bone, the complete and utter collapse of order into chaos. Leo blinked a few times, drawing back to the present as the red that had begun to creep into his gaze faded once more.
They had no choice but to re-enter the sewers, though the girl didn't seem too reluctant about it. Truly, it would be lovely to be back under the night sky again, something which was usually off-limits on Elseima, but even out of the tiny, cramped spaces they had to maneuver through would be just fine and dandy. Claustrophobia crept into his throat as they advanced forward more, but he tried his best to ignore it, instead focusing on the minute details of the sewers, though there wasn't much aside from the noxious smell, water below, and the vines criss-crossing the concrete. Luckily it was not long before they again emerged in the streets, the scene even darker than it had been beforehand now that night had completely fallen over the Centrapolis, though it did not make much of a difference in visibility to him. If anything the void was reassuring, a reminder of the constants of nature despite what could seem to turn it on its head, and with a flurry of emotions and memories having already passed through his head that night it was much needed.
Unfortunate, though, that a lone police officer had to be waiting just outside their vicinity, half asleep yet nonetheless supposed to be guarding the maintenance hatch they emerged from. Drawing Dua though simultaneously switching the sword to its blunt mode, he crept behind the dosing guard and just as they seemed to shudder awake swung the weapon at their helmet, knocking them out cold and catching their body on the fall as to minimize noise. "It seems like they know we fled to the sewers," Leo muttered, before inhaling deeply. They were still underground, sure, but at least air flowing through the Maw had some semblance of normality. How anyone could live their entire life in such an environment he had no idea, but he quickly reminded himself of their current objective and - more importantly - that there was little time to contemplate such silly notions.
As Laelynn finished up the final steps on her computer, she held back an amused smile at the banter between Leonidas and Eris. She was a loner at heart, but inherently found interest in observing people and social patterns, people watching, she believed it was called. Yet and still, there was little time for such trivial feelings. Leading them down the sewer hatch they arrived in, she overheard Leonidas' comment, giving a brief shrug in their opinion of the distraction sounding fun. "Sure, whatever you say.~" She replied in a sarcastic tone, after all, she was a thief, not an arsonist, she liked taking things, not destroying them. For her, this was simply an answer to a dilemma, nothing more, nothing less.
As they traversed the sewer, there were multiple reasons she was none too reluctant to enter them. Unlike Leo and Eris, her suits ventilator housed a filter, protecting her senses from the foul orders, but more importantly, this procedure had become a weekly process. If anything, she felt a tad safer and secured in the sewers, rather than claustrophobic. Walls surrounding her, darkness covering her tracks, and the stench of the sewers always shielded her whenever the authorities attempted to bring search dogs into the picture to apprehend her. Sure, there was a bit of a rat issue, but she'd take over sized vermin to armed officers trying to cage her any day.
Soon enough, they emerged from the dark sewers to the....still very dark tunnels of Elseima, yet it was a blessed site, one step closer to their escape, and specifically, her ticket off this god forsaken planet. Before Laelynn could ponder this, however, she noticed the lazing, half asleep officer, and more importantly, Leonidas' drawing his sword. "No, no, no, no, no!" She whispered in a panicked fashion, only to take a deep sigh as they struck at the helmet and caught the officer as they fell like a sack of potatos. After all, moral code aside, the poor man was just doing his job, and Laelynn had strict reservations about blood being on her hands, or even related to such an incident. "You almost gave me a heart attack there, geez..." She quietly muttered, bringing her hand to her armor's chest plate, heart racing rapidly from the scare.
"Anyway, I wouldn't worry about it too much...they're going to have bigger things to worry about soon.~" Responding in a cheeky tone, she checked a ticking timer in her helmet, causing a small shit eating grin to grow on her face. Sure, it was painful to lose the labs and safe houses that had been her home for ages, but at the same time...there was at least some satisfaction in messing with the authorities that dogged her for years. Raising her right hand up, she snapped her fingers as the timer hit zero, and just like that, four explosions erupted from multiple places across Elseima, echoing through the caverns successively one after another like fireworks. If anything, she had a taste for dramatic appeal like her father did. Utilizing her up link to the infrastructure she established earlier, she turned a dial on the side of her helmet, tuning into different frequencies before finding the ones she was looking for, the communication lines for Elseima's law enforcement and military.
As she expected...they were now in complete chaos. Countless innumerable calls to the enforcement, scrambled frantic communications attempting to dispatch personnel, hurried exchanges of information and feedback, and soon, most of the capable law enforcement, and a good chunk of the military would probably be dispatched to investigate. After all, people were still paranoid after the silent war, especially after the rumors had circulated of a possibly alien menace. "Welp, their confused as hell now as I expected, this is our window, so let's get a move on!~" In an excited tone of voice, and leading them down a near by alley which would cover them as they got closer to the hanger, Laelynn realized her state of mind of how much joy she had taken in the action, briefly contemplatingLeo's comment on how her distraction sounded fun earlier. "You're a bad influence, ya' know that?~" She remarked at Leonidas in a playful sarcastic tone, having not realized until now how fun a little chaos could be until today.

He registered the girl's panic somewhat passively, not even pausing in his strike before after the fact he turned to her, blinking. "Oh dear...." Leo muttered for a moment, before raising the sword up to show Laelynn. "Not to worry, Dualist was designed for versatility. As far as function goes, this one's essentially a baton at the moment." His hand reached toward its twin on his back, a quick toggle and click as metal slats dulled the razor edge to a less lethal intensity. However, while his commentary was brief, dismissing, Leo couldn't help but contemplate her apparent aversion to violence, at least as it were performed upon human beings. Had Jaxus also possessed such a moral code? It was a difficult thing to remember, for he himself saw nothing inherently wrong with death... saw few things as morally evil in itself. If anything, the man must have fallen within the gray area, if only because of Leo's lack of distinction on the topic.
Perhaps it was best that his memory was sub-par. Despite her vaguely familiar mannerisms, he knew enough merely from his reoccurring nightmares to say that Laelynn certainly was not a carbon copy of her father, it was best to perhaps... push him out of the picture entirely, wasn't it? She never knew Jaxus, apparently, and, well, every time Leo heard the name the thing couldn't help but rear its ugly head, a feral protest against his own sanity. Certainly, Laelynn also had no idea about... that, there was no way of her knowing. At least, at least that was a relief. It would spare him one less attempt at explaining it all.
Leo was drawn back to the present by the rumble and flare of explosion, the primal growl the earth grated, tossed by fire. A beautiful sight, even from the distance his gaze couldn't help but be affixed to the plumes of smoke as order gave way to chaos. He grinned, a darker undertone dancing across his visage even as they moved onward. And it seemed as though, while Laelynn was averse to bloodshed, they had similar tastes when it came to matters of destruction. Yes, flame was not his first weapon of choice, at least not subconsciously, yet it was the only thing Leo had access to, the only thing he would let himself indulge in, when it came to that particular subset of pandemonium. With a chuckle did he acknowledge her statement, a brief raise of his brow following. "Yes, I'm told that quite often," Leo remarked, his tone jesting in nature.
Eris rolled her eyes, turning to Laelynn. "You haven't seen the worst of it."
"Yeah, yeah, well we should try to get off this rock as soon as possible. The longer we're here, unfortunately, the more likely it is we'll be caught."
"That's one thing I don't miss, running from governments."
"They're still annoying as hell though. Anyway... what's next, mastermind?" His attention focused back on Laelynn, the last word spoken with a degree of sarcasm although not edging on the side of malice. In the distance, he caught the sound of sirens, dispersed in all directions yet some beginning to close in. And near the initial explosions had floodlights been toggled on, the Centrapolis authorities quickly moving to neutralize the threat that had so abruptly struck their city.
Though having calmed down from the brief panic of having blood on her hands, or at least, as a cohort to blood spilled, Laelynn tilted her head, minorly scowling behind her mask, but nodding her head as Leonidas explained his blades dual function as a sword or baton. "Alright, fair, but you coulda' at least given me some warning bout' that before.~ I take it in pride I never had ta' spill a lot of blood to do my jobs, and don't intend ta' quit that now.~" After all, she was a career cat burglar, not some lowly mugger or thug. She preferred her mind to raw violence any day. Though...speaking of blood spilt, Laelynn felt the pain in her ribs once more, a product of the earlier shot Leonidas landed through her suits weak point, gritting her teeth and hiding the pain behind the helmet. Her adrenaline was hitting it's limit every minute, and the pain from the shrapnel was becoming more and more apparent.
Yet, she moved onwards, Leonidas and Eris following her as she made her comment, prompting both of them to make a comment of their own. While Leonidas admitted a small truth to her statement, Eris commented this wasn't even the worst, prompting Laelynn to turn back and tilt her head diagonally. On one hand, she wanted to ask, but on the other hand...she really, really didn't want to know more than she needed to. Though, as Leonidas mentioned getting away from Elseima as soon as possible, Laelynn merely nodded her head in agreement, not just because of the heat they had gathered now. She had wanted to leave for a long time, and truthfully, she never really knew it, until this chance meeting had come. She was tired of being hounded by the authorities, and living in this cramped, underground settlement that was called a planet, as if. She had to go through tons of security measures just to see the stars, and even then, the hostile environment of Elseima's surface limited it to short bursts.
As Eris mentioned she didn't miss running from governments, along with Leonidas sarcastic remark calling her the "Mastermind," Laelynn's LED visor changed into a cheekier one, the lights changing to a cheeky, happy cat, sticking out their tongue in a lightly mocking fashion. "Why do ya' think I want out of this crap hole so bad? Gets tiring after a while.~ As for what we do next..." Laelynn touched upon a dial on her helmet once more, tapping into the official infrastructures lines, yet, it told her what anyone with ears would have known. Despite the dispersal of most of the law enforcement to the farthest reaches of Elseima's corners, there were still authorities incoming at high speeds to their general location, even if they were unaware of their presence. Yet and still, a small, yet quiet "beep" could be heard coming from her helmet, twice in succession, and Laelynn's visor immediately turned from one that was cheeky, to one with a cat inspired frown, eyes opened wide using zero's to express such.
"Wellllll.....uh...you might not like ta' hear this...but my suits nearly outta' battery.~" She casually raised her left arm, rubbing the back of her helmet, the helmet shifting to a ninety degree, number three, the eye's slanting inwards to ">" and "<" symbols, creating the face of a cute, cheeky cat like emote smiling with a form of innocence. "So, I think it's your turn to figure this one out.~ I'm saving my spare batteries for a worst case scenario.~" Tilting her head once more at an angle, her mechanical tail waved left and right, subconsciously showing a tad of anxiety to the situation. But hell, she had led them this far to their ship hanger, caused a huge distraction, and tapped into the security channels. After all, as Leonidas and Eris were mercenaries, surely, they'd be able to figure out something in this rare situation where she was at a loss for ideas.

Leo narrowed his eyes. "Any blood would have been on my hands, and we're not exactly in a scenario that would make you guilty by association," he remarked, more dismissive than anything. In reality, it was more so that he... didn't really understand the sentiment. Pride in itself was a fickle thing, too often it blinded one from the truth, too often it was a motivator of foolish acts. But no, that was an emotion he could comprehend, something he experienced, but in a lack of bloodshed? Why an individual would be haughty about that he knew, Leo wasn't stupid, after all, but it just, it never made much sense to him. In the end, it was only a grim reminder of what he was.
No time for brooding, though, it was a pointless endeavor anyway. Laelynn's comment about Elseima being a crap hole, though, a smile tugged across his features. While strange in their way of life, Leo could not deny it, Elseimians were generally some of the better off citizens of the galaxy, their planet had no true center of plight and poverty. It was no Dandelion nor Westen, at least that much was certain. Then again, the girl didn't exactly have a comparison to reference, did she? A monotonous existence under bleak caverns, constantly trapped in the fresh yet paradoxically stale air... now that he thought of it, Leo would probably prefer Dandelion, at least in the long run. He was a bit strange, however, and had a certain affliction that favored being able to see a sky, no matter how smoggy, over none at all.
He let out a chuckle. "Believe it or not, you don't have to be involved in a specific plan to make it," Leo stated, however more so as an offhand comment as his attention soon turned to surveying the situation before them. Their... excursion through the sewers had taken them within only a block or so of the hangar where Blackjack was docked, he could just catch a glimpse of the white, blocked letters from the alley they stood in. Two guards stood posted at the entrance, firearms drawn, yet behind the wall their prize still stood, Blackjack's frame just barely peaking out from the top of the barrier. It seemed like they had moved quickly enough - and Laelynn had provided enough of a distraction - that locking down a singular ship was not at the top of Elseima's priorities. Reasonable, as well as the fact that connecting the ship back to them, discovering who Leo and Eris really were in the first place, wasn't exactly the easiest of tasks. He doubted the Alien Registration Act, or whatever the hell it was called, had actually singled them out, more likely one officer had taken an awfully close look at the now healed cut on his leg and proclaimed such.
Eris was also studying the scene, her head tilted to one side. "For a targeted arrest, that hangar seems rather unguarded."
He nodded with a grin. "Exactly what I was thinking. Laelynn... do you, ah, mind ditching the suit? Or maybe you can turn invisible one last time?" Leo asked, gaze passing over her mask for all of a few seconds before he fished through his pockets, pulling out his wallet. Counting a couple bills out, he sighed briefly, palming them. "Why do I always have to pay when we try this?"
She rolled her eyes. "You didn't exactly give me a chance to offer," Eris retorted, before turning to Laelynn. "Let's see how corrupt your precious city is then, shall we?"
"To you, maybe, but association is bigger than legal issues to me." Her mask switched to an animated emoji of rolling her eyes, the mouth as a slanted straight line, crossing her arms in response. Though unspoken, Leonidas picked up that Laelynn was afraid of being caught up by association, but even then, it surpassed the implied technical sense. Sure, if he killed someone, she probably wouldn't be held liable...but she would hold herself accountable. Noting Leo's smile at her comment on Elseima, it was yet another unspoken fact, yet this time, mutually so. Sure, Elseima was better off that a lot of back world planets with health care and limited poverty, but to her? It was a prison, or as the term went, a gilded cage. What use was freedom when she couldn't see the sky, nor the stars? To be constantly confined in tiny tunnels, walls all around. Though she didn't know it, this was probably genetic. After all, as Leonidas and Eris may vaguely remember, Jaxus was a nomad, a wanderer, even when given a home, it simply wasn't in his nature to stay in the same place for long, and inherently, Laelynn felt the same. Mountains, forests, swamps, seeing the stars, seeing all the universe had to offer, "that" was her vision of freedom and a happy life.
At his secondary comment that one didn't have to be involved in a plan to make it, Laelynn cocked her head to the side, her mask switching to a quizzical expression, a question mark becoming the main symbol on her helmet, yet saying nothing, more interested in seeing their thought process behind the statement. Taking a look in the distance, she noted the two, armed guards, and the glint of a lettered ship, and noting the gaze Leonidas and Eris gave, quickly deduced that it was their ship. Now the question was, how would they attempt to pass over this obstacle now that Laelynn passed the task over to them? Certainly, she wasn't lazy, but this was out of her experience, as she usually slipped through the authorities before things got this heated.
Though, as Eris stated her piece, Laelynn turned to her, the mask turning to a strange emoji that was best described as an annoyed, yet sad cat face. "Well, that "is" the reason I blew all my labs apart, they are panicking due to the silent war years back and probably think it's a covert attack." After she said this however, she coughed violently, though obviously holding back the noise to keep their cover, she lurched over, and the smallest speck of red would stain the inner side of her helmet, which perhaps would become obvious as the crimson shade stained the lower, inside part of her mask as Leonidas looked at her, stating his proposition. Despite her tough facade, the bullet to the back of her ribs obviously did a number, and her adrenaline was running out. Yet, as Leonidas suggested his proposition, the mask immediately switched back to a "hissing" like emote, of two clenched jaws, obviously annoyed.
"I just burned everything I built for this, and you want me to ditch my suit? Hoooow aboouuut...noooo?~" Despite the playfulness in tone, it was obvious she was stubborn about it, and that the suit held value to her, as one of her last possessions left, along with being her only defense against a crazy world. Yet and still, he had a point, though Leonidas and Eris were now on the radar, the main culprit Elseima wanted was the infamous "Cat Burgler," which to Laelynns chagrin apparently had become her street name, though not too surprising. "I'd love to go stealth mode, but "someone" shot the circuit board near my ribs!" Though still whispering, she slightly raised her voice, just to note her annoyance. "I can probably do it with a quick jury rig, but it'll toast the circuitry after one use, so what's the plan?"
Though, in a brief moment, Leonidas brought out a stack of bills, credits to be precise, Laelynn once again tilting her head to the side in curiosity. Of course, it was such a simple solution.~ Yet, despite her grand intelligence for machines and computers, it had not occured to her a single time! Atad embarrassing admittedly, but it was probably due to the fact she worked to "gain" credits, rather than spend them. Yet and still, the experience of the mercenaries obviously showed. "We'll see, I'm betting ninety-nine percent though they'll take it though.~" She replied to Eris in a "matter of fact" fashion.
"Well, guess that works, just give me a moment..." Spawning her Multi Use Technical Tool (Patent pending) with her suit, she quickly flipped open a panel on her left arm, getting to work twisting certain screws, the screen on her mask going two way revealing lines of codes. "I can probably by-pass the primary circuit and direct it straight to the refraction oscillator, just need tooo...." As she attempted to finish her sentence, a massive surge of electricity spread through her suit, and though not visible in the darkness, it would become apparent as her body began to violently convulse, yet, instead of a scream, only a pained, mewling whine escaped her lips, holding back as much as she could to keep their cover, not to mention the electrical surge causing her muscles to convulse. Soon enough though, the convulsing stopped, and falling to her knees, Laelynn turned her head up to the two, her mask switching to a cocky cat like smile once more. "Alright.~ Ready to go.~" Despite this bravado, her breaths heaved deeply, and slowly, obviously having pushed herself to the limit and possibly beyond.
Noting Leonidas already healed wound, Laelynn looked back at him, her mask turning to a quick frown. "You're so lucky to have magic, I'mma' have to heal the old fashioned way, ya' know?" Though perhaps not obvious at first, Laelynn's bullet wound was still leaking blood, even having made a trail of crimson drops to where they were now, and explaining why she seemed so fatigue. Despite hiding it, she was losing blood the entire way here. Sighing deeply and giving a shrug, she cracked her neck, turning her mask directly to Leonidas and Eris. "I'll see ya' on the other side, but if things go wrong, I'll hit'em...or somethin'.~" Her mask switching to yet another, yet slightly cheeky emote, she offered them a wave, her suit slowly but surely beginning to refract what little light they had, becoming once again essentially invisible were it not for the couple's ability to sense her presence, to which she carefully begun her advance closer to the hanger.

Material attachments, always making things more difficult. Oh, who was he kidding, Leo certainly wasn't immune, one look at his collection of objects that more or less amounted to useless relics told the story quite well. Nothing to really criticize, then, he merely sighed, shaking his head. As she spoke about getting her stealth mode back into operation, her technical jargon more or less going over his head, he watched, observing the length to which Laelynn would go to preserve what was in all likelihood her only remaining possession. "That suit is really important to you, isn't it?" he asked, more so a rhetorical question as she bore physical pain just to keep it. "Hey, but remember, some things aren't worth dying for. You made all of this," he gestured vaguely in her direction, "with your own mind. Push comes to shove, the worst thing you can do is start over, with more experience under your belt."
Laelynn's offhand comments were far more offensive than she had probably intended though; he really didn't want to address them. "It's not magic, not really," Leo muttered dismissively. Technically, yes. But by that definition he loathed thinking what else the girl would assume, after all she clearly had the more typical interpretation in mind. Nothing more than a tool, yes, Laelynn's implementation of her suit alone told him that was what she thought of magic. Not that there was anything inherently wrong with that on most levels, but, well, without getting into an existential crisis it became a fine line to tread when speaking on the matter of normal mages, they of course felt a certain attachment, a certain sense of identity. To the point, he more or less transcended such, there was no clear definition between what was natural and supernatural. There was no difference, really.
Eris let out a sigh, patting Laelynn's shoulder for a moment even as her form had begun to slip out of visual perception. "That's magic." A brief warmness would spread over her being, although it was paradoxically eerie, wanting. Nevertheless, while the wound was kept open by the shrapnel still within Laelynn, she would find her blood replenished some. Eris shook her head, releasing the near involuntary grip she had on the girl. "It's the best I can do, unfortunately it's far easier to remove metal with physical implements," she said, glancing over at Leo.
"We're almost there; you can pass out in a solid three minutes."
She rolled her eyes. "Medically sound advice."
As they approached, the guards came into clearer definition. Part of a shirt untucked, holster of a pistol hanging far too slow to be properly efficient upon draw, at least it seemed like they wouldn't be dealing with the Elseimians who were more particular about their honor and loyalty, or whatever it was. He was probably long overdue for a refresher on the planet's culture, it always being one... he struggled to grasp, merely because it was so new yet paradoxically ancient. Well, new on a relative scale, but that was a different discussion entirely. In any case, no use pondering the entire personal backstory of two insignificant figures, if the situation took a turn for the worse such information really wouldn't be beneficial.
Hands shoved into his pockets, Leo's gait slowed to a saunter, casual, unassuming. Eris followed close behind, more or less mimicking his poise although she exhibited a certain stiffness that was impossible to erase. The guards shifted to alertness as they got within true eyesight, one moving his rifle to across his chest, the less experienced by the looks of it, while the other stood with his arms crossed. "City's on lock down, come back in an hour," the latter stated informally.
It wasn't new information, but Leo feigned a disappointed frown, thinking for a moment. "You don't think you could make an exception, could you? We've just accepted a time sensitive mission that I would really hate to miss out on thanks to this, it pays enough to last us a month...." he trailed off, the urgency subtly pressed into his voice, annoyance more audibly so.
The younger police man seemed just about to reply, although he was hushed by his elder, who had quirked his head to one side. "If you're on such an important job, I'm sure you've got some credits to spare."
Leo chuckled, a gracious smile lighting up his visage. That was no lie, at least. "Of course." As the man extended his palm, Leo placed the bills within his grasp. It was a significant amount, certainly more than pocket change for most, but not enough to draw true suspicion. A fine line, yes, but he had drawn it many times.
"You came prepared, I see."
Oh, the banter of someone who felt inherently guilty, as if there was another conversation to be had. A waste of time, in his opinion, but Leo had indulged in far worse to get what he wanted; this was no different. "I'm not that much of an idiot - explosions are quite loud, after all - just wanted to see what I could get away with," he replied, easiness of tone evident as he ended in a sure grin.
The guard returned the sentiment with a chuckle. "Fair enough." With a nod, he pressed the button that opened the door of the hangar, an entrance that was wider than a person across, at least one thing was working in their favor, apparently. Leo crossed over first, looking back to see Eris slip a few coins to the lower officer. Just before the door slammed shut, she flung two stems at the guards, nearly undetectable and certainly so as they had not turned to acknowledge them leave. Their final evidence of a departure, erased. Hopefully they would be able to slip out of the atmosphere before anyone realized they were gone.
Blackjack stood before them, her exterior an undisturbed gray and black. Within only a moment had Eris lowered the ramp into the starship, both of them still continuing a medium pace up into the cargo area that had more or less been converted into a small apartment. She immediately jumped into the pilot's seat at that point, Leo waiting until he either sensed Laelynn on the ship or her disguise wore out, whichever happened sooner, before raising the door of the ship. Rummaging through a cabinet at what one might consider an almost frantic speed, although his expressions were far more impassive, he pulled out a heavy sheet, laying it on top of the queen-sized bed, and pointed toward it. "Lie down on your stomach; I'll be there as soon as we get out of here," Leo commanded in Laelynn's direction, before joining Eris in the cockpit as they rose out of the hangar and into the uncharacteristically quiet skies of Elseima's underground.
Valerianse - 3 Eris's primary healing technique, Valerianse has the capability of transferring life force from one individual to another. While she can heal anyone with this technique, and it has an AoE radius of 3 meters that only affects those she wishes the technique to, it also debuffs the person she is transferring life force from by 5 Magical Fortitude for 2 posts. This debuff does not follow the 2/3rds rule, and it must be consented to by the one receiving the debuff. Eris can apply the debuff to herself, however the individual that is more or less assisting the healing process cannot be healed during it, and must be within a 15 meter radius of Eris at the start of the technique. The spell can also be cast by touch, however in this case it can only affect up to two targets. Valerianse itself is capable of healing up to one intense wound, and has a duration of 1 post with a cooldown of 4 posts.
Nepenthe - 3 Named after a legendary drug said to cause forgetfulness, Nepenthe takes the form of a debuff that affects Toughness and Speed, reducing the former by 22 points and the latter by 21. It can affect up to two people at a maximum range of 6 meters away from Eris, although once the debuff is applied it will not go away until its duration is up, and is inflicted via the firing of a stem of the forget-me-not flower at a target. The debuff can be inflicted within the span of 3 posts, and a 3 post duration is applied to those inflicted regardless of when they are within the technique's duration. It has a cooldown of 3 posts. For weak-minded NPCs, it will also cause them to not be able to recall their past two hours of life clearly, although vague details can be surmised. Only the latter has been applied, not the debuff.
