Name: Aedris Tallund
Nickname/Alias: N/A Age: 22 Gender: Male Height: 6’2” Weight: 186lbs Race: Human Organization: None Rank: D [0 REP] Orientation: Straight Alignment: Lawful Neutral Appearance Physical Description: At just over six foot, Aedris is easy enough to point out in a crowd. A young-looking man with a toned muscular frame from the training he has undertaken with his weapon, it is clear to see he can hold his own in a fight. Usually carrying himself with purpose and a reserved sense of dignity, it is obvious from his gait that he in no pauper. The mage is a slightly more tanned individual, this being achieved naturally from his time outside. His skin tone complimenting the light auburn hair atop his head, reaching down to ear length and from time to time connecting with a hint of five o’clock shadow if he hasn’t shaved for a day or two. Not that he usually lets himself look overly unkempt if possible. His soft blue eyes and angular features would make him a hit in human society; however, growing up amongst xenophobic elves he is oblivious to this fact. A usually playful smirk also helps make him more approachable than others who would share his slightly more broad-shouldered frame. For the most part he would be talked about as being good looking, but an obvious worker of sorts. Calloused hands and numerous silver lined scars crossing his body show that he has been at the receiving end of a blade, and at times aircraft debris; a long superficial scar down the right side of his face clear for all to see. Despite these imperfections and the odd very fain freckle; he is normal enough not to warrant too many odd stares if people pass by him quickly in a crowd. Well kept, well-mannered and a warrior’s appearance through and through; it would not be unheard of people thinking in was in the business of historical re-enactments back from the Earthland days, or into the live action sort of role playing. Or the odd comment would suggest one could think of him as a more eccentric styled soldier; either way it is obvious that he is human, much to his own dismay during his younger years. Clothing: Aedris may be a mage, but he is far from the book slinging, robe wearing cliché heard about in stories of old. Normally clad in a dark silver set of armour covering his arms and legs along with a large battle axe strapped across his back; the Stellan raised man can come off a little intimidating for sure. Whilst the cold is no issue for his skill set, Aedris does like to dress to stay warm. Donning clothes that are a little thicker than the normal, sometimes even fur lined. Partially to hide the cuirass and hide pants below, but also as he enjoys the style. His usual outfit comprises of a fur lined linen top and pants; simple is pattern and usually coloured with a singular base hue. Usually gravitating towards the reds, dark greys and blues; he has once or twice been seen to throw on a neon coloured green if in a whimsical mood. Due to the traveling nature of his new profession, Aedris also often wears a few sturdy and well-placed packs. With little room on his back due to that large weapon, these packs are held firmly against his waist with an assortment of clasps and leather straps. Also, around his waist is a medium length fur lined hide; just big enough to be used as a cover if fate found him on a cold night under the stars; and once again adding to the warrior image he has gravitated towards. In the rare occasion where he does go for the casual approach; the mage finds the time-honoured garb of a T-shirt and pants to be the most reliable way to go. But besides from bathing and sleeping; you’d be forgiven for thinking he only owned a single outfit. Picture: Personality Aedris is often referred to as a kind and quiet soul. A person who does not cause undue harm to others and who does not try and dominate a room for attention. He sits back, helping where he can if he does not inconvenience himself too much in the process. A humble soul who finds solace in self reflection rather than attempting to flaunt his achievements to others. He acts as his upbringing would dictate. Being a human in Elven society, humility was a way to survive; undue attention caused undue trouble. He could make an ally by helping but would be careful not to martyr himself in the process. A pragmatic man with a very realistic out view on life; everyone wants something, it’s not bad if that something isn’t going to negatively impact him. Social situations are a little trickier, whilst Aedris is more than happy to go along with the merriment, sometimes he does find himself getting a little too tipsy in the process. Being a little of a loud drunk he ensures that these times are only amongst good company and in very sparing measure. Able to laugh at himself and go along with a joke, he finds it easy to have people gravitate towards him but is cautious not to open too much even to those who he would call friends. Whilst combat the mage is usually cautious and meticulous with his approach; whilst not the best strategist. Aedris does employ pre-existing plans to his fights, playing from experience and his strengths to try and turn a bad situation into a winning one. Whilst not one to shy away from battle, Aedris is a person who would only enter the fray if required. There is little point in throwing away his life for zealotry when he can either wait out a foe or avoid the fight all together if not beneficial for him. In the end, Aedris is a quiet creature of habit. Slow to trust but quick to turn if a situation is hopeless. Honour is a word people use to impose their principles upon others; Aedris follows his own rules and expects nobody else to be tied to his moral compass. Whilst not evil, nor is he altruistic; every action must have cause and there is no better cause than living, but helping people from time to time isn’t out of the question if there is nothing else to do. History Aedris doesn’t recall much of his earlier years. He expects them to have been rather mundane; likely having two loving parents who most probably worked middle level jobs. Leaving him with either minders or grandparents during the time they went to work, earning just enough to pay off mortgages and save for that next slightly disappointing family holiday. Growing up it’s probable that he had enough attention for a child to feel loved, but like most kids his age would have been left to the time-tested babysitter of a light up screen filled with bright and colourful cartoons. That was a good enough guess for him; nothing too tragic or extraordinary. Life would have been normal; not great, not bad. Just good. At least if his guess was correct, as he could not remember anything before the day of the crash. Loud blaring of sirens and the deafening moans sounds of metal tearing from metal, these were his earliest memories. The freezing winds whipping around his face, followed by flames and white-hot pain. The panicked screams of other people, only fading when he was pulled into the inky blackness of unconsciousness. And finally, the cold and harsh pain of waking up on a stretcher with ribs cracked and face covered in blood, not able to even breath through the agony. It was a memory he wished had been forgotten like all those that came before it. Over the skies of Stella two passenger ships had collided; burning wreckage and corpses plummeting into the ocean off the north tree. In total there were about 100 confirmed deaths, and another 50 who had been classed as dead in absentia. Of the nearly 200 passengers only 15 people survived, just. A few VIPs who had been ascending to atmospheric exit height in their luxury cruiser and the rest a mix of refugees and travellers who were catching the last few flights onto the world before the no-fly zone was enforced nearer the departure of the High Priest. It was this crash that a five-year-old Aedris survived. It was this crash that left him on a foreign planet without family, without memory and without home. It was an event that shook many on the citizens of Stella, one that would mark the start of Aedris’ new life, as his old one had died and been forgotten in the tragedy that occurred on the bleak night just north of Neo Elen. ***** The months after the crash were lonely and painful ones for the boy who had been severely injured. Most days were spent undergoing some sort of treatment to help heal the broken bones and larges wounds scattered across his body. Despite being a human on Stella, the Elves spared no expense to help the healing process, employing both state-of-the-art medical techniques and magic to knit the poor boy back together. The crash was a national tragedy, even the purists had little wiggle room in trying to expel the small number of injured humans before they were fully recuperated. After the physical healing had been completed, the boy was moved into a nearby orphanage. Close enough to the hospital to continue the rehabilitative work needed, but no longer under constant care of the experts who had looked after him for the several weeks prior. The orphanage was run privately by an older elf everyone referred to as the Matron. A woman with little patients for disorder, and even less for humans. Despite her cruel treatment of the other human children, she left the injured boy alone for the most part; allowing him to focus on the gruelling tasks of learning to walk again. This in turn alienated him from the other children. The humans thought of him as the enemy due to his special treatment and the elves thought of him as lesser; combined with the fact he had still not regained any memory from before the crash and did not even recall his own language. The boy was alone. Just over a year since the incident occurred, the young boy had recovered enough to be able to walk and run without much issue. Language still evaded him for the most part, but he had been able to pick up enough words to make simple requests and answer the most basic of questions. At this point there was no need to keep him so close to the hospital; he would be moved away so another injured child who was being rehabilitated could take his place. That meant a trip to another orphanage, a trip on a ship. Frozen in front of the transporter, arms twisted around a pole so tightly that he was bruising himself. There were little the adults could do to calm the child who was obviously scarred of a repeat of his last time on a vessel like this. The only way they were able to calm him was by sedating the child. A senior consultant from the nearby hospital being called to administer the tranquiliser. ***** When he awoke, he found himself in a room much different than any of the others he had been in. A younger woman sitting to one side on a scenic windowsill was the only other person around. A large change from the cramped confines or the orphanage or bustling halls of the hospital. It took some time for her to find a way to explain to the seven-year-old with only a basic understanding of any language that she was a doctor and would be caring for him for a time. The woman who was an expert in shock and mental trauma had taken interest in the child who she had been called out to sedate that day. Finding out more about his background, she was adamant she could help with the final stages of recovery that everyone else seemed to be ignoring. The shock and mental anguish the child had gone through. Over the next few years, she counselled, taught and cared for the child like a son; eventually calling him Aedris after her own great grandfather. Helping him to learn the language of the planet as well as the commonly spoken Fioran. It was a slow process, but one that she enjoyed, bonding closely with her now adoptive child and giving him the love and attention, he needed to adjust to the world. Once Aedris. It was a shock of course, a highly respected Elf choosing to take in a human. But she gave it little thought, nor did her husband who had come to think of Aedris as his own. A member of the clergy, Aedris’ adoptive father was quick to teach him the ways of Stella beyond simply language and names, making sure he understood the importance of respect of tradition and the world around them. It was an odd place for him to grow up; taking the family name Tallund, he was meant to have respect shown to him. But as a human he was thought of as lesser. An odd dichotomy, but one that he faced every day. His family did not mention his race, but once he walked into any street in the capital, the air of distain for him was palpable; a thick fog of seething distrust followed him wherever he went outside. Over the years, the young child became a handsome young man; a well-mannered reflection of his now parents, aware but unphased by the undue judgement that he had grown up with. Following through with their expectations of tradition, Aedris respected the customs of his family and the Elven way of life as much as he was allowed; he trained with his older adoptive brother in combat. Learning how to masterfully wield a range of weapons to join the guard and serve his families people; although he would be unable to be assigned to higher level official dues to his race, there was talk about allowing humans of exceptional character in. Talk that eventually faded by the time he was ready to enlist. ***** With little left in the way of careers on Stella without joining the human Militia or another human lead body upon the planet. These often finding themselves bankrupt within a few months, a lack of funding options on the planet for any none elf or nymph run organisation being the main causes. Aedris was forced to look further afield. A very frightening flight later, the young man found himself on the soils of Crocus in the Federation of Fioran states. His ability to speak 2 languages fluently gave him a good start to find work as a translator. Joining a small firm, he was positioned in the financial quarter, mainly translating documents for their legal and HR departments. But only three months into his posting, an independent audit was conducted, and found that there were many issues in the tax reporting of the company. Aedris lost his job there and then along with most of the company; the higher ups scarpering what funds they could to cover the discrepancy and dissolving the rest of their assets to leave the planet before they could be arrested. Due to the stigma surrounding it, there was little other work he or his former colleagues were able to find in the financial sector. Not wanting to return home to suffer the same prejudice he experienced from the elves outside of his adoptive family. The young man thought it best to fall back on this other skill; combat. With the aim of being self-sufficient, Aedris started looking into the mercenary guilds and militias of the region. Hoping to make a name for himself then join one of these organisations with enough respect that he could live a comfortable life. He didn’t want to admit to his parents just yet that he was unable to make it on his own after only a few months away. He would put what skills he had to use; after all he could accept jobs that other people couldn’t even read. Equipment & Items Name: Poleaxe Class: C Description: Aedris’ primary weapon is a 2m long poleaxe. The body is made of a black carbon fibre material to help support the large metallic crescent cutting blades mounted near one end of the rod. The front blade measures 0.4m from tip to tip and juts out a good 30cm from the main body of the poleaxe. The back blade being much smaller in design, measuring only half the size of its forward-facing sister. Finally the main shaft is topped with a 10cm long protruding spike, the well-crafted point crowing the weapon in deadly glory. Effect/Function: This weapon has no additional magical or technological effects. Name: Armour Class: C Description: Often being forced to fight up close and personal, Aedris supports this fighting style with a set of assorted armour pieces. Both arms are encased in a darkened silver coloured metal, covering from his hands and ending at his shoulders in an almost flared pauldrons, decorated in gold with his adoptive family crest. The armour comes with additional pieces to cover his feet and lower legs, this time ending at his knees in similarly flared poleyne, however unlike his shoulders they are left plain from additional accents The final and less visible pieces of the armour are a cuirass and leggings. The cuirass is once again made of a darkened silver material offering little in the way of decoration. Simply serving to protect his torso from blows. This armour has been designed to be worn under clothing; with very few accents found. Minimalize the risk of catching on fabric when moving. Unlike the check piece, the remaining covering for the legs is made of a toughed hide material. Tanned in colour, the leather is once again designed to remain hidden under other fabric and has little in the way of decoration. Expertly crafted to not hindrance to movement, limit the weight of the armour set and to ensure a degree of comfort on hotter days where metal would be much more bothersome. Effect/Function: This armour set has no additional magical or technological effects. Name: Crampons Class: D Description: Finding a footing on ice can be difficult, however Aedris often wears a set of crampons attached to the base of his armoured feet. This attachment comprised of a set of fifteen 0.5cm long spike on the sole of each foot; designed in such a way to help with grip when upon ice and if climbing softer rocky materials. Effect/Function: This utility item has no additional magical or technological effects. Stats - 100 Toughness: 15 Acuity: 15 Power: 35 Speed: 15 Magical Strength: 10 Magical Fortitude: 10 Earned Stat Points Earned: 0/0 Arc Points Earned: 0/0 Credits Earned: 10,000/10,000 Sources Character Creation 10,000 Credits Skills & Disciplines Bilingual – Due to his rather more colourful upbringing, Aedris is fluent in both Elvish and Fioran, as well as it’s less heard Stellan dialect. Besides the occasional hiccup, he finds it easy to translate between the two both written, and aurally; using this skill to some success on one of his earlier career paths. Advanced Combat Training – His weapon isn’t only for show. During his younger years in the Republic of Stella, Aedris was able to train to a high degree of proficiency with a pole axe. His skills being limited by physical boundaries rather than technique. He can swing numerous forms of bladed weapon with a mix of martial grace, and deadly elegance as naturally as he breathes. Using this more primitive weapon also has honed his awareness of the battlefield, as in many situations Aedris is forced to rely on the landscape and tactics to gain the upper hand, especially in a universe where even the most lowly of recruits can stumble upon a blaster and outrange him severely. Magic Name: Frozen Heart Type: Elemental Manipulation - Ice Proficiency: 2 Rank: 2 Description(s): Using an almost spiritual connection to the primordial realm of ice and snow, Aedris is able to channel the magics of tundra and blizzard. This frozen affinity gifts him with the power to form and shape ice. As well as allowing him to use the artic material to cover and strengthen objects, including his own blood. His magical gift reduces his susceptibility to the cold, and aids in the healing of his own wounds. But, this magic truly excels when being utilised for its destructive capabilities, allowing Aedris to call forth icy energies to either encase, impale or tear at his targets with sworded ice or frozen blasts. If those are ineffective, he can channel the power of the snowstorm and artic frosts to buffet and chill both his foes, and everything around them, until they succumb to the frozen touch of Niflheim. As in the end everything shall freeze over and only those who thrive in the cold can survive. Techniques: 5/5 Niflheim - Rank 2 Spell Type: Offensive - AoE Range: 10m Radius Effect: Summoning the magical energies of ice and snow, Aedris is able to call forth a flurry of frost magic to burst outwards around himself in an area up to 10m in radius. The initial frozen blast will buffet anything around the mage causing light damage to everything in its path. After this, the area remains affected by a magically induced snow storm and can cause air temperature to drop to near freezing when used in a mild climate. For the next 2 posts the remaining magical energy swirl uncontrollable in the form of a light flurry of snow in the affected area. Those who stay within the cold confines of Niflheim will find themselves taking light damage every post they remain. Once this effect has come to an end Aedris must realign himself with the frozen realm; unable to summon forth the awaiting blizzard for another 4 posts. Flash Point - Rank 2 Spell Type: Offensive Range: Touch Effect: Imbuing either himself or an object he is currently holding with icy energy, Aedris is able to give it the potential to call forth a flurry of frozen spikes when impacting something. When the enchanted object collides with another, the spell is released, summoning the flurry of icicles to burst forward. The spell covers the stricken surface in a straight line of dagger like tips for up to 20m or until the frozen stalagmites meet something else (forming a moving wall of ice attached to what was touched), with the final impact of the enchantment causes moderate damage to a singular target. The icicles are summoned in forward facing clusters that can cover a width of up to 30cm and can measure the same in length. Being little more than frozen water after the impact, the ice remains until melted by natural, technological or magical means. The enchantment lasts for a single post and ends early if the enchanted objects is used successfully or leaves Aedris’ grasp. Once used or if dissipated, the spell may not be called upon for another 4 posts. Frozen Blood - Rank 1 Spell Type: Passive Range: Self Effect: Due to the freezing effects of his magic, Aedris’ blood has become permanently chilled. This magical quirk has made the mage able to withstand temperatures as low as -10ºC caused from natural sources or his own magic for elongated periods of time with little to no detriment. The ice mage also benefits from the thickening of his blood due to this icy acclimation. Finding that his body’s natural clotting and healing is enhanced by up to 25% more than his species natural capacity. This increased rate of healing is equivalent to reversing the effects of a single light wound over 6 posts. Glacial Touch – Rank 1 Cantrip Type: Utility Range: Touch Effect: With a simple touch from either his skin or something in contact with him, Aedris is able to lower the temperature of an object by a fair amount; even causing room temperature water to turn to ice after being touched. With his current skill, Aedris finds himself pushing his upper limits after creating a thin film up to 2m in radius; only being able to hold the lightest of objects upon its frozen surface. The Ice mage may also chill other materials in a similar fashion, causing light damage to organic matter if this spell comes in contact with it. At this time Aedris can use this cantrip a single time per post.

Brave Galaxy is set in a world loosely based on Hiro Mashima’s Fairy Tail and Eden’s Zero. It is a PG-13 or so rated space fantasy RP, and uses a combination of character statistics, which can be acquired via roleplaying and events, and creative freedom to help direct players’ characters. While there is a main storyline, which can be found in the events section, characters are free to interact with others and their environment however they see fit.
