Name: Jairec Kreszark
Nickname/Alias: Drone Zero, Wormeater Age: 32. Gender: Male. Height: 7''10. Weight: 395 pounds. Race: Syzrexul - large arthropod like alien, bipedal, capable of moving on multiple limbs. Organization: Unity of Solar Republics (Overall Faction) -> Syzrexul Revolutionary Armed Vanguard (Specific Military)-> Noumenon (Special Forces Wing). Rank: Transgressor Instar 1 (Basic Rank of Noumenon). Orientation: N/A (Aesexual). Alignment: Chaotic Good. Appearance Physical Description: Jairec is a tall and imposing arthropod like creature vaguely humanoid when he stands up but otherwise inhumanoid when all ten of his limbs appear and he begins creeping up a wall. He appears to be encased in an armour that resembles darkened reddish green, forest floor coloured arthropod carapaces of a wide variety species interwoven into a grotesque if slightly metallic set of armour. Closer examination reveals softer, fleshy connective tissue beneath the intricate interlocking plates. His arms and legs end in what resemble circular arrangements of 10 spider legs. His skull has a sloped, predatory look akin to a ground beetle mixed with a devil's coach horse beetle with some of the complex mouthparts of mantis shrimps and king crabs integrated with his "lips" being hidden behind multiple jaws. His antennae are usually hidden inside of parts of his carapace and are fairly short emerging from near the top of his head, just a little above his forehead. Most of the time however these features are obscured by a dome-like visor that hides his mouth behind what looks like a grate of teeth and mandibles and his 12 eyes of which there are six on each side divided into two groups of three. Clothing: Jairec technically isn't wearing any clothing though the carapace armour that covers his body was not something he was born with. It is described previously and is essentially a part of his body. However it can be removed or detached though the specialized tissue, nerve endings, and organisms needed to make it network with his body will remain. Accessories: Jairec has a few internal storage pockets in his carapace armour; usually he has some food or drinks in them in the form of small nutrient filled sacs. There is a small metallic charm carried in one partially built into his flesh. It resembles a small centipede crawling over a field of eyes, impaling them on its many legs. "We carry the sign of forever within our veins" is inscribed in his native language on its body. A few carapace fragments from dead comrades are carried in another pocket. Picture: {Spoiler: Reference Image} {Spoiler} General idea of his appearance though the following lacks the arthropod features: Personality Jairec is a firebrand individual known for being very upfront and talkative in spite of his career typically requiring him to be silent and unnoticed. Forged in the fires of revolution and insurrection, he had been indoctrinated early on into anti-authoritarian philosophies and later on honed these in a lengthy, violent war. He is known to carefully watch others and can have a somewhat skewed idea of how personal space and manners work. In spite of this, he is popular among his own for his qualities as a leader and charismatic speaking, having a flair for the dramatic whether at meetings for political parties or commanding on the distant battlefields of the far reaches of space. While he is not particularly kind (and does not believe kindness is of any inherent moral worth), he has a noted sympathy for the disadvantaged and disenfranchised and has gone out of his way and out of his military bounds to help them before. He does not have a concept of a biological family as is natural for the Syzrexul but his work fighting among three other different species and making peace with violent dissidents has made him a creature with many connections. In spite of being biologically alien to them, he does not really treat other alien species differently as to how he would treat his own kind. He is however more likely to trust those he has fought alongside or has had to help more closely though among people of certain political and ideological backgrounds, he maintains that as a facade in order to observe them closely. He does not see himself as bloodthirsty but some have noted he seems to take an uncomfortable satisfaction in killing or in some cases maiming and arguably torturing those he saw as tyrannical and cruel themselves. The loss of his own comrades and seeing the despondent conditions of both Czewrolgrad and its colonies has hardened him considerably. However, it has also renewed his revolutionary fervour. He could best be described as belonging to a revolutionary strain of anti-hegemonic anti-profit driven thought with a particular disdain for large business enterprises, class stratification, organized religious authorities. Some humans in particular were surprised by his general skepticism towards many concepts of political and civil liberties they had inherited from Earthland but Jairec is known to believe in similar concepts; he simply does not see proper enshrined laws as necessarily being the best means of protecting them. To him, the strongest weapon and defence is unity of all people's unchained and unbordered by divisions of ethnicity, faith, biology, and so on and as such, all material resources should benefit all people's who need it. He is a strong believer in direct democratic participation and a strong working class as well as the right to self determination; in spite of having hunted down rebel elements on colony worlds in the wake of the civil war, he voted repeatedly in support of these colonies seceding if they so desired. History Jairec was born in an incubation chamber in a ship of the lost Syzrexul fleet that had been gliding through the stars towards the planet Czewrolgrad, far far away from Earthland, for an indeterminate amount of time. Awakened into a strange world of crafted metal and shaped biomass merged into a strange labyrinth. Under the watchful eye of a strange AI construct that appeared to be a gigantic cloud-like mass of biomass and cybernetics known as the Ixaxxaar, he was raised along with his fellow brethren and the various creatures that were held in the fleet to be aware of a hidden, looming threat on Czewrolgrad. Jairec in particular was noted for being excellent in close quarters and reconnaissance in training taking place in both pressurized gel-sac tanks and in the large biome vessels used for high end live exercises. All of them underwent unusual medical tests in which the Ixaxxaar had a noted interest though the results of such were never revealed to them. As the ships neared the still unknown planet after at least a decade, the Ixaxxaar would abruptly leave the ships and vanish somewhere into the planet's atmosphere, leaving the young fleet to figure out how to first make contact. The world it seemed was in the midst of two great wars where humanity allied with the ruling class of strange fungoid creatures known as the Tafsaikh. On Czewrolgrad, this alliance fought against their own political dissidents but on its colonies was the encroaching threat of the eel-like Sceitheagnoc. An unusual thing of note was the presence of what appeared to be an enormous fleshy spore called the Nexus of Teeth that drifted near the planet as well as legends of a gigantic luminous piscine organism called by Caomhruil confirmed by satellite footage that was known to orbit Cythraul, homeworld of the Sceitheagnoc. Jairec also noted that the Human-Tafsaikh Alliance seemed all too eager to welcome the Syzrexul, almost as if they had been expected and a few of his close friends did as well. When they landed, it was clear that the Alliance desired allies and in spite of the Syzrexul being all heavily armed but with no real experience in genuine warfare outside of simulations, they held them in some unusually high regard. Jairec, skeptical of this, helped convince his leaders that perhaps they should be trying to find the Ixaxxaar as well as to acquire any information they could on the Human and Tafsaikh dissidents as well as why exactly the Sceitheagnoc were at war with the Alliance. Deployed into the wilderness of Czewrolgrad, namely where traces of the Ixaxxaar could be detected, Jairec and his volunteer scouts noticed areas of nondescript wilderness being very heavily guarded by elite units. Yet as time passed and his kind were gradually coerced into the war effort, Jairec noticed certain transport vessels visiting certain areas and exiting them were not just shrouded humans and tafaikh but oddly enough what vaguely appeared to be syzrexzul. And after following them into the facility, it was a syzrexul one as well albeit partially locked to this strange alliance. A vicious battle would ensue in one of these facilities as the szyrexul teams would capture them, learning from the AI's within that they predated the settling of Czewrolgrad and more importantly, the reason why they were able to be unlocked by him and his team was because they had been prepared long in advance for the arrival of the "orphan fleet" and those psycho-biologically marked by the Ixaaxxaar referred to as the Szyvanagon. They allowed the syzrexul here because they wanted to take control of the Ixaxxaar using the technology in these hidden facilities and subsequently, its subjects. As they escaped, they did so knowing that part of why the szyrexzul were being coerced into the war wasn't just to test their fighting prowess and potential as allies, but also to distract them. Those the cyborg cloud had marked were quietly assassinated off and on world to stop even the chance of being able to communicate with the massive organism and this information was sent with highest confidentiality to the syzrexul high command. His leaders had also learned that the Ixaxxaar hadn't stayed on Czewrolgrad for long; fragments of it had been found intercepted by insurgent and Sceitheagnoc forces in hidden ships. Jairec and his team were able to free them silently but learned in a strange instance of psychic communication that they needed both the insurgents and the eel-like aggressors. These hidden holding facilities would become the unintentional ground zero for a meeting between insect, fungi, and eel as information was exchanged and the war's uncomfortable truth was revealed. Humanity had been placed on Czewrolgrad during the earlier stage of Tafsaikh civilization by the same shrouded figures Jairec and the other operatives had previously seen as part of a social engineering experiment by the mysterious imperialist empire known as the Mist Axis. The reason was to see if they could both learn to lead the Tafsaikh as well as to see how they could possibly control the Nexus of Teeth or if they too could create an egregor like it by feeding their psychic resonance into parasitic organisms the Mist Axis had implanted into it years ago and using the Nexus as a gigantic womb. The Sceitheagnoc weren't truly aware of these things beyond rumours in some circles but they'd unknowingly been fighting against it the entire time. However, the Mist Axis were catching wind of the Ixaxaar's true location and were becoming aware that the Syzrexul were "dragging their feet" on the war. With the war reaching a fever pitch and the losses piling up monstrously on all sides, while the true perpetrators walked free, the hidden conspirators made heir move. Sent amongst the bitter ranks of the rebels, the neutral nations, and Alliance armies demoralized by years of bloodshed, Jairec took part in a large scale disinformation and propaganda battle that began to quickly turn popular opinion against not just the war but the elite leaders who had been orchestrating it at the behest of a foreign imperialist power. Worlds began to revolt, armies defected, and where once the insurgents and Sceitheagnoc were met with hatred and gunfire, grim realization and mutual understanding now met on equal terms. The war accelerated to a new stage of savagery as not only was defeat the goal but the complete upheaval of society and civilization as everyone understood it up to this point. Worlds once known as fortresses fell within months and soon, the combined might of not just humanity and tafasaikh but sceitheagnoc and sryvexul had dethroned the Alliance, forcing its leaders to abandon this domain and dealing a heavy blow to the Mist Axis as they lost control of their grand testing site. Yet in the process, a horrific leech-like monstrosity exploded out of the Nexus of Teeth, tearing out a huge chunk of its biomass, while the Ixaxxaar split in half with the detached segment chasing those who had escaped. Inheritors of a fractured empire, now known as the Unity of Solar Republics, Jairec has mostly since been helping to try and hold a tenuously allied set of worlds together from its internal pains and grievances while keeping a watchful eye on the still vast and unknown cosmos beyond its borders. In particular, they are attempting to discover what became of humanity since its ancient exodus as mankind's power over these worlds was not an accident. The surviving humans of the original voyages and their descendants know not how they got here, only that it was not by accident - the Mist Axis had placed the cryogenically slumbering humans and their fleet upon this planet and had engineered human society behind the scenes to serve as a dictatorial control mechanism and catalyst for their occult projects. If the Mist Axis valued humanity so much, it is only right that the USR attempt to establish contact with them and shine some answers on just what happened to them. Currently, Jairec is part of a task force attempting to find and make contact with whatever fragments of humanity are out there. Equipment & Items Name: Impalement Offering Class: C Description: Experimental weapon handed out to members of reconnaissance teams. Weighs 9 lbs and is around 111.8 CM long currently with an effective range of 75 metres. Has a slender body and while primarily metallic, some parts appear to be made of some sort of chitin-like material that plates most of its skeleton connected with something akin to bone-like shaped metal. It appears almost alive in how its chitin-plates can move and shift revealing electronic components and even a tubular eye-like scope on its top. Effect/Function: A silenced carbine firing accelerated spikes from a ten round magazine. It is one of the latest in a line of weaponry made from the gradual emergence of the combined technological knowledge base of the USR. It fires as fast as one can pull the trigger and due to its firing mechanism it makes little light or sound though technically it does not count as silence or flash suppressed. It is meant to be utilized akin to a designated marksman or battle rifle and is quite accurate with fairly little recoil. Name: Impiety Shroud Class: C Description: Syzvrexul armour is made from their natural exoskeletons being modified with inserted and integrated armour plating, mesh, and moss or gel sacs, essentially becoming a part of the user. The Impiety Shroud is a current model being tested for use in reconnaissance and infiltration roles, comprised of dark brown-reddish plating made of a flexible combination of rare bonded metals and lab-grown specifically designed carapaces. Jairec is tasked with testing it at on his current missions. It covers his entire body and features mesh-like padding between the plating underneath which specialized genetically modified gelatin-moss sacs help protect against impacts and helps regulate minor variations in temperature. Effect/Function: A flexible and moderately durable form of protection for light infantry units. Moderately resistant to small arms fire and helps keep the user cool or warm to a slight degree comparable to a fine winter jacket or a light vest. Bonded to his own exoskeleton to increase flexibility and without doing much to impede movement and speed. Name: Subjugation Revelry Class: D Description: A pair of extendable batons that can be combined into a larger baton. They are each around 36 inches long and weigh around 0.80 pounds. They are comprised of a nonreactive, non-conductive metallic alloy with a high melting point and have a lattice-like internal structure to reinforce them. Their tips are a bit denser in the interest of providing higher impact per strike. Effect/Function: A powerful hand to hand combat weapon that while simple in design is outright lethal in the hands of a skilled martial artist. Jairec uses them to deliver vicious rains of blows or slower heavier strikes. Name: Syzvrexul Limbs Class: D Description: An array of spider-like limbs ending in six-fingered claws akin to those of small insects. They are notably less bulky than this primary arms and have a thinner carapace covering, revealing more of their ball-like joints allowing for a good deal of manoeuverability. They are capable of supporting his weight though their overall strength level is lesser than his primary limbs Effect/Function: Jairec’s additional limbs, like many for his particular species, are primarily used for locomotive purposes. While they are not necessary for activities such climbing or crawling, they increase his speed considerably when used in such a context. They are not powerful or durable enough for combative purposes but they are capable of manipulating the environment around him whether it’s gripping, pulling, digging, holding, typing, and so on. Name: Deathlust-Class Incisor Rounds Class: C Price: 1000 Credits Description: Recently developed electro-accelerated rounds that expand mid flight while furiously spinning and then fragment upon embedding into a target. When fully expanded their size is comparable to larger sniper rifle bullets. They typically found in 10 round magazines for the Impalement Offering. Effect/Function: One of the munition types that Jairec uses for the Impalement Offering. They have high armour piercing capability to the extent they will rip right through lighter armoured targets. Subsequently their intended targets are meant to be tougher with more resistance allowing the rounds to violently expand upon meeting enough resistance. Name: Perversity Shroud Class: D Description: An experimental body-obscuring suit made of micro-organisms and specially cultured cells imitating the skin and muscle of human's down to including imitations of hair, blood, and the ability to get tanned. It is worn over his own body and comes with imitation clothing comprising large, lengthy coat, black pants, and a turban that obscures most of his face. Jairec's shroud makes him look like a very tall, powerfully built lightly tanned individual with a stony brow, light brown eyes, short and messy hair, and a somewhat naturally dour expression. Effect/Function: This strange disguise is meant to make Jairec appear like a human though prolonged close-up observation will start to reveal discrepancies and oddities. While it is not full blown uncanny valley, a sharp eye will reveal that there is something much more than human lurking beneath. The disguise will not last long if the skin is destroyed by say fire or acid while attempts to physically attack him may reveal something unnaturally hard underneath that doesn't quite feel like bone. It is effective from afar assuming he does not move around too much but someone with an acuity of at least 10 will be able to notice the disguise if they get close. Stats - 100 Toughness: 20 Acuity: 25 Power: 20 Speed: 20 Magical Strength: 5 Magical Fortitude: 10 Earned Stat Points Earned: 0/0 Arc Points Earned: 0/0 Credits Earned: 9,000/10,000 Sources Character Creation 9,000 Credits - 1000 for Deathlust-Class Incisor Rounds Skills & Disciplines Creeping Unknown: From dense jungles and devastated cityscapes to barren deserts and desolate mountains, Jairec has few places where he can be easily found. Inborn instinct, elite training, and deployments across multiple worlds have honed his sense of situational awareness and capability to conceal himself in a variety of environments and given him a reputation as a skilled infiltrator. His numerous limbs allows him to manoeuvre over rough terrain and climb as easily as one might run and in spite of his size he can turn dirt, tress, rubble, and snow into hidden ambush sites and hideaway burrows as well as deadly traps. As much trained commando as he is unseen nightmare, all foes are unsafe when is not heard, seen, smelt, or even felt. Swarming Tenacity: In spite of his advanced equipment and state of the art military training, Jairec has trained intensively for closee quarters. Adept in close quarters a large part due to the need to eliminate enemies quietly and quickly as well as the frequent hand to hand combat situations he found himself in, Jairec’s close quarters capabilities are no less fearsome than the projectile weaponry he frequently wields. Limbs are trapped amidst whirling swipes, bones smashed by abrupt strikes, and unaware flesh is torn amidst a feast of surgical precision and carnivore aggression. His specific school of martial arts primarily focuses on two (or more) short weapons but many of the techniques involved are meant to work empty handed with some slight modifications to positioning and movement. It is somewhat similar to Filipino martial arts though it focuses a large part on “kill zones” and in certain schools viciously disemboweling and gutting attacks. Ruthless Silencer: Jairec is not a dedicated sniper but his work in the field frequently puts him in situations where disposing of enemies from afar quietly or quickly is best, learned from both his training and his time stalking larger groups of enemies trained for open warfare. Primarily operating at medium to slightly long ranges, Jairec was trained to target vital spots in the centre of mass as well as joints and exposed limbs, crippling enemies to be hunted down as he moved in closer or to be torn apart by more heavily armed allies. He is best at “snapshots” – sudden moderate accuracy bursts of semi-automatic fire meant to quickly drive back an enemy or stun them with a few quick volleys. He prefers rifles primarily regardless of their fire mode. Intransigence Command: In spite of his work requiring him frequently to be very quiet, Jairec’s rhetorical abilities are heavily developed as one of the first members of various political wings of the syzvrexul and the fact that he had helped radicalize dissident and professional military groups. His education in the wake of the war only strengthened not only his beliefs but also improved his capability to communicate them. Granted, words alone have their limitations and the material conditions subjects find themselves in will influence them far more, but that was only ever an incentive to be more than a spokesperson. Force of character combined with a willingness and ability to take sometimes quite violent direct action have played a considerable part in his efforts to turn the skeptical and doubting into the ruthlessly dedicated and some might even claim fanatical as placated civilians and warring militias find themselves drawn to revolution and upheaval. Magic Name: Bioethereology Type: Psycho-Occultic Egregor Manipulation Proficiency: 1 Rank: 2 Description: The main form of magic the syzvrexul are capable of actually is an advanced form of communication with the remnants of the colossal ethereo-cybernetic organism known as the Ixaxxaar which belongs to a classification of powerful semi-godlike lifeforms called egregors. These are enormous, eldritch creatures are known to feed off the byproducts of conscious thoughts from the sapient life forms they are bound to and are frequently associated with specific races. Bioethereology in particular is a way of commanding said organisms or in Jairec’s case, fragments of them to lend a miniscule percentage of their power to do one’s bidding. It requires a mixture of psychological conditioning, occult education, and biological alteration in order to prepare one as a vessel for the arrival of said powers. In many cases, a living fragment of such beings is implanted into a user, allowing for greater control as well as direct usage and in the case of the Ixaxxaar. In such cases, one’s body can essentially become the host to a foreign entity but also one’s soul with the fragment growing and adapting to the new space it has anchored itself to. With sufficient time it is possible for it to become completely disconnected from its originator though if it does so, it will become unable to survive for long without the sapient organism that it has adapted to. Unsurprisingly, it has seen a wide number of applications outside of a civilian context to the extent it is primarily known for its military usage. While research into said applications is relatively new and mostly based on codifying various strands of occult knowledge from various parts of syzvrexul society, it already has made a notable impact in military operations. It primarily focuses on disruptive offensive applications with various support skills but it stands out in that there is fairly little energy-based substance involved but rather instead uses tangible bio-ethereal matter and causes it to react, reshape, attack, or otherwise spur it into action based on the caster's needs. Many applications involve using this mixture of magical and physical matter to slice, stab, grab, or otherwise aggressively attack opponents in a variety of forms - launched barrages of spines, globules of volatile explosive gas, lashing claws, and swarms of scourging mandibles and so on. However it is capable of more unusual manifestations. The simplest ones tend to be clouds of noxious obscuring smoke and pheromones that boost the reflexes, pain resistance, and sometimes aggression levels of syzvrexul while more complex ones such as using strange fluids to "infect" the air around an entity to make them appear blurred and difficult to see and launching embryo-like projectiles that detonate into terror-inducing psycho-reactive shockwaves. In spite of the grotesque nature of the magic, it has somewhat lower sheer killing and tactically speaking it is typically used to disrupt the enemy, forcing them out of position or suppressing their initiative, and assisting friendly forces by enhancing their capabilities or ensuring the enemy has a more difficult time engaging them. Purely defensive applications are fairly few at the moment in spite of research attempts and the amount of users is relatively small due to the Mist Axis targeting them during the civil war. However, reproduction of bioethereological individuals as well as research into ways to reproduce the magic in adults is a fairly booming field even if it still faces many limits due to the relative novelty of this mysterious field of knowledge. Techniques: 5/5 Erupting Rot - 2 Type: Offensive Range: 15 metres Effect: An eruption of Ixaxxaar flesh rapidly spawned by the embedded fragment moves to an area, traveling beneath the fabric of reality, before erupting into realspace as short lived mass of flailing, ripping arthropod limbs. Half magical, half physical, they flail with a disturbing, crackling aggression as new limbs erupt out of old ones each more bloodthirsty than the last, dealing moderate damage within a 5 metre radius and with a casting range of 15 metres. It lasts for 1 post with a cooldown of 4. Subversion Blessing – 2 Type: Support Range: N/A (casted on self) Effect: The Ixaxxaar fragment within him secretes a sort of photoreactive substance that “colours” Jairec’s body and replicates the effect of using photoreactive panels to make one appear transparent and “invisible” to the naked eye. It however does not mask scent, smell, heat, touch, and so on and creates a slightly noticeable magical signature. However it is unaffected by the speed of his travel or his activity, lasting for currently 2 posts with a cooldown of 4. Entities with an acuity stat of at least 20 will be able to see through it. Obscurity’s Grasp – 1 Type: Support Range: 5 metres Effect: A waste-sac of foul byproduct is launched at a targeted area from the Ixaxxaar fragment, exploding into a cloud of foul black gaseous substance in a way akin to a smoke grenade. However, it clings as liquid to enemies passing through and those within its midst will hear strange sounds of gibbering and chittering as if passing through a hive of hungry insects. It can distort any sound attempting to pass through it to a slight degree and obscure the sight of those within it. It can however be done away with fire and sheer force (ie. explosions or sufficiently strong gusts). It has a casting range of 5 metres with the cloud itself being 5 metres in radius, obscuring the vision and hearing of anyone with an acuity of 10 or less. It lasts 2 posts with a 4 post cooldown. Cantrips - 1/1 Spiteful Intent Level: 1 Type: Offensive Range: 5 metres Effect: Able to be fired once per turn, these quick spines are generated from flash-formed masses of Ixaxxaar and he can launch one per turn quickly and silently 5 metres from his body, dealing light damage. Misc: Theme of Jairec 1 - NOTE: Changes completed as of October 4, 2019.

Brave Galaxy is set in a world loosely based on Hiro Mashima’s Fairy Tail and Eden’s Zero. It is a PG-13 or so rated space fantasy RP, and uses a combination of character statistics, which can be acquired via roleplaying and events, and creative freedom to help direct players’ characters. While there is a main storyline, which can be found in the events section, characters are free to interact with others and their environment however they see fit.
