[Arc] Inception

"Thanks," she muttered, grasping his hand for a brief moment before tracing over her own injury, lip curling in disgust for a moment though it soon faded. Blitz would feel a gradual tug as her lacerations began to close, and although it was nothing major there was the hint of corruption beneath the sensation, as if it wanted to consume more but was restrained by herself. Yet there were more pressing matters, not only concerning Leo but also Blitz's unease. Unfortunately, there was only one she had any idea of how to relieve, and thus did she take her attention away from Leo for the moment, turning to the metal mage instead.

From her voice there was an ever dulled shake, pushed away by her mind yet still present in her frame. "Remember when he said he wasn't much of a mage? There's a very, very good reason for that," Eris started, speaking softly. "The last time Leo used magic, back on Earthland, he almost killed both of us, and, well, there were plenty of other consequences. Ever since that, it's been sealed of his own volition. It's not something that can just be broken, though, not like this. There must have been something we forgot...."

Meanwhile, Leo was oblivious to their conversation, and Tolokonsky himself hadn't even processed Blitz's words, or his own as things would have it. As Leo drew Calamitas back, measuring the distances of his eyes and cheeks with a few glances, the man panicked, squirming as his nebulous blade inched closer to his visage. "Please, I didn't tell anybody else, I promise!" Viktor yelped, as the point of Leo's sword dug into his flesh, tracing the outline of his socket.

"Oh really, for some reason I don't believe you. How did you manage to get your hands on IMG's most classified documents, all by yourself?" Calamitas tore further, rivulets of blood now dripping down the man's visage. That bright ruby, far more precious than any stone could be, it painted a visceral image of beauty only marred by the countenance that was its canvas. A blithering fool, that was all Tolokonsky amounted to in the end. By whatever means he had stumbled into power was gone now, replaced by arrogance that had been swiftly reduced to ashes.

"I-I had help! But they wanted to tell the whole galaxy, and then nothing would be valuable, s-so I killed them."

He was telling the truth, his glance up and to the left told as much, but it didn't make it any more pleasant to hear. Certainly, it would make things easier but also so much less fun. There would be no thrill of the chase, no sense of stakes at hand. Oh, how he missed that, with a violent, inhuman passion. "Greedy bastard. At least pick whether you're motivated by revenge or something more pathetic," Leo snarled, releasing his grip for half a second before he slammed Tolokonsky onto the ground. His boot snugged up against the man's throat instead, the red marks where his fingers had previously impressed already starting to show on the skin. And with a sickening crunch did Tolokonsky wheeze a final note, his body falling limp afterwards.
