Race: Human, Fioran Organization: The Acquisitions Department Rank: D [0 REP] Orientation: Bisexual Alignment: Chaotic Neutral Appearance Physical Description: At a glance, Isaac's physical appearance appears less than the sum of its parts. With a tall, slightly mesomorphic build, the man's poise stands stern and upright yet without much presence; more bamboo stalk than tree. His complexion isn't entirely that bad; a reasonably healthy skin color and an angular jawline complements his appearance well. One could almost go so far as to call him effeminate in terms of appearance, a tad androgynous. Yet there is a characteristic coldness in his deep dark eyes, a haggard aspect to his general appearance with a mess of shaggy, mouse-brown hair that is getting far too long these days. Often does he attempt to keep himself clean-shaven at the very least, but on a bad day perhaps one could notice a scraggly patch of stubble dusting the tip of his chin. Clothing: Times change, and with the Clan, so too changes their attire. Isaac himself, like many of the other younger soldiers, is no fan of the more restrictive suits or traditional clothes, preferring instead a select ensemble of relaxed wear and simple yet maneuverable attire. There are times when the occasion necessitates formal dress and Aidan keeps a cheap suit in the back of his dresser, but for the most part he needs something warm and light, not something that stands out to make a statement. A zip-up tracksuit and loose-fitting jeans with close-toed boots often works, making him look somewhere between a jogger and a laborer. In the comfort of his own home or vessel, he opts for a simple ensemble of t-shirts and shorts, often with a dazzling array of socks or sandals. Accessories: Isaac typically carries weapons on his person, but also bears a few intricately designed rings and bracelets. The entirety of his body is a tapestry of art, with numerous tattoos and scars detailing his involvement with his Clan. Picture: Personality Most people have a conception of the Mob as being comprised of a specific type of individual. Big, husky, scary, thick-accented mobsters with as much tact as a brick; brutes with a penchant for violence and a predilection to prey on the downtrodden in a society. In a way, Isaac fits the mold: when pushed to it the man is violent, and years of countless dealings going south on the streets has required a steady and unwavering trigger finger. But that belies who Isaac really is. It wasn't long ago that Isaac played the role of the cocksure braggart, an upstart with a gun, a recommendation, and balls bigger than anybody else in his group of associates. But those times are long over. He's still a mischievous lad at heart, but there's a sombre jenesaisquoi to his demeanor now, a heavy plod in the spring of his step. He can be fairly congenial when he wants to be, glib and silver-tongued when he has to be. All things considered, he's a multi-faceted person, and behind the witty jokes, the scathing remarks, and a hyena-like laugh lies a shadow of a man wrought in the wake of his own decisions. Decisions that have led to him being nothing more than a dog of the Clan. For how much longer, lies the question. History Being a mafioso wasn't high on Isaac's to do list. For the longest time, the man was anything but one. Sure, his elder brother might've been involved in some shady shit at a local gambling parlor, but but to the best of his knowledge he had it pretty good, with a father that was a trombonist, a mother that was a painter, and a nice but small condominium overlooking the skyline of Trillium. They'd never broken a law in their life, and that was the way Isaac lived his. For a while he seemed promising; A Caelumese-Fioran boy that made it into the University of Trillium, studying to make it into healthcare. But there was a lingering emptiness, a void in the furthest vestiges of his heart. He was dumb and impressionable back then. And when Big Bro showed up in front of his apartment one fine day with the chance for a lifetime of excitement, Isaac agreed. He got far enough to get his medical license, but it was then that Aidan's life took a turn––for the worse or the better, who knew. It started simple enough. He had access to a stock of chemicals and medication; his brother had access to a stock of people in need of a new high. And to new highs did Isaac deliver, profiting off of ludicrous amounts of Boscan Grass, Dandelion Salt, Pergrandian Poppy, and anything and everything. It was unbelievable how much those suckers would shell out for that stuff. Who knew that dumbasses would pay hundreds to get high off of cough syrup? But every height comes before a fall. A man in a sharp white suit paid Isaac a visit. He was well-dressed, reeked of confidence, and was treated like a King by everyone around him. Paulo Mikado, a high-ranking mafioso, made a great impression on the then 23 year old Isaac and his brother. And when the opportunity came to him, Isaac didn't even hesitate. That was part of the reason why he accepted. The other was the money to be offered. Why go through all that extra schooling to make just a couple bucks more than minimum wage when he could make six figures easy from associating with the guys whose names were enough to scare anybody shitless. Fuck all that noise. And so he joined the Mikado Clan's Trillium Chapter, under Paulo's wing. For a while, the job wasn't too bad; every once in a blue moon, he'd meet in the diner astride the casinos, make use of some of his knowledge in the medical field, while his elder brother became a tout, pushing flyers, drugs, whatever the Family told him to push. It wasn't that bad; Paulo needed a consultant in the realm of drugs, cheap, high-quality ones that could run other competitors to the ground, and Isaac needed the money to get through university. Under his assistance, Paulo's off-world salt labs had muscled out most of the competition in Dandelion. Things changed drastically about two years back, when the new Clan Master descended. Things were shaping up for the made members of the Mikado Clan; the Trillium Chapter hadn't been producing enough results, and to regain the Clan Master's favor, they had to redouble their efforts. Up until now, Isaac and his brother had it relatively easy. Apart from coming in once every couple of months and spouting off a few choice words for a fat stack of credits, he was doing literally nothing. And so, Isaac had to delve firsthand into the business, learning what it really meant to be a brother. That meant being part of a racket, led by his elder brother. It meant intimidating business owners who had the misfortune to be on their turf by any means necessary, and making a mess out of a china shop until somebody coughed up enough to pay for "protection". It meant stalking people and kidnapping them in the middle of the night, propping them on all sorts of addictive drugs and selling them to the highest bidder. It meant seeking out people that had "betrayed" the trust of the Clan, and doing far worse things to them than death in the confines of a dimly lit basement. Isaac fancied himself a real piece of shit, but he wasn't by any means the kind of vile individual that'd do all this gladly. But that was what he had to become. He'd already sworn the oath, inscribed his name, gotten the tats. And when his brother had chickened out and tried to leave, Isaac saw firsthand what would happen if he wanted out. So he stayed. It's not everyday that someone finds themself becoming a career criminal. It's not everyday that someone manages to carry out a respectable career while also committing the vilest of sins after-hours. And yet that was the duality of his life. Money flowed in, money flowed out. But Isaac's mind, like his morals, slowly began to fracture. He's tried to keep a low profile in his workplace, among his crew, but it's only a matter of time before the ISC come in, only a matter of time before the only choice he's got is catching cuffs or catching bodies. And if push came to shove, it'd probably be the latter. Equipment & Items Name: Whisper Class: D Description: A 9 lb, 1,100mm long semi-automatic rifle manufactured in the Union of Pergrande and extensively customized to suit an assassin's needs. With an integrated suppressor and a basic short-medium range telescopic sight, Whisper lacks the capabilities of many other harder-hitting weapons on the market, but suits its purpose well in contract killing. A rugged design based off of a standard issue Union battle rifle allows the utilitarian weapon to take a heavy beating, while the crest of the Mikado Clan hangs from its hybrid pistol grip by a chain. Heavy use over time has degraded the barrel of the rifle, drastically affecting its accuracy. Effect/Function: A semi-automatic D-Class sniper rifle with a range of 50m. Name: 7.3x51mm Cartridge (x10) Class: D Description: An aging munition weighing at about 250 grams per round, chambered nowadays for hunting rifles and other civilian long-guns. A once high-powered cartridge considered obsolete by modern standards, the munition is capable of little more than piercing through modern armor and lodges into most non-reinforced materials. However, the 7.3x51mm Cartridge functions devastatingly well against non-armored opponents, and against flesh it serves its purpose well. Effect/Function: D-class rifle ammunition. Name: Sicario Class: D Description: A utilitarian handgun of former military make, weighing around 2lb. and measuring around 300mm. Effect/Function: D-Class Semi-automatic handgun with a range of 25m. Name: Aoguang Class: C Description: A staple weapon of the Mikado Clan, Aoguang is a utilitarian, 1.5lb uchigatana of 889mm with a sharp, mono-sectional crystal blade, modeled after sword designs popular among warriors of yore. A herald of an age gone by, Aoguang was made to the exacting specifications of its wielder, with an engraved hilt and grip of laminated walnut and tempera. While not easily concealable, it serves its function well. Effect/Function: C-Class katana Name: Armored Clothes Class: C Description: Custom-fitted attire made by weaving a myriad of textiles and aramids together to make functional, nondescript equipment. A shadow check pattern of Ironwool offers protection from most offending objects, overlapped with matte navy Durosilk weave to offer further padding. The result is a lightweight armor that weighs about as much as a normal set of clothes, but with protective qualities well suited for the discerning individual. Effect/Function: C-Class armored clothes Stats - 100 Toughness: 13 Acuity: 17 Power: 13 Speed: 17 Magical Strength: 20 Magical Fortitude: 20 Earned Stat Points Earned: 0/0 Arc Points Earned: 0/0 Credits Earned: 10,000/10,000 Sources Character Creation 10,000 Credits Skills & DisciplinesDrug Expert/Asshat––Years of medical knowhow and experience dealing on the streets has left Isaac as one of the Mikado Clan's go-tos when it comes to the ins and outs of how drugs work. From improving yields of Dandelion Salt to the best medication to cure anemia, Isaac has it down. Perhaps 50% of the time. You can't commit malpractice if you don't practice, after all. Manchild Moments––For all intents and purposes, Isaac likes the concept of me time. Be it from watching Chorusean dramas, playing games, or doing anything completely detached from productivity, he has a tendency to goof off in spades, when the time allows it. Stress Eater––Isaac has a tendency to eat a lot when he's stressed. His choice in food scales in tier too; on a bad day it's often a hearty meal, but on a really bad day, the man can tear through bags of tortillas like its nobody's business. Quickdraw––While he may not be the best at hand-to-hand, if there's anything that Isaac takes pride in, its in his ability to be fast on the fly when it counts. In a brawl, the one with the quickest reaction time usually wins, and in that regard Isaac tries his damndest to be the first to draw his gun or blade when it needs to be drawn. Everything after that's a simple negotiation. Magic Name(s): Whispers of The Deep Type(s): Elemental Manipulation––Shadow (Supportive, Subtle Offense) Proficiency: 3 Rank: 3 Description(s): The history of the Mikado Clan is steeped in mystery, complicated and obfuscated by centuries of storytelling. But amid all the annals of previous generations of clan members lies a singular common theme: Blood and Shadow. Every successive Clan Master inherits the weight of their forebears, and in the process, transcend into something more. This power do they share with their soldiers, in a symbolic display of solidarity; their lives belong to the Clan, and so too does the Clan enrich their lives. Many paths do these soldiers take, with the blessings they have been brought; in the case of Isaac, it takes him to tread the depths of the Unknown, and harness what emerges from the Deep. In this regard, Isaac's abilities mainly revolve around deception, disguise, and misinformation, with a large emphasis on supportive techniques over other techniques, alongside a mild smattering of indirect offensive abilities. Darkness is a tool rather than a weapon for Isaac, a means to an end rather than the result. Techniques: 3/5 One With The Shadows - 3 Type: Supportive, 1 Stat Buff (ACU) Range: Self Effect: For as long as Isaac is in possession of this power, stays in the shadows, and avoids drawing attention to himself, he can draw upon the abilities of The Deep to increase his acumen. That which is dark turns as clear as day. However he is haunted by voices, visions and even feels as if something is touching him from the uncharted lands of beyond for as long as he remains in said shadow. (Increases Acuity by 20) Duration: 4 posts. Cooldown: 2 posts. Cantrips Curse Bolt - 2 Type: Offensive Range: 5 meters Effect: A simple offensive attack that deals (light) psychic damage, Isaac manifests a pulse of concentrated dark matter from his hand, measuring around 4 inches. However, this requires an attack to an unarmored portion of an opponent. Duration: 1 post. Cooldown: Instantaneous Tread The Underworld - 2 Type: Movement Range: Self Effect: By treading the borders of The Deep, Isaac can step into a shadow and reappear anywhere within 5 meters of his last location. However, this in turn requires a line of egress, alongside a reaction speed of (10). Duration: 1 post. Cooldown: Instantaneous

Brave Galaxy is set in a world loosely based on Hiro Mashima’s Fairy Tail and Eden’s Zero. It is a PG-13 or so rated space fantasy RP, and uses a combination of character statistics, which can be acquired via roleplaying and events, and creative freedom to help direct players’ characters. While there is a main storyline, which can be found in the events section, characters are free to interact with others and their environment however they see fit.
