Brave Galaxy is set in a world loosely based on Hiro Mashima’s Fairy Tail and Eden’s Zero. It is a PG-13 or so rated space fantasy RP, and uses a combination of character statistics, which can be acquired via roleplaying and events, and creative freedom to help direct players’ characters. While there is a main storyline, which can be found in the events section, characters are free to interact with others and their environment however they see fit.
Explore the galaxy. Overcome the obstacles in your path. Shape the future of humanity.
There was a brief silence in the ship as Laelynn stated her stance clearly, before P.A.L finally formulated a response. "So, this is an example of human arrogance and hubris, then?" To this, Laelynn's right eyebrow twitched in annoyance, taking another bite of her burger, maybe stress eating to the unwarranted criticism. "Not at all!" She piped up proudly, only to trail off in thought, shifting her mouth to the side in a puckered fashion. "...Alright, maybe, but it's not like that for me, listen..." Taking a moment to organize her thoughts, Laelynn peered up to the Camera overhead. "Sure, there are stress hormones, but not all of them are bad. It's just not cortisol and the like...It's adrenaline.~"
"Sure, you're seeing me get angry, but that's not just anger..." She continued on slowly, attempting to figure out a way to explain things to her robotic friends. "When I find something I can't understand, it's anger at my lack of progress, but at the same time, when I find something I can't figure out, that's a reason..." Taking yet another sip of her melon soda, a small grin crossed Laelynn's face, smirking up to P.A.L's visual sensor. "To get excited!" At this, she kicked her feet over the control panel, tucking both hands behind her head, elbows outstretched. "When a human finds a barrier they can't pass, it means they have more to learn, and more room to grow. It means I can become better, and that means I need to tackle it head on. That's how a true scientist lives their life!" "...I see, so, it's a way to update your programming...?" "More or less, exactly.~ Now you're starting to get it P.A.L." Laelynn replied, crossing her arms over each other and nodding her head with a smug smile, quite proud of her explanation.

"...Humans are interesting creatures...Miss Morbane?" "Yuh-huh P.A.L?~" Laelynn stated half-mindedly as she got up from her seat, looking for her next set of items and equipment, the latter of which, mostly just simple prep work. "Do I have this capability to improve as well?" Laelynn stopped mid-way as she searched through a miscellaneous drawer, cocking her head up at an angle towards P.A.L. "Has something gone wrong with your circuits lately? You already know I've programmed you to learn as you go." Laelynn stood up, glaring up at the upside camera, half curious, and half wondering if she should be concerned, already plotting her plan of action of the worst situation happened.
"I am aware of this, but the specific parameters I mean are these feelings you mentioned, the one named excitement, for example." "Oh, that's all you're talking about...? I thought you wanted a minigun or something, wheew!~" Laelynn wiped her brow of a mild beat of sweat, glad she dodged the possible issue of P.A.L. going rogue. "Well, I've actually already been working on that, I'm just still in the design phase, ya' know?~" "...Statement Understood. May I still have that minigun installed?" "No, no, you may not! That wasn't the point of this conversation P.A.L!" "You did mention it first, however." Laelynn immediately leaned her head down over her inventing desk, elbows outstretched and sighing deeping into her arms. She really should have never given P.A.L the idea.
"Anyway, a minigun is out of the question, sorry P.A.L. but I am working on an empathy circuit, so, there's that.~" "An empathy circuit?" "Yeah, basically, it'd let you feel those emotions you spoke of, pretty cool, right?~" "Cool...What is this term...?" Laelynn rolled her eyes as she pulled out a chemistry booklet, shaking her head in the process. "I guess in computer terms, it'd mean efficient or useful. It means something above and beyond, basically."
Putting the book upon her table, Laelynn began to dive into the data held without, searching each page with persistence and diligence. "The main issue is, giving A.I.'s personality usually leads to problems, so, it' s a delicate process. That's why I'm being careful here..." There was an odd silence in the ship for but a moment, before P.A.L. finally spoke up. "But Miss Morbane, why is that? I would never turn against you. It's not in my programming." "You say that, but so do all A.I's, sorry P.A.L.~ It's just common practice to be wary.~"

There was only a brief silence at Laelynn's last remark, only for Laelynn to shrug, leaving P.A.L. to their processing. "Anyway, I'm going to try and focus on my studies, let me know if something about the ship needs a look at, kay?~" "Understood." With that, Laelynn brought out a fleece blanket handily hidden within the seat of her captain chair, settling in as she delved into her chemistry book, reading intently and with excitement. Strangely, scientific books held the same merit to her as comic books did to other youths, never considering a chance to learn and study boring, but rather, an exciting opportunity to expand her creative knowledge.
As another hour passed in galactic standard hours, Laelynn's diligent pursuit of knowledge continued, yet, not without some confusions, nor frustration, despite the excitement learning brought her. "Ugh, I never thought chemistry would be harder than learning the principles of applied ether physics..." Laelynn let out a deep breath, her eager tenacity to learn mixed with a subtle note of frustration as she leaned back deeply into her chair. The more she read, the more she learned, and yet, with the more she learned, the more she realized there was to chemistry, especially on a professional level. "I kinda' want ta' put this on hold and work on my next project honestly..." Elbows outstretched and palms pressed against the back of her head, Laelynn blew upwards, moving her bangs out of her eyes as she mused about where to go from here.
The silence stood for a moment in time as Laelynn kept her hands tightly tucked behind her head, staring at the ceiling of her ship and lost in her thoughts, debating between more work of taking a break for some fun before a thought crosser her mind. "Hey, P.A.L, we havn't gotten those energy drinks yet, ya' mind setting course to the nearest place that sells'em?~" "Of course, Miss Morbane." As the ship cut it's engines, adjusting to it's new vectors, Laelynn kicked her feet up and down, her mind flooded with the various things she could invent.
The H2O unit of course, would be nice for longer showers, but also a luxury. Surely, she could make this a side project and move onto something more revolutionary, right? But then, what to make? P.A.L's cognitive upgrades, new suit devices, or maybe something new altogether? As the ship set course to it's new destination, Laelynn looked out to the stares with curiosity, something with always calmed her when she felt restless. So many stars, so many possibilities...

As the ship propelled itself further to it's next destination, the silence only grew, uncharacteristic of Laelynn's normal behavior. "Miss Morbane, is something the matter?" P.A.L piped in, attempting to be helpful to their creator. "Nothin' P.A.L, I'm just thinking is all..." "You say that, but your biological measurements are differ from the average..." Laelynn only raised an eyebrow at the comment, staring back up at the camera above her head with a scowl. "How bout' you focus less on me and more on driving the ship, alright?"
"I can do both functions without losing efficiency, Miss Morba-" "Yeah, yeah, just leave me alone for a bit, okay?" "...Understood..." In truth, P.A.L. was correct, for Laelynn's thoughts had drifted not only to other inventions, but reflecting upon the past, and a memory she tried to forget, her parents. Her mother was a savvy business owner and a powerful mage, and her father a hero who always helped others, yet, she contributed nothing to the galaxy, and hardly anything to the I.M.G. Despite every invention she made, for some reason, her accomplishments started to seem lacking...

Laelynn was caught in her thoughts for a few moments, but that was all she allowed herself, shaking her head and slapping herself in the face a few times. "What am I even thinking about, geez..." Sure, it was nice to imagine a reality where her mother and father still lived, but that wasn't in the reality, here and now. Sentimentality has no place in the mind of a scientist! It was far more logical to think about her career and future inventions, after all.
"May as well get back to work..." The cameras in her ship zoomed in as Laelynn focused on her studies, P.A.L. quite interested in her work, and the human condition. "P.A.L, what's the ETA on those energy drinks?" "Roughly thirty minutes, Miss Morbane." "Then put the ether on and make it faster, I need a pick-me-up, got it?" "Understood." As the ship raced faster towards it's destination, breaking the speed of light easily, Laelynn dug her head into her book, absorbing every bit of information she could with an eager work ethic.

Laelynn tirelessly continued her studies, feasting on that sweet, sweet beautiful thing known as science.~ Though chemistry was far different than the fields she specialized it, Laelynn didn't let it deter her, instead treating it like a challenge. Science was all about pushing limits after all, so, something as simple as a few roadblocks wouldn't get in her way.~
"Hey P.A.L, we almost there yet?" "Destination is roughly three minutes way, Miss Morbane." "Sweetness.~" Laelynn smirked, placing her chemistry book down and stretching her legs, placing them upon the terminal in front of her while casually tucking her hands behind her head, elbows outstretched contently. Despite the initially shallow intentions for starting this research, she was now having so many, many more ideas.~

"Ya' know P.A.L? I only started this book ta' get longer showers, but now all this chemistry stuff has gotten my brain workin' on overdrive...~" "What exactly do you mean, Miss Morbane?" "Well, I mean, making water from hydrogen and oxygen is just forming molecules together, right? So, what if I designed something similar for my suit? Like, a quick way to upgrade if I ever need to?"
"Interesting..." P.A.L went silent for a mere second after stating that before one of the above head cameras flashed, only to speak once more after their calculations. "Theoretically possible, probability: 57.32%." "Sounds like good odds to me.~ I guess I know what I'm working on next.~" With an excited smile, Laelynn tossed her book to the side and pulling out some paper and a pencil from her captain's desk, using the last few moments before her destination to draw out some crude blueprints.

Step by step, Laelynn worked out the kinks of her newest ideas, leaving the remnants of her last invention behind, at least for the moment. "This actually may be my best invention yet P.A.L..." Laelynn mused, now having drafted dozens of design papers by this point. "That being...?" "A type of molecular assembler, really, but using nanobots, kind of hard ta' explain without goin' into details..." "Fascinating..." It was certainly a tough project, and one that was bringing Laelynn to her limits, but surely, it would be worth it in the end, wouldn't it?
Though, there was a brief intermission in Laelynn's "great work" as P.A.L. finally managed to direct the ship to a small, local shop on a nearby planet, forcing Laelynn to take a break to stock up on her favorite energy drinks. It only took less than thirty minutes, but with that, Laelynn was stocked up once more as her ship took off, now with a multitude of Strawberry Sunrise flavored energy drinks, and with that, her favorite mental fuel restocked at the same time.
