The secretary narrowed her eyes, retreating behind her desk even as Blitz answered, beginning to type on a laptop hidden amongst the files scattered. "Oh, the Magic Collective. And sanctioned by the Alliance, that's a bit strange for you two, isn't it?" she muttered to herself, continuing to scan the text, the light of the screen reflecting against her glasses. Leo shrugged anyway, although he doubted she bore witness to it. In any case, the secretary's soon mouth opened for a moment as she glanced back over at Kara, before quickly jotting down some notes in scrawled pen. "I understand now; I'll notify her right away," she spoke softly, before raising her voice to a conversational volume again. "Blitz Ranfen, eh? Haven't seen your name around yet, good work." From a cabinet nearby did she retrieve a set of cups, setting a kettle on the stove nearby.
"Is there anything new around headquarters?" Eris asked, her intent clearly trying to draw the conversation away from Kara, who had nervously inched herself closer to a wall of the apartment, likely not on purpose but present all the same. "Nothing that you wouldn't know, as far as I'm aware. Don't you live in the city?" Leo coughed for a moment, then resorting to a nod as he rubbed the back of his neck. "Yeah... well, we're not home a lot. It gets boring, you know?" To the contrary, however, the woman shook her head. "As someone who took this assignment because I didn't want to move around all the time, I don't, but I suppose you guys do what you do for a reason." "That's an understatement," Eris muttered. There was a moment of silence before Kara began to speak under her breath, words inaudible at first although she seemed to repeat herself as she spoke again, stuttering. "Sorry to interrupt, but, um, who might you be?" The woman's visage flashed with momentary surprise, before she cracked a grin, walking over to the girl and kneeling down, a whisper soon exchanged between the two. Kara soon laughed quietly, looking between Leo and Eris for a brief moment before she nodded, addressing Blitz as well. "I... I guess I should thank all of you. For saving me." He chuckled, in his hand appearing the book taken from the facility earlier. "I trust you to finish this, will you?" Kara smiled, nodding vigorously. Eris, in turn, made eye contact with the secretary, gesturing in the direction of the girl. "She translated for the base we found her at. That being said, you'll probably be a more hospitable supervisor, take it from here?" From casual phrases of obvious acquaintance to speaking on pure logical terms, it was the way many protocols in IMG were carried out, the secretary's front being no exception. "Of course. As always, you can stop in any time; I'll let you know what she says." And with a few more brief exchanges did they exit the room, walking up the steps that once again disguised the true purpose of the level below.

As Blitz spoke, she retreated behind her desk, but more out of cautious curiosity than any real concern, it seemed. Either that, or she'd practiced enough to remain calm while actually worried. Either way, interesting response, given the nature of what I suspect her work is, Blitz thought. "You've done your homework, being able to guess my affiliations from that alone. I'll take the compliment, but if you haven't seen me on the records, then you probably haven't gone far back enough." he said with a knowing grin.
Blitz listened as the two of them talked, just shaking his head slightly with a smile as Leo spoke of being bored when away from home. As a wanderer, that wasn't a mindset Blitz could wrap his head around. He didn't deny feeling homesick now and then, but he found adventuring across the lands to be more his style. While he listened, he glanced over at Kara, who was nervously standing closer and closer to the wall. Blitz quietly walked over, turned his back to the wall, and sat down, cross-legged, next to Kara. Given their differences in height, Blitz sitting down was roughly the same height as Kara standing up. Blitz glanced at Kara with a brief, if reassuring smile, before turning back to the ongoing conversation.
At one point, the elven girl got up and whispered something quietly to Kara - so quietly that even Blitz, who was sitting nearby, didn't catch it. But whatever it was, it caused her to say thanks for saving her. "You're welcome, Kara." Blitz said, patting her shoulder in a friendly, but gentle, fashion.
After a few more exchanges, the trio left, leaving the girl with the elf, as they emerged back into the night-cowled city - guess we'll have to visit if we want to know more later on, Blitz thought, waving bye to Kara before closing the door behind him.
