"Hmm, check out this Innorag request," Eris said as they scrolled through a list of bounties curated by the Hunters' Branch of IMG. She pointed at the man in question, his picture only a grainy security camera screenshot of a roughly person-like figure with a mask obscuring their more telling traits. This Innorag was indeed likely a man, though, considering his build and the voice clip the file came with was quite masculine in nature, although certainly there was magic and technology that could alter both.
"Sounds like the name of a demon to me," Leo responded, mouth twisting into a not so subtle smirk. Eris just shook her head, sighing. "Hey look! The job's on Stella though. It's been a while, hasn't it? Wonder if it's changed." A day or so later, they stood in the small lot of the equally tiny town of Puritui. It was certainly beautiful, with the great Southern Tree lacing its branches over the sky, the buildings molded as if they were the wilderness itself. But alas, as soon as they stepped off, prying eyes abounded, the population indeed being entirely elvish, or at least appearing to be as such. Of course, neither Leo nor Eris had pointed ears, although certainly they could sympathize with some other traits in common, the most prominent of course being an extended lifespan. "Spekdiscernere fiorhuman, novu," he commented in a low, growling pitch, the language of course sounding foreign, even inhuman, to all ears except their own.
She nodded, glancing at him with a slight smile more characteristic of dejection than happiness. "Gyse, sathrnos hwerkadtveir." They walked toward the center of the place, getting more than a few stares along the way. As a matter of fact, one would think they were the only people of any note around the place, based on the Elvish gossip floating around, the tongue, unbeknownst to the natives, something they could understand just fine. "We're meeting someone else, right?" Eris asked him, although before Leo could respond a tall elf had finally summoned the nerve to approach them, or had rather overcome his apparent disgust.
"What are a couple of filthy humans doing in the fine city of Puritui?"
Leo snickered, looking up at him with approximately zero respect. "Please, this isn't a city; it's barely a town. We're with IMG, here to solve your little terrorist threat." His voice was snide in its inflection, gaze starting to show signs of a bloodier hue, although the swords secured on his back and revolver at his side remained far from his grasp. Instead, not breaking eye contact with the elf, he procured an identification card from the organization, its color green although there was an ever slight abnormality with the gold seal stamped on one side, though the local would never be able to recognize such. Of course, his birth year was completely fudged, and Eris's as well, as she presented hers.
The elf's lips curled up in a snarl, though his passing glances made him gave in. "Very well then, though I can't believe that organization would send mortals to deal with this," he hissed.
"There will be another party joining us as well. But, the Intergalactic Mercenary Guild doesn't discriminate based on race, only ability. That aside, last I check elves just take a few hundred more years to keel over and die." He smiled, quite genuine although based on its place also rather malicious, before walking around him, both Leo and Eris heading toward the town hall where the attacks were said to have taken place.
It was at 2 AM in the morning when Xena Hunt has gotten her first mission from the company that hired her. She was jest returning to her suite after another eventful night. She had a large gid by a very popular centaur singer in her indoor arena, and after she show, Xena visited and ate at one of the numerous restaurants, and after the meal, she spend the rest of her time in her casino at once of the bars, just enjoying the sight of all the guests and gamblers. So, after she got a classified message on her Holocomm screen that was in her private suite of her resort, decided to leave in the later part of the next morning.
Next day, in the late morning, she got dressed, went down to the cafe, where, she always had a large and fairly strong coffees pre-made, just for her. She was given her mug, and was handed the milk and coffee pourer. Normally she would order room service to do it, most of the time, she was also likes going to the great cafe. Xena then handed her mug back, and while she was pretty paranoid about her foor and drinks... in her resort... she know that she truely had nothing to worry about... it was only in her resort that she truely had nothing to worry about in terms of an assassination attempt via poison or something. Xena then thanked the nice server and left the hotel, heading for her ship.
Once she was on her ship, She had the ship take off on autopilot while she undressed from her elegant clothing and changed into a fairly busted pair of jeans, an older grey colored tshirt and her armor and weapons. Xena then went back to her seat, turned off the autopilot, and set the course for Stella and then prepared for the ship to jump into hyperspace.
Some 2 hours later, she arrived out of the jump, at Stella, and started her decent onto the planet, following the map on where this Immorag mission was. She landed around a half a mile from a smaller town, just far enught to remain out of site for the locals and once she left her ship, Xena made sure to securely close it. She then made her way towards the very pretty looking town and smiled slightly, under her mask. It was been decades, since she last visited Stella for a longer time, apart from the occasional concerts that where on the planet. But recently there where no concerts on the planet, for a few years now, something that dissapointed her slightly. As she was moving fairly silently, she could soon hear people talking in the distance.
She took off her mask silently as she arrived near a small group of people. What she arrived t, made her a little annoyed. One of the local elves was pretty hostile to the tow other people both of who where holding badges that where like her own. She made her presence known finally.
" Mortals? And what makes you so sure that another person is not immortal? " She asked with a serious face, and took her own badge out of her pocket and showed it to the two others. " Rank Green, Xena Hunt, Nice to meet you. I am here due to a mission concerning somebody who is called Innorag. " She said, smiling shyly, and nodded. And after a long second, she entered into 'hunt mode' and lowly scanned the local terrain and then the town that was in sight.
Leo coughed a little as an extremely tall, strange woman approached, with odd, obsidian forearms; featherless, most likely useless wings; and sharply articulated vertebrae extending from the usual end of such structure. More specifically the reaction was at her words, particularly one word, in which his normally relaxed facade fell for about half a second, pondering if she was just making a cheeky comment or if their was something more to her story. That tail, though, internally Leo had a instinctive reaction of disgust, though almost immediately after it faded and he reached up toward his neck, rubbing a finger against the necklace concealed underneath his black sweater. Eris glanced over at him with some concern at the motion, in which he offered a minute shaking of his head, focusing back up on the woman who introduced herself as Xena Hunt. "Leo Aglaeca," he replied simply. Eris did the same, only stating her first and last name.
However, as she seemed to start trying to figure out where this Innorag was simply by looking around, or at least from his perspective, Leo thought it better to say something before she got too carried away. "Ah, we were going to head to the town hall where the attacks happened first, to see if they have any additional information that wasn't included in the request," he stated, guessing by her, well, lack of real investigation skills, at least from what he was seeing, that she wasn't all that experienced in such a line of work. Of course, it was only a green request, but alas Eris and himself had far more experience than whatever such a rank denoted. And so, regardless of Xena's answer, they walked into the building that was their original destination, approaching the elvish woman at the front desk.
"I'm guessing you're with IMG? The chief of security's down that hall, last door to the left." She gestured with her head to a passageway and then returned to her paperwork. She obviously wanted nothing to do with them, which was fine, easier, even. Following her directions, Leo and Eris soon found themselves in a small, cluttered office, with yet another elf addressing them. This one, though, was less blatantly racist, and something about his movements and general posture, along with a more esoteric intuition, told Leo he was at least partially human, if not more than so.
"Hello, we're looking into this Innorag your town is having difficulties with. Is there any information you can provide us with?" Eris asked, in which the man nodded, yawning for a moment before wordlessly retrieving a manila folder and handing it to her. She started to go through the files, and he glanced around the office for a few moments, noticing a knocked over cabinet, a wall of wood having several pocks and gouges in it, and the man himself clinging rather close to his desk.
Leo's vermilion tinged eyes narrowed, leaning down toward the elf and speaking lowly. "Why haven't you told anyone?" he asked, in which the one he was addressing glanced to his right, face contorting.
When the male person, Leo was looking over her, she caught the somewhat grossed out face that he unintentionally made, but it still was somewhat hurtful for Xena. It was always hurtful to have others be grossed out from her unusual appearance, but said nothing more for a few seconds.
When she was distracted from closely observing the around outside of the town and some parts of the town, she nodded slightly, leaving Leo to the the team leader. Just before they entered the town hall, she once again glanced backwards, scanning the town for a short second and put her helmet back on.
Once inside, Xena followed Leo, narrowing her eyes at the fairly messy sight of the small office that they where led into. After Leo asked the question, there was a long silence, before Xena spoke to Eris "Intimidated people rarely speak about the incident, " She spoke and then looked down at the Elf. "We are the people who can help you, so we need to know who did this.... can we see the security footage?" She said motioning around the office, and added. "Also... you need a much better security system... your current system was cleverly hacked into. " Xena said, shaking her head slightly and then turning back to members of the team, specifically Eris "What new information do the files have that can get us more answers? " Xena asked, not wanting to interfere with her reading. She knew many people hated being disturbed while the where reading, herself included.

"They...." the elf trailed off, retaining his eye contact for a moment although soon after looking down.
"Don't lie," Leo said, though his tone was less abrasive than before, halfheartedly listening to what Xena had mentioned though rather apathetic to it. He strongly disliked towns that distrusted outsiders, specifically those he couldn't effortlessly put on a mask for. Not that Leo was an open person to begin with, but he at least tried to play the part that he was. A place that almost begged to hear the truth with their racial stereotyping, well he didn't want to stick around for long lest an unsatisfactory word or phrase slip out. "You're injured, I can tell that much, otherwise you would have already picked up that cabinet. Can't exactly be easy doing work in this mess."
The chief of security sighed, shaking his head. "He came just a few hours ago, threatening my life. Made me delete all the security camera footage and went through the files trying to find his, luckily I managed to get him out before he did. I think if the town were to know, I'd lose my job, even my home. I'm not exactly favored by others...." he spoke softly, eventually fading. Pushing his chair back, he stood, a large, blood tainted bandage wrapped his right thigh.
"You're not pure," Leo extrapolated, his last word carrying a disagreeable undertone, in which the elf nodded.
Meanwhile Eris was scanning the document, the scant few pictures grainy like the job request had been, information not elaborating on what they already knew. "Nothing really," she replied immediately, not looking up from her reading. "The chief is probably our best source, but you can check it out." She closed the folder, handing it to Xena before approaching the man in question. "May I?" Eris asked, pointing to his injury, in which the elf nodded. She laid a hand on the cloth where the blood seemed to be concentrated, drawing from her magic and pouring it into him.
Valerianse - 3 Eris's primary healing technique, Valerianse has the capability of transferring life force from one individual to another. While she can heal anyone with this technique, and it has an AoE radius of 3 meters that only affects those she wishes the technique, it also debuffs the person she is transferring life force from by 5 Magical Fortitude for 2 posts. This debuff does not follow the 2/3rds rule, and it must be consented to by the one receiving the debuff. Eris can apply the debuff to herself, however the individual that is more or less assisting the healing process cannot be healed during it, and must be within a 15 meter radius of Eris at the start of the technique. The spell can also be cast by touch, however in this case it can only affect up to two targets. Valerianse itself is capable of healing up to one intense wound, and has a duration of 1 post with a cooldown of 4 posts. [Debuffed applied to Eris]
As Eris gave her the files, she skimmed threght most of them but a slight bit of unusual information caught her eyes that was from a police report "His hideout contained over 16 sizable trophies of rare wild game." Xena paused and instinctively let out a half laughing smirk. "It looks like our Immorag here is a fairly experienced hunter " She then turned to the non pure elf, who she actually genuinely felt sorry for. She knew exactly what it felt like to me different from others, even if she was once a simple human.
" What happened in this room, will stay in this room. " Xena spoke, smiling slightly and nodded. She wanted to truly reassure him that the intimidation will end. "Also... if you do loose your job here for other reasons, you are welcome to apply for work at the Goldie Resort on Trillium. " Xena said and then closed the folder, falling into her thoughts. "I hate to break it to you, but we have been watched since we arrived here... if not by this Innorag, then by one of his soldiers or agents. " Xena said.

That wasn't right, there was no one else in their general vicinity. He, of course, knew such because nothing else significant was alive around them, aside from the chief of security and the woman at the desk. It was a bit strange, actually, that no one else was frequenting the town hall out of all places, but perhaps the recent attacks by their culprit had detracted any usual visitors. Such also explained how Innorag had been able to slip in and out of the chief's office without causing a ruckus.
"The security cameras," the elf cursed, opening a panel near the screen that was on his desk. "They were tapped. I thought he just destroyed some footage, but apparently not." Taking a pocket knife from his pocket, he flipped it open and slashed at the wires, disabling the entire network of devices found throughout Puritui, at least temporarily.
"Then he knew we were coming," Eris said. "I presumed he was working alone, but maybe you're on to something, Xena. It would be pretty hard to pull off all that he's done without some support from others."
Leo studied the severed wires of the system now clearly displayed, not understanding it in the slightest but mesmerized by the universal language of destruction it exhibited. "Perhaps Innorag is only a name, a facade, if you will," he started, only then making eye contact with the group, one by one. "If you," he addressed the elf, "live in fear of your position, I'm sure there are others that feel the same. Others that might even take violent actions against their supposed oppressors. It's clear Innorag, no matter who it is, wanted to make a statement by attacking the town hall, out of all places. That's a classic anarchist's target, the symbolic position of power."
Just as a note, Leo and Eris can sense all living things within 30 meters of them, which is what I'm referencing in the first paragraph. Also makes it pretty hard for anything to sneak up on them.
As the Elf took out his knife and cut the wires, Xena gently tilted her head. "That will buy us at least a few hours of camera blindness. " She spoke to her team mates and then nodded. " Even the lowest criminals, always have at least one or two associates, but this Innorag... only showed up fairly recently... meaning he is a new crime gang leader who had no idea on how to keep a low profile. " Xena shook her head at such a rookie mistake.
Xena handed the files back to the Elf. "Well... we thank you for your cooperation, but we probably should get moving " She spoke, and started moving to go back outside, but waited for any possible response from either her team mates or the elf. Once outside of the Town Hall, Xena turned to her partners and honestly she has a little unsure of what to do next. Normally during her hunts, she uses a drone to scout and select her next targets, but now, her only idea would have been to visit other locations in the town , like a local pub or hotel to try to get any more information. She hated to admit but this Innorag mission is a fairly tricky mission.
She wished that she could call Fred, to see if any associates knew anything about a new elf crime gang leader, but despite not even having her phone with her right now, she also had to keep her own crime syndicate a secret infront of Eris and Leo. "Um, any suggestions on where we should go next? " Xena asked fairly uncertainly. " Maybe we could visit a local pub or the hotel to try and get some more info about this whole mess? " Xena offered.
"I doubt it. This town isn't even close to big enough to warrant a proper racketeering scheme. To be honest," he lowered his voice, "Puritui seems more like a newfangled cult than anything. And cults tend to be too regulated to allow for crime syndicates, unless they're closely tied the government itself."
"Tch, he's got that right. This whole place is a nasty scheme to promote the elvish pureblood movement. I'm only here because I was here before all the mess started. It's likely Innorag's just a good old terrorist, pushing his hatred onto other," the elf remarked, accepting Xena's return of the file. "Well, I'll try to cover this mess up. If you ever need me, just ask for one Adresin Yllasatra. Well, Adri's probably easier to remember." They all had other things to get to, and so the party left the office of the chief of security, although Leo noted a side door from which Innorag had likely entered earlier that day. He didn't quite see what was nearby such entrance, but as they exited the building it became clear, there was a subtly boarded off residence just an alley away. Likely, it was merely a staging ground, but there seemed to be nothing else connected, which brought up no clear answer.
Before he could response to Xena's question, Eris did so. "It's always best to put oneself in a target's shoes. There was no mention of theft, only violence, which means we should be on the lookout for any potential dissenters. Pubs are usually a good place to find the rowdy folk, but honestly I'd be surprised if this place even had one. It's more of a human tradition...." Yes, that was quite a shame, nowhere to celebrate or mope afterwards. Well, it was probably for the better. Again, eyes dug into the odd group, elves muttering, but out of the corner of his eye he saw an individual who's ears weren't all that pointed, nary at all.
"There," he said, gesturing in the person's general direction with a tilt of his head. "That's the first human other than us that I've seen. Might lead us somewhere."
