Brave Galaxy is set in a world loosely based on Hiro Mashima’s Fairy Tail and Eden’s Zero. It is a PG-13 or so rated space fantasy RP, and uses a combination of character statistics, which can be acquired via roleplaying and events, and creative freedom to help direct players’ characters. While there is a main storyline, which can be found in the events section, characters are free to interact with others and their environment however they see fit.

While Manna cycles through shirts, pants, and shoes, there are two items he is almost never without. His black hooded jacket, and his red scarf. [break][break]Personality [break]Brash, confident, and independent, Manna is perhaps the prototypical teenage rebel. A lack of respect for authority, tendency to commit petty crimes, and a propensity for loitering, all lend to his reputation as a degenerate. The boys 'too cool' for others attitude and mean mug have dissuaded people from approaching him in the past and so he has not made many friends. Despite his reputation, Manna is slow to anger and can be very patient at times. He picks and chooses when to speak as he does not like wasting words, though he will often make exceptions to deliver a snide remark or two. Manna's youth often shows in his naivety as to how the world truly functions. To say he doesn't work well with others is an understatement as the boy refuses to walk any path but his own. At times Manna even intentionally pushes people away for fear of connection, a byproduct of his parental issues. Often he fails to take things seriously and is pretty unbothered by most situations he finds himself in. Insults, slights, and trauma seem to leave him unfazed, when in reality he simply lacks to maturity to properly express himself in front of others. It is because of this that he's promised himself never to cry again, and will go to great lengths if it means avoiding confronting his feelings. Sometimes this can make him come off as particularly grumpy as the easiest way to deal with his problem he's found, is to hit something or someone. While not entirely irrational when in this state, Manna does not always possess the strength of character to resist lashing out.
[break][break]History [break]Manna's earliest memories are of his mother. While there is not much he remembers about her; the distant image of a smiling, silver haired, crimson eyed, woman reading to him haunts his dreams. While the memory itself is one of warmth it only serves as a harsh reminder that Manna is alone. For reasons unknown to anyone his mother just simply left one day and never returned. As an accomplished mage and respected scholar it was apparently normal for his mom to leave on adventures throughout the galaxy, however nobody ever knew much about where she'd go. Dead or alive she left Manna alone in the care of elementium miners from a small village in the Isborn-Bellumese Commonwealth. As if losing his one relative wasn't bad enough the boy further stood out for his ethnic differences. [break][break]Fioran was his first language and Boscan was his second simply because those were the languages his mother spoke best. The somewhat underdeveloped version of Isellium she had initially taught him to speak made him standout amongst other kids in the village. He didn't learn to speak it fluently until he began spending more time in the care of his neighbors, where he would spend weeks waiting for his mom to return from her latest excursion. It was on one of those stays where he first manifested magical abilities and nearly burned down the house in the process. The family he was staying with refused to care for him after that and so his mother would begin to leave him with the local temple instead. There Manna first gained some semblance of control over his magic, and there is where he first began to take an interest to reading. Ultimately the temple gates would be the last place he'd see his mother, abandoned at just five years old. [break][break]Once the temple realized his mom was likely never going to return they quickly looked to find him a more permanent home. He bounced around place to place as friends of his mother did what they could to support him, but their generosity would only last so long. Inevitably he ended up in an orphanage. Once he turned thirteen he was able to claim what his mother had left to him by birthright, a small house just outside of town and all her belongings. There he would spend many a night trying to understand his mothers writings, searching desperately for a clue as to where she had gone. While he read what he could many of her writings the boy simply could not understand despite trying. The towns library was not extensive and the temple's scriptures had only gotten him so far. At one point Manna planned to move to the big city and hire a tutor to help him understand everything. He even got a job to finance this plan, but was eventually dissuaded by the cost and time it would take. [break][break]After getting fired from every 'shitty' job he could find in the village Manna took to stealing simply to feed himself. He was caught several times but never faced serious consequences as a minor who everyone knew to be orphaned. Eventually he got pretty good at it and slowly began to move up from shop lifting to home invasion. His magic gave him an edge over anybody looking for trouble and pretty soon he was known as the villages local bully. Nearly everyone was afraid of him and simply walking down the street meant facing hateful stares and petty whispers. Eventually Manna to began to loathe the town and his need to escape it has begun to intensify with every passing day. Once he figures out how to get a star ship Manna plans to fly away in search of his mother and hopefully never look back.
[break][break]Equipment & Items [break]Emperors Cloak- A Class [break]A protective aura of flames that cover the entirety of Manna's body; this blazing red armor exists in an almost symbiotic capacity to Manna. While not being a part of him the protective flames do indeed come from within Manna and can be retracted at anytime. Despite being entirely made of fire, the armor is not inherently hot, and in fact does not smoke. The armors flames are not very intense, and are translucent enough to make out the entirety of Manna's form under them. The flames appear most intensely around the boys shoulders hands, and head. This armor is weightless and is able to repair itself once every 2 posts.

Far from a master thief however, Manna relies on talent and experience more than any practiced skills. The boy has a knack for intimidation and he wields it as a tool to impose his will on others without resorting to violence. Stories from the past once kept him company at night, and the endless possibilities of magic have always captured his imagination. While books are few and far between, the varied writings, stories, and observations in his mothers journal have proved quite informative in an array of areas. He is well versed in history especially as he spent much of his childhood reading scrolls from his villages temple. [break][break]Trilingual: Manna's mother spoke many languages however she was most fluent in Fioran and Boscan, and so those were the two languages Manna learned to speak first. The version of Isellium she had initially taught him was broken and somewhat outdated, it didn't become fluent in it until much after he was already reading and writing in the other two. While a bit rusty nowadays, Manna can read and write in all three of those languages proficiently enough to pass as a native speaker, tho he may struggle to hide his accent depending on which language he'd been using most recently.

[break]Name(s): Flame Imperial [break]Type(s): Fire Magic [break]Proficiency: 3 [break]Rank: 3 [break]Description(s): True to his roots Manna has inherited a potent form of fire magic from his mother. The full extent of his capabilities remains a mystery as he lacks any formal training, but still he has grown to understand the magics basic characteristics. Manna has come to learn that his own flames do not necessarily behave like normal fire. He can determine who and what they burn regardless of what they touch, and even use them to form limited defensive barriers. Offensively, this is a very capable magic however the high firepower comes at the cost of precision. Many of the magics attacks deal splash damage and while Manna can control what burns there is always the relatively high potential for collateral damage. However despite being inherently destructive, the magics offense is perhaps over shadowed by its versatility. Through his fire Manna can recover faster from wounds, fortify his body against harm, empower himself physically and perhaps most impressively; imbue others with some of his power. While not as varied as the healing/strengthening spells he casts on himself, Manna has the limited capacity to support others when needed. He has also found that while he is able to manipulate conventional flames, the degree to which he is able to alter a normal fire's properties vastly differs from the degree to which he can affect his own. For example while Manna can manipulate the intensity, temperature, and form a conventional fire takes, he is not able to bestow it with magical properties such as healing or strengthening. These abilities are strictly reserved for the fire he creates. Finally possession of this magic does not make him fireproof but rather flame-retardant to the degree of being unbothered by non magical fire. All flames generated by Manna also take on an abnormal color, flickering between hues of purple, pink, and red, which can be a somewhat telling sign that this magic is being used.

[break]Features: At first glance Matteo is no different than any full-blooded human. With a head full of messy black hair and lighter skin he fits in with humanity well. The only obvious sign of his mixed heritage can be found in his eyes, which are a peculiar shade of silver. The numerous scars all over his body stand out more than the color of his eyes however, many parts of him have been damaged to the point of near disfigurement. From the elbow down nearly his entire left arm is covered in scar tissue, and both his knuckles and fingers have been warped from several dislocations and fractures. The worst of the scarring is perhaps on his back which features several jagged blotches where he had once been impaled. Many of those same scars have counterparts on the front of his body, most notably the scar located directly on the small of his back which mirrors the one around his navel.
[break][break] Garments: Partial to practicality Matteo often dresses according to the job of the day. Generally, he likes to keep it simple with breathable undershirts, simple trousers, and a pair of boots. Aside from his belt, he doesn’t wear many accessories, the only form of jewelry coming in the form of a necklace with a white crystal hanging from the chain. The simplicity in his wardrobe stems from his tendency to wear armor over his clothes, removing the need for much stylization.

[break][break]Átahsaia; the Liars Blade- C-Class [break] Not much is known about this strange weapon but it is said to have been crafted from the corpse of Átahsaia the Silver-Tongued Cannibal, an ancient man-eating demon whose thirst for flesh eventually lead him to consume a god. As punishment, his body and soul were ground to a fine powder and eventually used to forge a blade for the Berserker of Ilkstad. According to legend, all who wield this blade eventually develop a thirst for blood comparable to that of the demons and in some cases are said to even develop its taste for human flesh. Many consider this to be a cursed blade because of the rumors, and all who recognize it know to be wary as it is considered an evil item. Made entirely of an unknown black metal, this strange-looking blade is 40 inches in length and weighs a heavy 10 lbs. The guard is fashioned like a cross, with black metal wrapping around it from the grip and into the blade. While still black at its base the sword's guard features a white ivory-like overlay with ancient inscriptions carved into it branching out in all four directions. The blade itself is single-edged has a curved tip similar to that of a katana.
[break][break]Mage Attire- C-Class [break] Sleek, classy, and stylish, this armor is built for the traveling mage. Mixing up blacks, grays, and silvers, this armor was clearly built with a bend towards stealth and speed. A mixture of durable thread and metal, much of the armor is lined with a red cloth that shows through at many of the joints. The shoulder plates and gauntlet on his right hand are the bulkiest parts of the armor, with the rest of the metal having been selectively placed to allow for maximum mobility. This armor weighs 10 lbs.

[break][break]Name: Contract of the Keres [break]Type: Takeover [break]Proficiency: 3 [break]Rank: 3 [break]Description: Angels of death and malevolent valkyries, the Keres are a race of extra-planar beings that reap the souls of Cambions. Occasionally these beings will offer their power in exchange for something, allowing mortals to channel the Keres’ magic as if it were their own. A plague upon the battlefield, this magic excels at weakening others physically and magically while simultaneously unleashing powerful attacks. To put it simply, this is death magic. In addition to debuffs, this magic is also capable of casting other debilitating techniques such as blinding, binding, paralyzing, or even cursing a target. Many of the attacks affect a person's soul/spirit in addition to their physical beings, allowing Matteo to leech power from his enemies.
[break][break]Keresite Blessing- 3 [break]Type: Takeover [break]Range: Self [break]Effect: Enveloped by the Keres’ black magic both Matteo’s mind and body are altered too that of a cold-blooded warrior. A skull-like mask grows atop his face, covering all but his lower jaw as his identity becomes battle itself. He can maintain this form for up to four posts but must rest 3 before activating it again. While its dimensions are the same as his normal hands, this arm can stretch up to 10 feet and be retracted as needed. This arm behaves similarly to a chain weapon or whip, and its fingers are capable of cutting like claws.
[break][break] Skull Mask- C Class [break]A simple black mask that looks like a skull. It covers all but Matteo's lower jaw and features two red lines that cut through the eye sockets.
[break][break]Thanatosis- 3 [break]Type: Binding [break]Range: 15m [break]Effect: By unleashing his murderous aura Matteo is able to activate a base survival instinct in anyone around him with thirty or less magical fortitude, reducing them to a shock-like state in which they are unable to move or even speak for three posts. Matteo must wait for three posts in order to cast this again.
[break][break]Trepedatious Nature- 3 [break]Type: Debuff [break]Range: 15m [break]Effect: Cast in tandem with Thanatosis this spell fills those around him with crippling dread, reducing the speed and acuity of up to three people by 18 for three posts. This spell has a cool down of three posts.
[break][break]Phantom Claw- 3 [break]Type: Utility [break]Range: 45m [break]Effect: Empowering his phantasmal appendage Matteo alters the arms properties, making both its power and speed thirty as well as allowing the hand itself to expand to the size of a small boulder. This spell lasts for three posts and has a cooldown of three posts.
[break][break]Name: God Biter [break]Type: Sword Magic [break]Proficiency: 3 [break]Rank: 3 [break]Description: Granted to the one who wields Átahsaia, this magic is thought by many to be a curse. Many of its powers and abilities come directly from the myth, and so to understand this magic one must understand the story behind it. In life, Átahsaia was a man-eating demon infamous for his silver-tongue and tricking travelers into a trap. No matter how many people he ate the demon's hunger would never cease and so he sought bigger and better meals. Eventually, the demon crossed paths with a traveling god and so he set his trap. Disguising a giant pot as a hot spring, Átahsaia convinced the hermit god to rest in the water. Once the god fell asleep, Átahsaia boiled him alive and ate him like soup. For his sin, the demon was ground into a fine powder by the other gods and cast down to Earth, where the Berserker of Ilkstad would eventually gather his remains and form them into a sword. Taking on several properties of its namesake, the blades magic is a mix of vampirism, blade alteration, and divine power. Its vampiric abilities allow Matteo to heal and buff himself whenever the blade draws blood. The sword itself is also bloodthirsty in nature, as the blade seems to be able to seek out its enemies through this ability. The sword is also capable of altering its form drastically. It can extend, sharpen, retract, widen, to the point of behaving more like a whip than a sword. Finally, the swords' divine nature allows it to cut through magic and unleash magical waves.
[break]Bloodlust- 3 [break]Type: Holder [break]Range: Melee [break]Effect: Excited by the prospect of drawing blood, the blade sharpens itself in preparation for its meal. During the next two posts, the blades cutting and piercing abilities are greatly enhanced, allowing it to shred C class equipment and damage B class equipment. This has a cooldown of three posts.
[break][break]Liars Blade- 1 [break]Type: Cantrip [break]Range: 5m [break]Effect: Átahsaia, much like a lie, is fluid and ever changing. The blade is capable of altering its properties (size, length, shape) once per post. While in this state it can extend up to five meters and grow no heavier than 50 lbs.

This story begins in two different places, with two different people. This half starts in the dark cargo hold of a lumber ship headed for Chorus. There, tucked amongst the wood, sits a single man hellbent on redefining his future. Despite the steady streams of tears that had wet his cheeks for most of the trip, the stowaway was brimming with incessant determination. The man formerly known as Angelo Hurtado-Valentine had been born the son of a gambling-addicted blacksmith and had recently been sold into debt slavery in order to save his fathers life. Not wanting to become trapped by his father's poor decisions, Angelo ran away from home and snuck onto the next ship headed towards Chorus. Rumors of the planets ether rich mines had taken the galaxy by storm as thousands of people flocked to the backwater planet with dreams of opulence. The man shivering in the cargo hold was no different. With nothing but a handful of forged documents and some sketchy mining permits, the man now named Jasper Bolivar was headed for Chorus.
The other half of the story begins several years before Jasper is even born, on the now-dead planet of Earthland.

This is not to say Matteo lacks a friendly side, as at times he can be funny and playful, he simply prioritizes work over say partying. Normally he will only reserve his taunts for those he has acknowledged as equal in mind, spirit, or skill. Matteo believes that he can learn from others, and is endlessly curious when it comes to the world around him. His willingness to embrace new experiences and step out of his comfort zone compliments his thirst for knowledge, as well as his current line of work.
{Spoiler}Born the son of a miner and a demon, Matteo grew up on the once-rural planet or Chorus. Before the war people there lived a peaceful and simple life. Every day his father would leave to work in the mines while he and his mother tended to the chickens and ran errands at home. There was never much to do besides chores and hunting. When he wasn't working Matteo was out roughhousing with some of the other kids, ripping the clothes his parents had already repaired the day before. One could consider Matteo's childhood fairly normal, he had a loving family that raised him as best they could.
His father was obsessed with ensuring Matteo did not have to slave away in a mine as he had, and so he bent over backward to teach his son practical skills. Matteo's mother was well-read and controlled most of his education. She taught him to read and write in his youth and even showed him how to cook the animal he caught. Eventually, his mother, Illiana, would even train him to fight with a staff. Their practice sessions would get more and more intense as Iliana taught Matteo how to tap into the magic in his blood. She was the one who would introduce him to Xolotl the guardian wolf. At the time the spirit belonged to his mother, though he and Matteo did share a special bond.
Life was simple before the war. Those years of peacefully growing up in the countryside would never seem more distant in its aftermath. Caught in the middle of two great empires, Chorus, like much of the galaxy, was torn to shreds by a proxy war. Brother slew brother in a devastating conflict as new experimental magi-tech weapons were introduced, and millions of credits were spent on keeping the violence alive. Matteo's rural mining town fell victim to a vicious blitzkrieg in the middle of the day. Their target had been the mine, a key source of materials for the rebel faction. Matteo's mom left to hold them off while the boy rushed to find his father before it was too late. As the tanks rolled forward and the bombs continued to fall Matteo's search became more and more hopeless. The mines were sifting with dust and smoke, each strike of the orbital cannon threatening to collapse the entire cavern in on itself. Still, Matteo foolishly continued his search, and in the end, he was buried under the mountain.
By some miracle, Matteo managed to survive being buried alive. While his limbs had been crushed, and his organs smashed and punctured, somehow the boy clung to life. What sustained him was the very thing that had trapped him. The mine was extremely rich in elementium, and much of it had fallen ontop of Matteo. He was practically bathing in the pure magic extract. It seeped into every part of his being, keeping him from dying. For an untold amount of time, Matteo drifted somewhere between consciousness and death, his brain unable to process the situation. It would take years for him to regain any sense of self, and even longer than for his body to fully recover. Once he was his body was fully restored and his magic circuits repaired, he was able to take advantage of the abundant energy around him and escape. Supercharging his magic for an instant, Xolo was able to appear and create an expansive barrier large enough to lift the rubble up off of Matteo.
Despite spending five hundred plus years buried, Matteo hardly aged. The magical essence kept him youthful and more importantly healthy. He has been out of his prison for around three years now and is finally adjusted to life in the new era. He currently works as a hunter for the IMG.
Equipment & Items
Name: Hōfuku Class: C Description: A simple steel katana with a wooden hilt adorned in black wrappings and a black circular guard, this is the simple blade of a foot soldier. Once commonplace on the battlefield; there is little grandeur to the sword and its design. A trained eye may be able to identify it as an antique as it was crafted over five hundred years ago, but otherwise, it appears to be little more than the humble weapon of a peasant. As standard for blades of the era, Hōfuku's reach ends at 23.5 inches, and it weighs in at 2.65 pounds. Previously, Hōfuku was called Shuken by Matteo's father and served him to his final breath during the invasion of Chorus.
Name: Ancestral Armor Class: C Description: The remains of traditional Samurai armor interwoven with modern equipment, this entirely black suit weighs a light 4.6 pounds with most of the weight coming from the metallic shoulder and chest plates. It covers the entirety of his body, featuring a pair of boots and gauntlets crafted using the latest nanotechnology. This gives much of the armor a cloth-like appearance, masking its true durability to the naked eye.
Name: Tsuitō Class: D Description: A simple steel wakizashi built to pair with Hōfuku, this blade is just 12 inches long and weighs a light 1.3 pounds.
Name: Beast Body Class: D Description: Matteo's body is more durable than a humans due to his mixed heritage as a demon.
Skills & Disciplines Cooking: Matteo is a pretty decent chef. While not quite good enough to cook a gourmet meal, his basic home-style dishes are good enough to satisfy most. Perhaps more impressive than his simple cooking skills is his ability to prep a meal from scratch. He can skin, pluck, and clean most meals by himself, and tends to make the most out of minimal ingredients.
Hunting: With an extremely high natural affinity for it and years of practice, Matteo has become quite the adept hunter. As a half-wolf demon, he possesses an animal-like intuition when on the hunt, which compliments the skills he's developed over time. Matteo is excellent at masking his presence, stalking his prey, and ultimately finishing them off. His time as a hunter has also made him a well of information on many of the galaxy's creatures.

Xolo is even-tempered and patient, never getting too riled up no matter the situation. The wolf enjoys his downtime as well, and can often be found resting nearby when they aren't on the move.

Appearance Physical Description: Xavier's caramel skin, white hair, and emerald eyes all contribute to his unique appearance. His haircut is simple yet distinctive, with a temp fade keeping the sides short, and the top long. His hairline has been trimmed to a satisfying neatness, with sharp straight lines framing his face and head. The messy of white bush atop his head has not been cut to the same standard and so much of it falls into his face. While not long enough to touch his ears, the longer strands hang just above his natural line of sight. Framed by long eyelashes, X's eyes are naturally sharp, fierce, and intuitive causing him to suffer from what many know as 'resting bitch face'. It doesn't help that his brow naturally settles into a slight furrow, and his lips hold an indefinite pout. The boy's cheeks are still somewhat youthfully round, however, his chin and jaw have become more defined in recent years. Unlike the hair on his head, the hairs on Xavier's body and face are black. The boy is fit and in his physical prime, a fact that is often flaunted by the boy whenever he gets a chance to strip. His body is made up of long, athletic muscles, with those on his legs being the most impressive. His calves and thighs are the bulkiest muscles on his body due to years of dancing and have been built to maximize explosiveness.
Tattoos: Xavier has many tattoos of what appear to be tribal runes inscribed on much of his neck, and back. The runes are in reality a message written in the language of the priestesses. It is similar to the inscriptions found in ancient Auberen temples. Very few people are capable of translating the message, and X is incapable of reading it himself. The exact contents of the message are unknown to the boy, but according to his mother, it is a message to god.
Clothing: Possessing quite the strong fashion sense, Xavier has customized his uniform to fit his own personal tastes. The black jacket has been decked out with shiny zippers, strategically placed clips, and accents of both red and white. He's also sewn a hoodie to the inside of the jacket, and added a stylized prayer to the Warrior on the bottom of his left sleeve. Both of the jacket's shoulders prominently feature the insignia of Team Black, his current rank, and his clan all written in encrypted Signal. On the right side of the collar of the jacket, written in red, is Team Black's mantra; "Deeds, Not Words". On the opposite side of the collar, there is a strange barcode etched into the fabric on the interior of the jacket. This can be scanned read by most Elseimian scanners as proof of his identity and allegiance. The rest of the uniform is hardly as complicated as the jacket, maintaining a monotone black palette for both the pants and tank top. His shoes are also black, though they possess accents of red, grey, and of course the white of their soles.
Accessories: -A single red cross dangles from his right ear, a memento he keeps as a good luck charm and way to remember his sister. -X often wears a single gold ring around his right wrist. -At any given time Xavier is likely to have two bags on him. The first is a grey, red, and black messenger tote which is fastened tight enough to prevent movement and rests behind him at the bottom of his back. The clip for the larger bag doubles as a holster for his sheath, allowing him to neatly store his sword on his back. The smaller bag is closer to a fanny pack, and it sits on the front of his body just at the base of his chest. It too is fastened tight enough to prevent much movement and features two zip-up pockets of differing sizes.
Personality Despite the meanness in his face, X is known by his peers to be quite the fun-loving individual. His naturally cool demeanor and laidback vibe make him seem distant at times, but once you get to know him it becomes obvious he's just as knuckleheaded and talkative as many boys his age. For Xavier life is still an adventure to be conquered. He sees the wider universe as an infinite source of wonder and possibility which he hopes to experience to the very fullest. He is fearless in his pursuit of new experiences and possesses the same illusion of immortality many his age do. He takes risks and often looks death in the face without fully understanding its finality a sign, perhaps, that he still has room to mature. At times Xavier can be ignorant of the emotions of those around him, and may not even realize when he's hurt somebody's feelings. While not a bully, some of X's more foul moods can cause him to lash out verbally, and it is in that anger where he forgets to take other's feelings into account. While he doesn't always mean what is said in anger, he has a habit of cutting too close with his insults. This combined with the obvious difficulty he has in swallowing his pride and apologizing for his wrongdoings has burned many a bridge in the past. As he grows older X becomes increasingly capable of taking responsibility for his actions, though many of his apologies seem insincere because he still has a hard time getting the words out in an empathetical fashion.
While not a particularly outgoing individual, Xavier is personable enough to make friends provided he has a reason to talk to someone. Rarely does he go out of his way to make someone's acquaintance as he believes it is best to keep to himself if nobody is actively seeking his company. Sometimes he has a hard time fitting into new groups because of this, as he has a tendency to lurk in the background and stay quiet. This isn't to say X does not enjoy people's company, however, in fact, he often chastises himself for overthinking how best to make an introduction. He is acutely aware of his mean looking face and so he often wrongfully assumes that talking to people will only make them increasingly uncomfortable, thus his tendency to let others approach him first was born out of hesitation.
Xavier is easily his harshest critic and cares deeply about maintaining a certain appearance. His stylistic decisions and even his Auberen all reflect different parts of his personality. The flashy moves he uses in fights are not just meant to down his enemy, but to have him look cool while doing it. The uniqueness of his abilities is a great sense of pride for Xavier despite his refusal to heavily rely on them until the situation makes it absolutely necessary. He won't use his manifestation of the Auberen if he thinks he can win with his skills alone, even if his powers would make the job that much easier. To Xavier combat is an endless source of entertainment, though he draws an important distinction between when to enjoy himself and when to get serious. He finds joy in testing his metal against the galaxies finest and hopes to one day unlock the full extent of his abilities as a fighter and an Auber. X is loyal to his friends and statesmen, willing to go above and beyond at great personal cost for the sake of others. He is skeptical of authority but understands its necessity. While he doesn't rebel against every order he may disagree with; Xavier makes sure to try and think for himself.
{Childhood}A firecracker from birth, it didn't take long for Xavier to start exploring the bustling streets of Zrauthi Taryn. Accompanied by his twin sister Xiomara the two were an unstoppable pair. Their mother had to split her time with them with work at the temple, and so the two troublemakers were often left to their own devices. As a marine in the Elseimian Navy, the twin's father was deployed off-world for much of their childhood. He would only ever visit for months at a time, and once the war started with the invaders he was always on call. Xavier only has a few memories of the man since he died fighting the invaders shortly after X turned six. The twins quickly learned to rely on each other despite their constant bickering, and Xavier always made sure to keep an eye out for his sister.
When he wasn't running through the streets causing trouble Xavier was at the temple with his mother; helping out the priests with their various preparations and duties for the day. Xavier had always been interested in dance, and what started as mimicking his mother quickly turned into a passion which the boy pursued wholeheartedly. His natural talent for dancing was obvious from the very beginning, something his mother takes full credit for. Eventually, he began to dance more in the streets than in the temple walls, swapping war drums for subwoofers as he and the other aspiring Rhythm Dancers began to host their own competitions while the adults were off at the stadium.
The battles began as mere dance-offs, but as time passed and kids grew bolder, these rave-like parties became little more than a fight club. Xavier was one of the first to hop in the ring, relying on the traditional training moves he'd practiced with his mother. At first, he did well and was considered one of the stronger fighters in the group, but as they grew older and kids got bigger it was increasingly difficult for Xavier to overcome the difference in size. After getting beat down one too many times he finally decided to change his tactics, studying no only the traditional Zrauthi war dances, but also Rhythm Fighting as a martial art. While he had been jumping around in the temple Xiomara had devoted herself entirely to becoming a soldier. She was obsessed with avenging the death of their father, and so she did everything in her power to ensure she would be the perfect soldier. With her help, Xavier was able to grow into a more capable fighter and find new ways to excel in the ring.
{Adolescence and the Academy} Though the elders tried to hide it, the Silent War was taking its toll on everyone. By Xavier's eleventh birthday several of his classmates had lost parents to the war, and the government was even starting to call reserves back into active duty. As a precautionary step, the government began to expand the various military academies around Elseima, recruiting cadets planet-wide to be trained in the military capital of Khinsa. Xiomara argued with their mother daily, begging to be allowed to participate in the upcoming entrance exams. While Xavier was perfectly satisfied fighting the neighborhood kids at first, he soon grew sympathetic to his sister's cause. Hours Xio talking his ear off had gotten to him, and the temptation to fight Taryn's finest was too much to resist. The two of them ganged up on their mother, quoting the Zrauthian priests calls for courage and bravery until she finally cracked. Making the twins promise to look out for each other, she sent them to attend the entrance exam.
The exams were tough but together X and Xio managed to make it through. The first round was a simple written exam, but after that, they'd been put through a number of athletic tests and even a fighting tournament. While X had just managed to make the top fifteen, Xio finished top three in nearly every category. In the months following the exam, they would enroll at Ira Academy and move into the newly built dormitories across the planet in Verasi. Xavier struggled to adjust to the academy's strict military code at first, but a few long afternoons running laps in the afternoon sun for punishment was motivation enough to change his habits. While his sister was quickly welcomed into the ranks of the ass kissers and all-star cadets, Xavier found himself in cahoots with those who took their military duties a little less seriously. He and his group of friends quickly gained the reputation of troublemakers and were often singled out for punishment by teachers and drill sergeants alike. Still, X refused to fall behind his sister, working hard where he could to ensure she didn't leave him in the dust. While he was never able to match her report card, his hard work paid dividends in the field. Lacking the sheer talent of his sister, Xavier chose to keep up with her through late nights in the gym and hours spent practicing in the moonlight. He forced his friends to spar with him, and when he was no longer satisfied he moved onto stronger partners. By the end of the year, he'd gone from the middle of the pack to eighth in his class of thirty-six.
In their third years, both Xio and Xavier were recruited into a special course, designed for cadets with the skillset needed to be in the special forces. Undertaken a new training regiment implemented as a result of the unending war with the invaders, the two of them took their first steps towards becoming operatives. Swordplay and specialized martial arts training became the norm, and all of their professors were slowly replaced with decorated intelligence veterans. Several years of this training came to an end on the twin's sixteenth birthday. Both of them were able to manifest their abilities as Aubers, and so both of them declared active members of the Elseimian Special Forces. Shortly after they were assigned to the newly formed Elseimian Intelligence Division, and drafted into the ranks of Squadron Black with several of their classmates.
{The Silent War}Leadership was reluctant to send the young into the battle. While the war had been costly the leadership tried to relegate the new recruits to intelligence operations exclusively, and so Xavier spent most of his first year in service on the sidelines. In his second year, he experienced live combat for the first time at the age of seventeen on a mission carried out alongside the marine. While rarely showing up on full-blown battlefields, Squadron Black was responsible for much of the intelligence Elseimia was able to gather on enemy movements. They weren't a direct fighting force but at times their specializations utilized alongside other divisions of the Elseimian Navy. Xavier did his best to serve faithfully, a naive child forced to grow up quickly in the final years of the war. He and Xiomara did not see nearly as much carnage as the older soldiers, but they had gotten a taste of war. Xavier hated it.
Once the battle with the invaders finally ended the twins returned to their mother triumphantly. The fifteen-year battle had ended, but there was little cause for celebration. The invaders were gone but not beaten. Both Xavier and Xiomara had already been briefed on their missions following the end of the war, and their trip back to Taryn was ultimately just another prolonged goodbye. They were being split up, scattered strategically around the galaxy with the goal of rooting out the invaders and keeping tabs on the rest of civilization. While Xavier had been assigned to the Federation, his sister had been sent to Bosco. Parting with her was hard but the two left with the promise that they'd meet again and an exchange of good luck charms.
Equipment & Items Name: Átahsaia Class: C Description: A black bladed katana composed of a unique Elseimian metal. It is a standard blade, measuring at 23.5 inches long, and weighing a light 2 lb. The sword and sheath have both been customized some by Xavier, with the sheath featuring sticker and a hanging ornament, all placed with the goal of having it look cool. A red cross hangs from the butt of the sword by a red string and the grip is wrapped in white cloth for additional comfort. Effect/Function: Cut people.
Name: Revolver Class: C Description: A simple stainless steel revolver, complete with a rolling six-shot barrel, and dark oak grip. The barrel is 4 inches long, and the gun weighs a light 2 pounds. On the barrel, there is a rough engraving scratched into the metal which reads; "Liz, Guide this Shot" in written Signal. Effect/Function: Shoot people.
Name: Revolver Ammo x 12 Class: D Description: twelve revolver bullets, six sit in the gun itself, while the other six sit in a speed loader within Xavier's bag. These bullets are simple in design and seem somewhat old fashioned in nature. Much like traditional bullets, they are merely metal casings, a personal preference on Xavier's behalf as he does not trust energy weapons. Effect/Function: Get shot.
Name: Black Squadron Uniform Class: D Description: The standard uniform of the Elsemian Intelligence Divisions Black Squadron, this outfit was designed for stealth and protection. It is entirely composed of durable lightweight fibers, allowing for optimal flexibility and maneuverability in combat. While more refined forms of the uniform provide greater protection, this is the basic one given to agents fresh out of training. The standard designs have been altered slightly by Xavier, who has added red and white accents in addition to a hood with the hopes of making the uniform more fashionable. It weighs a negligible .2 pounds and blends in well with dark shadows. The uniform consists of a jacket, pants, shoes, and a form-fitting tank top. Skills & Disciplines Martial Artist: Trained in a unique style of martial arts which incorporates the wild acrobatic kicks and flips of traditional Zrauth dances, Xavier practices a unique style of combat known as Rhythm Fighting. At times this style can appear more like dancing than combat, however, that is intentional to mask attacks and defense behind fluid and constant movement. This style focusses primarily on overwhelming opponents with speed and power. Whether it be through a flurry of kicks and punches or utilizing the powerful blows in a hit and run technique, this style is hard to defend. The more agile Xavier becomes, the more capable of a Rhythm Fighter he becomes.
Dancer: A skill he picked up long before entering the academy, X has been dancing in the Zrauth style for as long as he can remember. His mother was a performer at the temple, and so he picked up most of the moves simply from watching her. This style of dance is like a fusion between breakdancing and gymnastics, featuring flashy flips, spins, and twirls all in rhythm to the booming war drums. It is said to have been developed by warrior-priests, who were inspired by the Auberen to commence the war dance. Traditionally performers danced to war drums, but the modern form of the dance often takes place outside of temples and in the streets. These nontraditional forms of Rhythm Dancing are by far more popular and occur to the bass-heavy synths of Elseimian hip-hop.
Free Runner: Small and agile, Xavier is hard to keep pinned down. He moves through urban terrain particularly well and seems to be acutely aware of his surroundings at all times. The boy thrives on high speeds and new heights, showing a fearlessness when performing his more acrobatic maneuvers. His style of parkour is rather flashy as he learned many of the flips and landings from dancing.
Swordsman: Trained to wield a katana, Xavier has spent much of his childhood perfecting the art of swordplay. While far from a master, he is good enough to hold his own against the average sellsword. His biggest weakness is simply a lack of experience, and it is because of this that he often struggles against more seasoned sword fighters. While trained in the traditional style, Xavier has since looked to incorporate his sword into his Rhythm Fighting. He finds many of the techniques effective but difficult to execute properly, and so he sometimes shies away from drawing his blade until he deems it absolutely necessary.
Pilot: While never having piloted a real starship until recently, Xavier was able to gain a piloting license through countless hours stuck in a simulation. The Elseimian military makes pilot training mandatory for all personnel, and while he was not as strenuous as a fighter pilot's training, he knows his way around a ship. His knowledge is exclusive to smaller aircraft as his training was largely focussed on flying Elseimian starfighters.
Marksman: As a part of his training he was taught how to wield various weapons. From snipers to pistols he's shot them all, though he has practiced most on wielding handguns as they are the easiest to conceal. His ability with a sniper in the field is questionable though he may be able to take less challenging shots, and as far as his skill with a rifle it is above average at best.
Ninja: Much like the planet he grew up on, Xavier has learned to move in silence. His ability to communicate without speaking already gives him an advantage, and it is one he has trained for much of his life. Breaking and entering, sneak attacks, and spying are all within his realm of experience.
Polygot: A native Signal user, Xavier's since learned to speak many of the galaxies languages. He is fluent in Signal, Fioran, and Boscan but still can only speak enough Pregrandian and Iselium to hold a basic (and heavily accented) conversation.
Auberen Name: Planetary Drum Type: Takeover Proficiency: 4 Rank: 4 Description: A particularly unique manifestation of power, this Auberen has been likened to an earthquake during a light show. Through this power, Xavier is able to unleash earth-shaking vibrations and powerful pulses of energy. The elders say that his abilities are the rhythm of the Elseima itself, hence the name of this Auberen. By harnessing the energies around him, Xavier is able to greatly enhance his physical abilities and stature to potentially superhuman levels. He is capable of greatly boosting his speed in particular, accelerating to the point of achieving instantaneous movement, or teleportation. His power is equally enhanced giving him more force than necessary for many situations. The strength of his vibrations is dependent upon his movement and so the two of his abilities work in tandem to make Xavier quite the formidable Auber. Many of his vibratory attacks have a deep drum-like bass to them which works in tandem with the energy pulses to create what some have called a 'dance party' effect on the battle.
Much of this magics offense consists of melee attacks, wreaking widespread havoc by unleashing vibrations into the surrounding area, and applying pressure through accelerated movement. While this magic is partially energy-based X finds it impossible to focus the energy into anything as precise as a beam and has only been able to form it into slashes, waves, or blasts. Xavier can also heal/rejuvenate himself do to the nature of his abilities, which allow him to absorb and unleash the energy from the universe around him. Additionally, X possesses impressive control over his own momentum, and can at times defy physics to quickly change his own trajectory even while in the air. He can also use this ability to 'stick' to surfaces that would otherwise be impossible to climb when in reality he is simply holding himself against them.

{General Appearance}Xavier's body begins to emit a strobing aura of ever-changing colors, which follow him around like an afterimage of every movement. The only color this aura never seems to turn is black, and the light shimmering from him can at times resemble an aurora borealis. The more intense his movement the more intense the aura, and so he can sometimes appear as little more than a pulsating ball of colorful energy.

Destruction Dance - 4 Type: Offense Range: 20m Effect:Through a rhythmic beating of his feet Xavier unleashes heavy vibrations into the world around him. The drum-like beat picks up in intensity as the subwoofer like bass eventually becomes unbearable, cracking pavement and shaking the very earth itself. As the dance picks up colorful energies begin to pulsate with every beat, sending shockwaves of hot energy rippling across the afflicted area, dealing (rank - 1) continuous damage to anyone caught in the radius. The vibrations are strong enough to crack the pavement and keep off-balance anyone with 40 or less toughness, knocking them off their feet. This dance lasts for 3 posts and has a cooldown of 3 posts.
Instant Movement - 4 Type: Movement Range: 8m Effect: Xavier is capable of instantaneously appearing anywhere within 8 meters of himself, and can 'teleport' up to three times over the span of 3 posts, with a cooldown of 3 posts.
Impact - 4 Type: Offense Range: Melee Effect: Focussing a large amount of energy into one strike, X is capable of creating a powerful shockwave through his attack. This ability unleashes a vibration powerful enough to shatter C class equipment and damage B class equipment, dealing serious damage upon impact. Aesthetically this attack appears as little more than a normal blow, however, the hit itself unleashes a colorful burst of energy that expands outwardly. Anyone hit by this with a toughness of 40 or less is sent flying up to 15 m at high speeds. This ability has a cooldown of 3 posts.
Ritual Replenishment - 3 Type: Passive Range: Self Effect: X gathers and stores energy subconsciously, giving him the ability to repair his injuries and replenish his own energy reserves once every five posts. At present, he can only heal one intense wound every cycle.
Vibro Stick - 2 Type: Cantrip Range: Melee Effect: Allows X to scale and 'stick' to surfaces. Using this ability he can walk up vertical walls, and stand on the ceiling. He is only able to remain stationary on an object for up to a post before falling off.

Name: Black Squadron Field Leader Uniform Class: S Description: The standard uniform of the Elsemian Intelligence Divisions Black Squadron, this outfit was designed for stealth and protection. It is entirely composed of durable lightweight fibers, allowing for optimal flexibility and maneuverability in combat. While more refined forms of the uniform provide greater protection, this is the basic one given to agents fresh out of training. The standard designs have been altered slightly by Xavier, who has added red and white accents in addition to a hood with the hopes of making the uniform more fashionable. It weighs a negligible .2 pounds and blends in well with dark shadows. The uniform consists of a jacket, pants, shoes, and a form-fitting tank top. Absolute Soldier - 10 Type: Passive Range: Self Effect: The longer the battle, the stronger Xiomara becomes. Starting on the second post Xio spends locked in combat, she gains +5 Power, Speed, Toughness, and Acuity once a post until she is +40 in all four stats. When the battle ends so does the buff.
Absolute Spear - 5 Type: Cantrip Range: Melee Effect: Every post two of Xiomara's attacks are treated as armor breaking techniques.
