Out of all the states in the Federation, Tessera was the one he harbored the most ambivalence toward. It wasn't because of the planet's nature in itself, no, it had far more to do with the fact that a myriad of bad memories were attached to the name, none he particularly wanted to revisit. That being said, being a planetary neighbor made Tessera a bit hard to avoid, and more importantly so much time had passed that Leo was no longer entirely adverse to the entity. It was more so some lingering doubt that always seemed to briefly transport him to the past, though inevitably soon swept away by his mind.
The state was nothing like it was back on Earthland, anyway. Devoid of the countless layers of history that had once defined it, Tessera had forged a new identity over the years, one Leo far preferred anyway. Its chaotic, ever teeming life was a bit overwhelming at times, yes, but it was better than a lack of sensory input that would stir deeper thoughts. The people, as well, were a far cry from the ordinary, not stifled by the machinations of much of the galaxy and thus free to go about their lives. Still, he didn't visit the planet often, only on business. That was indeed what Leo and Eris were wrapping up, handing off a rather well known hacker and forger of illicit documents to the local authorities. In most cases it would have been a white collar crime, but unfortunately the perpetrator had sought to stir up chaos throughout the Lustrous Sector and would have succeeded to some degree, were she not halted by police intervention weeks ago and forced to go into hiding. That was where they had come in.
It was all well and good, but that was now over with. The sky had grown dark, although the city was quite the contrary as bright lights flashed, the nightlife apparent even just outside the police station. "So, should we go home or explore?" Leo asked as they had begun to walk back toward where Blackjack was parked in a nearby docking bay. Of course, Trillium was only a short flight away, but there was always something fun about going to new establishments, no matter the variety. Plus, there was no telling what kind of people could be found there.
Evidently, Eris shared his sentiment. "Ah, we're already here so why not. This street's too loud, though." He nodded in agreement, vivacious partying wasn't particularly pleasant after a day of tireless search for a rather slippery individual. No, after wandering through a few alleys a different atmosphere caught his attention, a bar that didn't seem all that notable but was well kept all the same, with a steady flux of patrons to boot. About to speak up, Eris ended up pointing toward it, in which he let out a little laugh.
"Exactly what I was thinking," Leo said. With that, they presented their identification to the doorman and were let inside, soon to be settled toward one end of the central countertop.
