Around 35% of Fiorans possess some kind of magic, due to both Fiore's Earthland territory being the most magically concentrated location on the planet, and that over time many mages immigrated to the Federation, further bolstering these numbers. As a result, magic is usually seen more as a tool by Fiorans than a mystical power, and their rather nonspiritual approach to things reflects such. As a whole, Fiore is seen as a rather pragmatic nation, a place where anything and everything can be used to advanced ones' goals. Indeed, its citizens are often viewed to have a particularly ambitious spirit, proven by the fact that many corporate positions are held by them. Fiorans are also observed to be rather independent, as they value democratic principles and often look down upon countries, most notably Pergrande whose governing tactics are in opposition to the Federation's. Most have a strong sense of nationalism, and are not afraid to voice their opinions on various topics, upholding a longstanding tradition of civil debate. To this day, March 5th is celebrated as the day Fiore broke free of its monarchy, just shy of a thousand years ago. For many Fiorans, it is regarded as the most important holiday of the year, and festivals surround it with bombastic celebrations. History The history of the Federation can be traced back to when it was instead known as the Fiorean Kingdom, founded by Arlan Fiore and later reunified by Septus ro Unmariquia. This kingdom was the first true human civilization on Earthland, when dragons were still a driving force in the world. Alas, eventually they disappeared, for reasons lost to the sands of time, and so too did Arlan's kingdom fall apart. The various settlements that made up the refuge for humanity went their separate ways violently in an event known as the Rune Wars, eventually developing into independent city-states. It was not until two thousand years later that the Unmariquia line rose to power, and with it the first step in the sealing of Earthland's fate came to pass. However, for three millennia the family ruled justly, creating the Magic Council as a way to govern the mages of the land whilst the Unmariquia line governed the people. During this time, Fiore conducted great crusades against the neighboring countries of Bosco and Seven, expanding economic borders and creating the Knights of Fiore as a result. However, this conflict unknowingly sowed a rivalry between Bosco and Fiore that would not be repaired until much further in time. The First and Second Fiorean-Boscan Wars were a testimony to it, and while the first passed without incident, unremarkable to most, the second was far from such. However, even before it could occur, strange happenings had been found in Fiore, as an event known as the Demon Invasion led to the seal on the Queen Dragon, Astrea, being broken. How or why this seal existed in the first place is unknown, yet with her newfound freedom she destroyed the city of Trillium, though it was later repaired. Another queen, Ehlaine ro Unmariquia, was killed during the demon attacks on her nation, and from her death did Stefan Markus ro Unmariquia rise to power. A name that would forever live in infamy, for he was the most abhorrent traitor ever known to Earthland. Using his magic, Stefan had created the Demon Invasion to wrestle the throne from his mother. In gaining control over Fiore, he then conspired with Boscan operatives to stage a war between the two countries, the aforementioned Second Fiorean-Boscan War. He believed it was the fastest way to unite Earthland against the abominable Blight slowly encroaching in on the continent, however he had never anticipated the mad Colonel Wesker to spread it to the world rather than to see it contained. This event plunged the world into chaos, transforming the Second Fioran-Boscan War into the Great War as Stefan had wished, yet unlike what he predicted humanity was unable to stave the Blight off, leading to the demise of all lands. Before the Exodus could even start, a coup d'etat ousted him from power, leaving Fiore further shattered with only the Magic Council as a governing body, although certainly it was better than the traitor remaining alive. Earthland did overcome the Blight in one way, however, advancing their technology to the point where space travel was no longer a distant fantasy. And thus did the remnants of Fiore and the rest of the continent flee, though by then much of humanity had fallen victim to the eldritch horrors below. What remained of the fallen kingdom were twelve colony ships, each designated after a city of power within Fiore. It was the foundation of the Federation as we know it today, where a great council convened and drew up the Fioran Constitution, reversing the colors of the ancient flag and dropping an E in their demonym to mark a rejection of the past. As the Exodus came to an end, the Federation of Fioran States settled twelve planets that would become the basis of their power in the coming age. Along with several other nations, the Federation formed the Alliance of Unified Planets, in an effort to promote peace among the nations of Earthland. However, while overcoming their rivalry with Bosco in this effort, a new nemesis presented itself in the newly coined Union of Pergrande. Once on opposite ends of the continent, their conflicting ideologies would branch out in to an extensive cold war, distance no longer much of an obstacle in the vast expanse of space. At first, the Union remained reclusive from the rest of the galaxy, the two conflicting powers conducting espionage yet no true gains were made other than the amassing of power and territory. After a change in leadership, however, Pergrande broke this status quo by reaching out to the Alliance. At first delighted, Fiore hoped the two countries would turn over a new leaf, however the Union promptly began to veto all decisions made by the Federation, much to their chagrin. Thus, the thought of peace was further broken. Both sides began to make preparations for the worse, developing new technologies to remain ever vigilant of the threat of war. It never came, however, or at least not yet. Instead, the Federation inadvertently invented a device that would change the breadth of the galaxy as the nations of Earthland knew it, a massive construct known as a warp ring. A combination of magic and technology, it had initially been designed for the purpose of ambushing Union forces, but its massive potential soon led to other countries and corporations replicating their own structures. The faster than light travel led to a rapid growth in colonization throughout the galaxy, and cemented Fiore as a superpower on the galactic scale. A snag came in the way of their war of subterfuge, an event that also involved Bosco and was known as the Seveni Liberation Front. Masquerading as being inspired for freedom, Seveni nationalists rose up within the Reich, many cells supported by Fiore for their apparent noble efforts. Pergrande got involved as well, seeing it as an opportunity to take over Boscan territory. While the three-way nearly broke out into all out conflict, the Union eventually withdrew while the Alliance condemned many of the rebel cells of being terrorists. Fiore eventually also came to this conclusion, aiding the Reich in restoring order to its Seveni territories. However, the Soldiers of Seven, a militant group the Federation had supported, saw this outrageous, and bombed several cities on Crocus in retaliation. A coalition of ISC, Fioran, and Boscan soldiers swiftly destroyed the group in the attacks' aftermath, though causing harm to peaceful Seveni citizens as well. Ever since the brutal independence movement, the Federation of Fioran States has remained vigilant, seeking to expand the freedoms for the galaxy. For that reason, they stand in opposition of many, yet few dare to challenge the nation openly because of their magical, technological, and military prowess. Whether that will remain as such in the coming age has yet to be seen. Government The government of Fiore is best described as a presidential representative republic, consisting of 12 states bound federally together by the Fioran Constitution. Three branches of government are found in the federal government, along with the states': the executive, headed by the president or a governor respectively; the legislative, consisting of the Board and the Senate; and the judicial, made up of the Superior and Inferior Courts. A Magic Council also exists within the judicial system, although only criminals whose magic is seen as a threat to the entire galaxy are tried here, the branch also being responsible for the registration of all Fioran mages. Despite all of this, however, the states are more independent than one might assume, due to the fact that organizing a host of planets is, not surprisingly, more difficult in reality than on paper. Geography The geography of the Federation is greatly varied, changing from planet to planet and system to system. However, a number of generalities can be said about Fioran settlements, they are generally rather sophisticated in design and most can be described as "first world". The climates of many planets are varied, with summers and winters that truly do function as such. While wilderness exists within the states, non-urban areas are most often found on the moons that orbit their planets, as most of the planets have been completely overtaken by urban development. Also notable is the permeation of magic throughout almost all Fioran territory, a result of the mages that have lived on the land for generations, steadily imbuing a human touch into what was once alien landscape. The five systems that comprise of the Federation itself are relatively clustered together, and its planets are similar, all existing within the habitable zones of their stars without alteration. Locations 5 systems, 12 planets and 19 moons. Many other areas of space also colonized. Chrysanthemum - The military center of Fiore, Chrysanthemum is perhaps the most feared of all the states, by enemies, and one of the most revered among allies. Its security is second to none in the Federation, and few other places rival it across the galaxy, for around the entire planet sits a large, clear energy shield, with entry and exit gates located above the main cities with constant surveillance. Both on Chrysanthemum and in its protected skies are various factories and shipyards, almost all of them owned in some way, shape, or form by the government, and also of note are the various prestigious military academies found in more urban population centers. The demographic of Chrysanthemum is, not surprisingly, largely made up of Knights and other branches of the military, along with their families, although a more civilian population does exist as a minority, largely owners of businesses on the planet. Crocus - Crocus is the de-facto capital of the Federation, as both the executive and legislative branches of Fiore's government make their home in the state. Its single moon is home to the former group, more specifically the location known as the President's Citadel. It is here where the President of the Federation resides, and below on the planet of Crocus lies the meeting rooms for the Board and Senate, where the two always face each other due to the planet and moon's corresponding rotation. Other than these two staples, Crocus is also known lesser for its financial sectors, which also bring a great deal of wealth to the state. Its architecture in general reflects this, a mix of the modern and the classical that is bound to impress most on first viewing, and these monuments are generally well protected from above and below. Era - Era is a bit of an outlier when it comes to the states, for while it is well known for its government connections few ever visit the planet unless called upon. Other than it being where the Superior Court and Magic Council are found, it is for the most part a quiet planet, with most of its citizens content on living fairly complacent lives. As a result, the primary demographic for Era is those approaching their elderly years, and the secondary those who wish to raise their family away from the fairly hectic galaxy around them. The governmental parts of the state are fairly isolated from its other cities, a purposeful design considering that many dangerous individuals are found especially in Magic Council hearings. However, as Era has no moons, they are still relatively connected, and as a result the area surrounding the state's capital is defended by the military. Acacia - The center of lacryma technology in the Federation, Acacia's five moons are small yet each are made up of a specific type of the mineral corresponding with the five main elements of traditional magic study. Mining of these resources is a central economic activity of the state, along with refinement and implementation of of such. The state also has the largest gemstone deposits in the Federation, and because of this many artisan jewelers are also found on the planet. Accumulated, Acacia's mineral riches make it one of the most prosperous states in the Federation, and such is evident in the designs of its cities, many carved out of the land itself, exposing the natural veins - most of the truly valuable jewels already mined, of course - to the world. Many of the largest lacryma based companies also have great influence over Acacia, and in general the state is home to the more wealthy classes of society. Belladonna - While once a competitor with Acacia over the lacryma industry, Belladonna eventually lost such race, however with it emerged a new state identity. Indeed, Belladonna has reinvented itself since its original colonization, from manufacturer to the go to place for higher education and similar pursuits. Its two most renown colleges, Lawrett and Blackcolme, are found on the state's two moons respectively, the former being science oriented while the latter better known for the social studies. Many other more specialized schools and lesser known universities exist on the planet's surface, although nearly all of them are for more tangible subjects rather than those solely focused on magic. As a result of the general demographic of Belladonna, that being young adults, it is ever-changing, and its cities reflect an ultramodern style because of this. Coreopsis - Often referred to as the twin of Poinsettia, the two states are distinctive enough to be classified as two, however due to the nature of their planets being binary in revolution of one another they are closer than most others. That being said, Coreopsis is known for its romantic gestures above all else, a concept that might seem silly, at least until one visits the state. Magic flows freely on the planet, second only to Magnolia in numbers, and such is reflected in the plentiful wildlife. Indeed, Coreopsis is one of the most untamed states in the Federation, yet despite that it has numerous settlements, largely incorporating nature quite literally into its cities, bending flora much like something out of a fairy tale. Other than its tourist appeal, the state also produced a large portion of Fiore's non-imported foodstuffs, reflecting its often humble way of life. Poinsettia - More urbanized than its counterpart, Poinsettia is also rooted in agriculture, however such is far more scientific in approach than Coreopsis's take on it. Most known for the stable life it produces, the state is rather quiet on the galactic scale compared to others, yet also the safest among the Federation's fold. Its climate mild and landscape largely unscarred by rifts in geography except for the occasional body of water where the natural world still remains, Poinsettia offers an air of tranquility found in few other places around the galaxy, something that paradoxically can attract more interesting characters to the state. Neither Poinsettia nor Coreopsis have any moons, due to the two being close enough to each other that only the opposing planet dominates the sky. Magnolia - Home to the largest population of mages in Fiore, Magnolia is a virtual paradise for those who practice it, and to a degree non-mages are more often ostracized than the opposite, although discrimination on such basis is quite uncommon in the Federation to begin with. The planet is a largely metropolitan area, however its style possesses some charm reminiscent of designs from Earthland, with stone architecture being common and magic rather than technology lighting up every winding street. Magnolia has a varied climate, although it never gets unbearably hot or particularly cold, perhaps due to its inhabitants' natures. Some of if not the most prestigious schools for magic are also found on Magnolia and its three moons, all of which are inhabited yet largely wild, boasting many magical creatures. Tessera - Once known as the Grand City of Rebirth, the state of Tessera has changed much from its inception, from a historically diverse metropolis to a culturally diverse one. Indeed, Tessera holds the highest immigrant rate in the Federation, and its jumbled architecture to a degree reflects this. It is a place of opportunity for many, and has little influence from large corporations, rather most of the business in Tessera is locally owned, and for that its diverse economy also draws a healthy share of tourists. For the most part, the planet is warm, occasionally getting a little too hot for comfort, and also has some agricultural roots, largely based around unique crops only found naturally in far-reaching parts of the galaxy. The planet has no moons, although some small asteroids are caught in its orbit, doomed to eventually fall down to the earth. Trillium - Glamorous compared to many others, Trillium is one of the richest states in the Federation, owing not to its technical prowess but its entertainment value. Renown throughout the galaxy for its casinos, dueling rings, race courses, and just about everything else someone wealthy might be drawn to on a Friday or Saturday night, many corporations also make their headquarters in the state due to its status, the likes of IMG being just one. It goes without saying that the state's architecture reflects such, sophisticated and upkept to the point where most surfaces glitter in the night lights. Most of the planet consists of urban sprawl, intermittent with plateaus of rock and snow, depending where on the planet's surface one is. Trillium has four small moons, all of them dedicated to various vacation resorts and the like, being far more tranquil than the main state. Dandelion - Often viewed as the "that one uncle" of the Federation, Dandelion's history and roots in criminal activity have made it one of the least desirable states in Fiore to live in, at least according to those in the higher echelons of society. In truth, Dandelion attracts many people to it, mainly those with a less than satisfactory past looking to either redeem themselves or continue their quest through darkness. The planet is often rainy yet generates little wind, leaving to it having a somewhat smoggy atmosphere, also reflective of the manufacturing that is a part of its massive, gray city sprawl. Its two moons are gray as well, one used as a federal prison merely overseen by Dandelion and the other a massive conglomerate of, well really nothing, failed projects and towns with inhabitants merely living to see another day. Ironforge - A nation once separated from the rest of Fiore by mountain walls, Ironforge has long since become a proper part of the Federation, contributing its fire and smithing skills along with its precious metals to the rest of the states. The surface of the Ironforge's planet is somewhat volatile, its tectonic plates far from settled which has resulted in some of the largest earthquakes and volcanoes recorded by any civilized place in the galaxy. However, over the years infrastructure has been built across the surface to counteract such, and for the most part if one doesn't step outside the various cities of Ironforge they will be safe. The state also has two moons under its control, one in the process of being terraformed from a lifeless rock and the other home to most of Ironforge's water supply along with a few small cities. Military The Federation's military might is certainly nothing to scoff at, possessing perhaps the most technologically advanced fleet of ships in the galaxy, or at least the largest of any competitors for the title. Fiore's military influence expands to most regions of known space, and helps defend many of their allies against foreign threats, along with securing The Knights of Fiore is an organization that predate the Federation itself, and still operates to this day as a special forces branch of the Fioran Military. Economy Fiore boasts a strongly free-leaning mixed economy, with private interests driving the market in most circumstances and the government only really regulating and taxing imports for protection purposes. Many activities dominate the market of the Federation, most notably those service oriented in terms of mages, adventurers, and mercenaries, along with Fiore being the number one producer and refiner of lacryma and also the best innovator when it comes to incorporating such into technology. Regional interests do exist, however, and the Federation is defined by many more things than just its generalities.

Brave Galaxy is set in a world loosely based on Hiro Mashima’s Fairy Tail and Eden’s Zero. It is a PG-13 or so rated space fantasy RP, and uses a combination of character statistics, which can be acquired via roleplaying and events, and creative freedom to help direct players’ characters. While there is a main storyline, which can be found in the events section, characters are free to interact with others and their environment however they see fit.
