He would be the definition of effete class, if not for the hideous scars which mar his face, the results of various jobs, involvement with crime syndicates and general clumsiness in (if you are to believe his lies) equal amount. Though particularly, he seems to balk at any mention of the scar which crosses his left eye, refusing to speak of it at all. He is noticeably slim and almost dangerously delicate. Be it his arms, legs, fingers or toes, "lengthy" would describe it well, feeling less like a normally proportioned man, but someone who had been stretched for so long that it had become a permanent affliction. And matching this, Gio moves as gracefully as would be expected of someone with such a svelte form. Except when his confidence has been rattled, in which case, he seems more akin to a spindly puppet, jarringly jolting and jumping like a startled gazelle. Clothing: Gio prefers the finer things in life, and his wardrobe is no exception. His coat is custom-tailored: a gaudy, black, ankle-length coat with elaborate gold trim, designed in a similar style to a naval captain (back in those days when sea travel was a thought in people's minds) layered over a puffed, silken, eggshell-white His shirt is tucked into meticulously-pressed ebony trousers which, themselves, are tucked into extravagant white boots with gold adornments. Around his waist, Gio wears a loose-fitting sash of a deep purple color, adorned with nigh-invisible patterns of clubs, spades, hearts and diamonds. Accessories: Piercings adorning Gio's right ear range from simple studs and huggies to the large purple gems which dangle down nearly to his collarbone. Picture: {Giovanni Selvano de Zozo} Personality To the casual observer, Gio is laid back and composed, if not a little lacking in manners and class. Even worse, to be told, is his penchant for trickery and duplicity, treating many of his allies as cards to be played against each other, should the need arise. True, his physical appearance and choice of dress is entirely at odds with how he holds himself, as a person: often finding himself drinking in a bar, or fighting in the streets, in equal measure, as opposed to what vibe his semi-aristocratic wardrobe gives off. Still, Gio holds a veneer of class to his speech, preferring the sound of classy and sophisticated-sounding words, even when they don't necessarily work well in a sentence. This often puts him at-odds with others, who perceive this inclination as a form of mockery, rather than the affectation of nobility which Gio intended for it. This normally requiring him to either teach the ruffian-in-question a lesson... or to run like hell from a fight he can't win. On Gio's pirate music station, "Blackjack Radio", he affects a character and tone which much closer matches his natural, normal persona, going by the name The Gambler. He is bombastic and energized, like a barker at a carnival, full of energy, smarmy wit and even a bit of oafish charm. And while this is normally hidden behind his snobbish facade, when alone, or exceptionally rattled, Gio often ends up falling back into this manner of speaking and acting. History His youth was average. Average and dull. Gio wanted so much more from his life, but instead, he found himself born into less-than-glamorous circumstances... the son of a barkeeper in the rathole that was Dandelion. Their family was not poor, by any stretch of the imagination, but at the same time, it was far from rich. They lived in the city, after all... where nothing was cheap. But still, Gio wanted for very little in his life, other than excitement. In an attempt to slake that thirst, Gio asked his father for a job, working as a bus-boy. While, to his father, it seemed like Gio was interested in gaining a sense of responsibility and perhaps even just to spend time with him, for Gio, a different truth was evident: adults in bars drink. And when adults get drunk, they fight. To this end, Gio would often stoke the fires of conflict by "innocently" "repeating" what someone else had said to a patron, which often ended in broken bottles, a smashed table, and two less customers who are allowed to enter Selvana's Saloon & Pub. Of course, this would eventually bore him, when he realized that, other than the excitement of being fight-adjacent... he wasn't really getting anything out of this little bit of mischief. He started to ply his services as a spy, of sorts. After all, no one paid any attention to the barkeep's kid milling about. And with that level of social invisibility, most of the grumbling morons playing cards didn't even think twice when he peeked at their cards. And Gio could signal their hand to one of their opponents, often rewarded with a fair amount of coin for his share in the grift. Although, it was only after a couple years of this did Gio start to actually enjoy the game, anteing in and outplaying many of the regulars... though they never seemed to notice the cards hidden up Gio's sleeves. Gio was just seventeen when he first experienced the love of his life. His father, looking to draw in a less rowdy clientele, had been hiring local artists to perform for him, once a week. It was always someone new. Always something different. But it did the job, and Selvana's was busier than ever. Normally, Gio was never much bothered by the bands, though this time, something had caught his eye. Perfect curves. Delicate frame. He found himself wanting to press his lips against her, but restrained himself... for now. That was wise, as a man broke the space between them, picking her up with one arm, gently caressing her for a moment, as if rubbing it in that she belonged to him, and him alone. He sighed sadly as the man licked his lips, leaning closer and blowing a gentle, probing note, his fingers quickly working their way along the trumpet's valves and playing the most beautiful warm-up Gio had ever heard. The man, clearly, had caught him staring, but chose to ignore the kid, for now. Later that night, they would have a long conversation about life. About love. About Jazz... and about what it meant to them both. His name was Joey T. Or rather, that was the only name he answered to, now... Ever since he became a performer, Joey had chosen to become someone entirely different from who he was before. The money didn't matter. His status was useless to what he dreamed to be. Instead, Joey had left it all behind. Likewise, Gio realized that what he was... where he came from... it didn't make him happy. So, he decided to follow in Joey's footsteps and leave his life behind. He would become one of the elite: an aristocrat. Royalty. He would be charming, well-read and exquisitely wealthy. He would leave it all behind... But first, he had to gain his fortune. And what better way than to play his luck? After all, it had always served him well in the past... The target may choose the result of the dice roll during their next post. On Gio's next post, the dice sends out 2-12 twinkling, golden, beam-like projectiles, which travel 15m in the direction of the target, dealing [INTENSE] damage, split evenly across all projectiles. If the target does not choose a dice result, the attack will default to 7 projectiles. [DUR 2; CD 3]

Brave Galaxy is set in a world loosely based on Hiro Mashima’s Fairy Tail and Eden’s Zero. It is a PG-13 or so rated space fantasy RP, and uses a combination of character statistics, which can be acquired via roleplaying and events, and creative freedom to help direct players’ characters. While there is a main storyline, which can be found in the events section, characters are free to interact with others and their environment however they see fit.
