Brave Galaxy is set in a world loosely based on Hiro Mashima’s Fairy Tail and Eden’s Zero. It is a PG-13 or so rated space fantasy RP, and uses a combination of character statistics, which can be acquired via roleplaying and events, and creative freedom to help direct players’ characters. While there is a main storyline, which can be found in the events section, characters are free to interact with others and their environment however they see fit.
Explore the galaxy. Overcome the obstacles in your path. Shape the future of humanity.
This was the first time Vi had gotten to go out and explore the town by herself. It had been a while since she was rescued by her cousin but she hadn't been in good shape and honestly probably wouldn't have known what to do with herself if she had tried to do anything by herself. Today though her cousin was at work, which she couldn't recall what he even did. Not that it wasn't in her memory bank but more that it was in a folder that she buried in other folders that she wasn't willing to dig through.
Even though her memories were foggy from before her operation, Vi had no trouble telling this place was different. Viji never really got to do exploring like this before as she was pampered before things happened. Vi would sneak out but there is a difference between having to hide in a town that everyone can catch you and the freedom of no one even knowing who you are. Not that anyone would be able to recognize her anymore as she could change her look at will. This time she was going out with long black hair, short bangs with a simple charcoal colored dress that went to her knees. Her eyes were now blue. Her sature was taller than she was normally used to as it helped looking into the stores. She was about five feet 2 inches or little over 1.5 meters. It felt like something that wouldn't make her stand out too much.
Vi was told that keeping a low profile would be a good thing and she could see why. It wasn't like she wanted to go back. Not that there would be any likely reason that she would be found out but being cautious made the most sense. Also going out in something outrageous probably wouldn't be a good idea either even if it made her a little sad as she had so many dress ideas she so desperately wanted to try.
Window shopping was interesting. She wasn't really sure if she should head into any of them. Vi could remember that shops preyed on customers as they wanted you to spend all your money at them. It was something that had stuck with her and now she had practically no money. So there she was standing at windows looking into shops never even daring to step into one or least not one where she had no reason to buy anything.
Though this brought stairs by people passing by. They did not feel malicious so Vi didn't give them any thought. They just wanted to know what she was doing or thought she was just desperately wanting to buy the things in the window when most of the time she was just curious. Sometimes she was even in the way as she didn't know anything about the courtesies of space when it came to public spaces.
Resiel had found himself in Chorus after a contract had been concluded. The lean youth, at loose ends, had begun to wander around the richly appointed, heavily trafficked area of the town that was full of shops selling all manner of ornate and beautiful objects. There was plenty of money burning a hole in his pocket, but Res was not one for frivolous spending (unless it was on clothing). Right now, he sported a simple black turtleneck and form-fitting black jeans along with his ubiquitous military boots. Over top of the turtleneck, he wore a simple woollen jacket, concealing his combat knife.
He moved with fluid grace, his body gliding through the crowds. His handsome features drew people’s gazes but he seemed oblivious to the way he looked. His sharp eyes were sweeping back and forth, appearing to scan over the whole of his surroundings while he moved in a way that spoke of intense awareness of the space in which he moved, as if expecting an attack at any moment.
As he got into the fashion district, he slowed and it seemed that half of his mind was on the clothing in the windows and the other half was monitoring the crowds. There were some true examples of the tailor’s art in some of the windows and no matter how he tried, he simply couldn’t stop gazing at them. Up ahead, he saw a delicate looking young woman in a rather swirling dress who was looking with a certain sort of longing into the window of a shop with many well-made frocks.
The owner of the shop, a severe featured middle-aged woman apparently had taken note of her. Glaring, as though the girl was about to steal something, the woman strode forward and accosted the browsing girl. “What are you doing here, you little urchin! You’re probably going to bring a bunch of little toe rags to my shop1”
As the proprietor raised her hand to slap the young woman, Res moved with blurring speed and caught her hand as it descended. He firmly held it until the woman was forced to lower it. “Don’t you dare raise a hand to my sister! I will bring charges against you if you touch her. Come along, my dear sister, let’s get you away from this cow.”
Guiding her away, out of earshot of the flustered shop owner, Resiel turned to Vi. “My apologies, miss. I simply couldn’t allow that loutish woman to strike you. Are you alright?”
After staring for way too long Vi was interrupted by the shop owner who came at her with words that put her mind into confusion. 'Sea urchin'? Her mind started going through the online data bases to understand this but the first thing to pop up was a creature that Vi was pretty sure didn't even exist on this planet and it just made her more confused. Then the next processing of things went to toe rags. She didn't even have time to try and research this before everything happened so her mind was just trying to figure out what that meant before she was valiantly saved.
This man said he was her brother. There was no way that was. He didn't look like either of her two brothers and on top of that she didn't look like herself. Did by some chance she took the form of someone who looked like his sister. Before she could even started contemplating what that would mean. She finally realized that she was almost smacked.
What were these people? Vi's mind was running trying to do all these calculations at once but even for being part machine or even mostly machine at this point she could not keep up with this. There was so much to process she was not sure where to start. As she was being dragged away from the store.
"I am sorry if I 'caused any inconvenience." This was a reply she did before they got too far. It seemed to change the ladies expression a little bit as although Vi didn't understand it made their story a bit more believable. It was the first thing she could think of saying. Even if she wasn't his sister he did save her. Though now she had way too many questions. As they started heading to a location Viji didn't know where. She just couldn't stop by wanting to ask so many things.
Trying to resist but not succeeding she looked kind of like a new puppy who just found a new home. As they continued walking and him breaking the silence as he apologized which didn't make much sense to her and then asked if she was okay. Opening her mouth is where things started to go wrong. As that let everything she was holding back come out "I am alright. But I don't think you are my brother or did you have some disguise? If not then do I look like her? If so I am sorry I don't mean to be an imposter just liked the look and thought it would be unnoticeable.
"Also what are you sorry for? I am pretty sure the only one in the wrong was that woman back there. Why was she mad? What does she mean by the things she said. I don't understand what a sea creature has to do with any of these things; are you able to explain? Also why would toe rags be brought to her shop and what even are they? Do people need rags just for their toes? Is that something a store doesn't want? That would just be another thing to sell I don't understand. Also where are we headed" She barely let any time to breath though she didn't really need to. Or any time to have someone answer any of her questions. When she got to the last one she went silent and stared at him with a doe kind of look out of curiosity. There were a lot of things she didn't understand and even though she had all the information easily accessible to her head making things make sense seemed to not be in that job description.
They stood on the edges of a leafy green park now as Res seemed to have determined that they’d made it far enough off. If anything that Vi said was causing Resiel to question her sanity, it didn’t show on his fine features. His eyes softened a little from their flinty hardness and the tension that had briefly filled him dropped away again. All he did was crinkle his mouth upwards for a moment in the ghost of a smile before he spoke in a voice that was neutral but not cold. “I just decided to use that as my excuse for stopping her from slapping you. It was the only reason I said what I did.”
There was a brief look of assessment in the lean, elegant youth’s sharp eyes, as if he was evaluating Viji and gathering data before he made his reply. “I am sorry for the rapid response. I didn’t mean to cause confusion. I think she was mad because she made the erroneous conclusion that you were about to commit theft from her store. Perhaps you had been standing there too long for her liking.”
In his usual fashion, Res paused briefly to scan his surroundings, looking quickly around to increase his spatial awareness. After this, he continued replying to the delicate girl standing beside him. “An urchin is another word for a child who’s a beggar or otherwise living on the street. Toe rag is an insulting term. Its origins are unclear to me but suffice to say it isn’t complimentary.”
Resiel shook his head, raking a long-fingered hand through his perfectly placed bangs. “We don’t have to be headed anywhere. Perhaps, however, introductions are in order. My name is Resiel but most people just call me Res. What’s your name?”
He added, “Also what has brought you to Chorus? If you’ll pardon me, you look a little lost. If there’s any other way in which I might render assistance, please let me know.”
Again the tall, lean muscled youth lapsed into a watchful silence. Without seeming to, he continued to let his eyes roam over Vi, gathering more visual cues in terms of her posture, expressions and vocal mannerisms.

After being told that she was about to be slapped, Viji responded with a gasped look. How horrible could this woman be? Vi only been standing there for a little while. (She had actually been there for about a good fifteen minutes or longer.) How rude of her! All these thoughts were rushing through her head as she tried keeping up with the conversation.
Stealing was the woman’s issue. This was confused Viji a little. How was she going to steal something through glass? Sure magic and science might be able to do it but there are easy tells to figure that out and this city had enough security robots around that they would have probably picked up on it. The day was becoming weirder and weirder as she just thought strolling around would be an okay thing. She might have to learn a bit more before she went on another venture.
Slang; that was something she forgot to look into to. Now Viji felt silly she should have realized without asking what must have been a dumb question. She was now embarrassed as started staring at the ground to avoid eye sight with the person who was probably considering her a dummy.
Introductions as Vi started hitting her face with her hands. How could she forget something so basic? Taking a deep breath Vi replied to Res. “My name is Viji or Vi either is okay.
“I came to live with my cousin but he is off working right now so I went to explore.” Her tone was a lot more hushed then before and she was now looking around as she needed to know where she was. Processing the information she knew they were at a park named Memorial Park. “Well I know where we are that isn’t the issue as this is memorial park. I am not used to this city or anything. Getting lost would be hard to do though. I am good at knowing locations.” She had a map of the whole place in her head and step by step instructions to get to any location including her current resident.
Trying to change the get over her embarrassment Viji asked “So what about you? Why are you here? Do you live around here? Also are you one to typically save damsels in distress?” Not that she would really consider herself in distress but it felt right to say none the less.
Vi hadn’t really taken a good look at the man who saved her. Vi’s eyes scanned up and down Res, with no subtly that she was doing so. He was definitely muscular. She wondered if he was an athlete or something. His facial features were sharp and almost a little cold to her. Not that she understood that. The only time she remembered someone with that kind of look they were testing things on her but he seemed to not have any malicious intent towards her right now. He did save her so she wasn’t going to just hate him but it definitely felt uninviting.
After a moment Viji ran to one of the near by trees. Turned and then looked at Resiel again just wondering what he would do. Would he care to play? Not that Vi had experience she was almost always supposed to be lady like when she was younger but she had gotten some chances with her brothers back in the day. She wondered how they were but her being dead might be too much of a shock and she was still trying to avoid her uncle which announce she was alive would probably cause a target on her back.
Resiel seemed to be watching her with keen eyes, his gaze not cold but analytical again. Viji was nervous, shy and seemed quite literal in her view of the world. She didn’t appear to be in some way mentally damaged, simply oddly socialized and perhaps somewhere on what was referred to as “the spectrum.” Res was quite sure he was also on that spectrum, so he was in no way bothered. Human beings were confusing and completely illogical.
As Vi hit her face, the lanky young man reached out and took her hands gently, setting them at her sides Res’ voice seemed to grow warmer and more gentle as he spoke. His angular features and cold eyes gave off the impression of something forbidding but he could at least soften his tone. “Very well, Vi. It’s okay, not to worry! We all get a little flustered at times.”
It was hard for someone trained to kill to show a sense of empathy, but it did dwell within him. He let his hard features soften as he replied to Vi. “Well I am heartened to know that you are not lost. That is a basis on which to move forward, I have found.”
There was a stiff formality to much of what the lean, well-built young man said. He expressed himself as someone who doesn’t have a great deal of socialization would tend to. He stood still for a moment before he nodded his head sharply, almost in confirmation before he opened his mouth to speak. “I am here completing an assignment that I was employed on. I do not live around here. I make my home in Chrysanthemum. It is where I grew up, was…educated and now where my business resides.”
A hint of a smile touched his lips and his eyes as he looked down at Viji. “I regularly save people who are in trouble. I am sure you are much more interesting than some damsel however. I suspect you are a good deal more fun!”
As if on cue, the small and innocent looking girl darted away from him. It took Resiel a moment but he gave a quick flash of a smile again and he leaped after her. He shouted to her in a fun tone. “Alright then! You want to play a game, let’s play. Here I come!”
The man’s extraplanar DNA enhancement meant that he could have caught her in a matter of seconds, but he deliberately checked his pace as he waited to see which move his playmate would make in her little spontaneous game.
When Res grabbed her hands in response to her hitting herself. Vi flinched as she was not used to human contact in a while and the last contact she had was abusive. Not sure how to express her concern though it was written cleanly on her fact she tried to say something but thought better of it and just nodded as though that would solve things and hoped that she would not have to bring it up.
It was a strange statement to make to Vi when he said that people get flustered at times. She knew that was true but it wasn't something she was used to. Her life for what she could remember was all about needing to always show that you were prim and proper there was never time to show how you feel. It felt cold though that might just be from what lingers and not from everything that she had lived through. A lot of the fragments were darker and she knew that probably from the trauma. As she had researched a lot into her own psychosis to try and keep herself from breaking.
Trying to make sense of everything was just making her brain hurt more and more. Though less from actual physical more from the mental exhaustion it was from trying to process it all. That being said Vi knew that Res was trying to be genuine or least fake it she had no way of telling.
"Thank you for all your kind words." Vi replied. She knew she should say something but as she was so lost in thought there wasn't much more that she felt that she could respond with. Maybe something to get their mind of things might make her feel better.
Before contemplating on what he said he did for a living Vi tried climbing one of the trees. This was not a huge park as it was in the town and there wasn't a lot of space for something like this. It almost felt like a memorial to a park then an actual park and after trying to put her foot on the tree she found out the hard way that was basically a correct assumption as she fell to the ground.
The tree was a hologram a lot like Violet. This was not something she expected and if she wasn't made out of a synthetic material she would be sure that the fall would have hurt.
"Well I guess climbing trees is out of the question." Trying to think of what they could do, hide and seek might work but there being two of them seemed boring. Tag could work but he was so much more refined then her, he would catch her in an instance and she probably would never catch him. This was becoming difficult and her mood was slowly swinging away from having fun.
"I wanted to do something fun but now I just want to go sit." Looking around the tiny park she saw a few benches probably to admire the holograms. She was even wondering if the grass was real, it felt it but there was something off by it not that she could put her finger on it. Finally getting off the ground, brushing herself off. "Should we go see if one of those benches are real? Then you can tell me more about you being a hero or are you an adventurer?" Those were the first two things that came to mind when he said he was on a job here that definitely seemed physical and since he had a tendency to save people including damsels then no other job felt more appropriate.
