Brave Galaxy is set in a world loosely based on Hiro Mashima’s Fairy Tail and Eden’s Zero. It is a PG-13 or so rated space fantasy RP, and uses a combination of character statistics, which can be acquired via roleplaying and events, and creative freedom to help direct players’ characters. While there is a main storyline, which can be found in the events section, characters are free to interact with others and their environment however they see fit.
Explore the galaxy. Overcome the obstacles in your path. Shape the future of humanity.
So... I figured since there's a "character plotting" thread, i might as well just go ahead and put forward some concepts that I think might be nice concepts to explore for my character, Jak, and how it relates to her family ties, crime and punishment, law and disorder, love and distrust. After all, these can be powerful plot hooks, or even just a way that one character can relate to another. This is something that I feel is a nice thing to have, because... there's so much more to my character, her backstory and her life in general that... just isn't in my profile. It's the un-stated personal motivations, fears and superstitions that just didn't fit into my character's core... but still form a more strong picture of who she is as a person.
And if you are interested in RPing with this character in the future, based on this information, or any information in her profile (link in signature) feel free to respond to this post, letting me know! Sure, you could use the PM system, but that's less fun :P Jak can be abrasive at times; she was raised by a pack of thieves and scoundrels, after all. But she doesn't mean to be. She has a good heart. She doesn't see the world in black and white, due to having lived on both sides, seeing both have a shade of grey. However, due to her past, she is very closed off, feeling that she cannot fully trust any one person to keep her secrets. Of course, she is still very open about her own, personal life, but when it comes to her family, she seems to get... rather quiet, rather quickly.
Hopes
Have the Rousseau name to be known as people who did good
Inspire her family to turn over a new leaf
To one day be proud of her family name
Fears
Having to hurt her family, due to being on opposite sides of the law
Having her family ties revealed, destroying her career in law enforcement
Small dogs (big dogs are OK. But small dogs are VICIOUS!)
Superstitions
Believes someone's true name holds magical power
Crossing a one-eyed cat's path means misfortune will befall someone close to you
Rabbit foot charms are good luck (she has one hanging in her ship's cockpit)
Goals
Reach the rank of General in the ISC
Provide a better life to Julia, her niece
People she cares about
Julia Eloas Valentina Moreau (her niece, a 17 year old computer expert and amateur historian)
Uncle Nox (the man who trains young Rousseau's in the art of crime. Sees Jak as "his favorite")
Dalton Porthalamew Armand Rousseau Jr. (her shitty cousin, where their relationship oscillates between bonding with, and beating up)
Plot Concepts I am interested in pursuing, no questions asked:
Your character is in trouble. What's the reason? Impossible to tell. But you need help... and you see someone who can help you, an ISC officer.
You aren't a bad person... just in a bad situation. You have to commit a crime, but you are found out. Jak is convinced to help you, despite the fact that what you have to do is against the law... Because there's really no other way.
BUDDY COP TIME! We're gonna go in and bust some heads of some crims, BB! You ISC? IMG? A crim yourself? DOESN'T MATTER! Let's roll!
Your character is feeling down. Nothing is going as it should. Sure, she can be a bit abrasive, sometimes... but Jak doesn't want to see you cry.
Jak's Starship, "The Discovalente"
The Discovalente is a junker of a ship which has enough room to transport two people, even though conditions would be cramped. Normally, Jak makes extra room for herself by moving both hers and the co-pilot seat as far back as possible. While the cockpit can fit two people, the small downtime area underneath the cockpit (accessed via a ladder) is quite small, featuring only enough room for a cot and a small table. At one end, there is a door which leads to a mini bathroom consisting of a toilet, shower and sink.
The starship is almost twice as old as Jak, herself, and is prone to mechanical malfunctions. However, the tape seems to be holding alright, so Jak doesn't seem too worried about it.

That's the thing I like about having a thread like this, you know?
Like, yeah. Sure. Other options are available, but these are the kinds of threads, for this character, that I know that I'm interested in pursuing, no matter the rest of the context. So if you're interested in threading with Jak, and you don't what kind of plot to make and/or you have no real preference? Well, here's some ideas that I'm totally down for, day or night! I'm totally down. You also might want to do something different. Maybe we're stranded on an asteroid, and oxygen is running out! Maybe we come across an alien lifeform a la The Thing, and there's no way to escape, other than to kill the creature first! Sky's the limit! But there's no guarantee that I'll be expressly interested in it. You'd have to roll the dice and see how I respond. Because at that point, it's a matter of whether or not I think our characters would work together well, in that situation. And whether or not that's a good thing.
Currently, I'm already in a buddy-cop kinda situation. If you have no strong opinion as to which one you'd prefer, I think we should probably go the other way.
As far as what exactly that might mean for your character, IDK. But message me on Discord or via PM and we can talk about it in greater length.
