Yes, I am turning into a crazy cat lady. No, I don't care.

It was a warm summer night on the planet of Poinsettia, a breeze drifting in from the nearby lake as partygoers assembled. It was a small gathering, about a dozen or so people mingling about the stone patio, quaint lantern light illuminating the space. Only a dozen or so people, yes, there was no one to get to know, only familiar faces and laughter abounded. Galas and jamborees be damned, this was the true definition of a party, and it was certainly welcome in contrast to the other events Leo and Eris had attended lately. Excluding Arthur, who he swore never wore anything but a suit, everyone was dressed in casual attire, which almost felt strange considering how long it had been on a relative scale. Strange was fine though, better even.
"Cecil, since when did you have a cabin?" Eris asked the man standing next to him, drawing Leo away from his thoughts. Tall and well built, with brown hair and green eyes, the aforementioned Cecil was the owner of the small property in the woods, and also the host of the party. Of course, the latter would be difficult to tell, for other than his commanding presence there was no hosting being done. Typical, but at least that was being made up for by a cook-off between Sebastian and Elijah, which Leo had been invited to participate in and had promptly declined despite Eris's poking. Yes, he was willing to embarrass himself, but not that much.
"Oh, about six months ago. It's a nice change of pace from the city; you two should try it," Cecil replied.
He snorted. "Yeah, why do you think we live on a cliff?"
There was a faint chuckle from the man. "Fair point, I think I get it now."
"Of course you do! It just means you're getting old like us!" Eris exclaimed with a grin, the joke quite clear to anyone who happened to be paying attention at that moment. In response, Cecil muttered something that sounded like 'oh dear', although it was hard to tell. Before Eris could jab at him further, however, another event unfolded between the friends gathered.
